We both discussed how we would start living for ourselves to see what freedom truly tasted like — I felt excited at the thought of getting to see the world that was only available to me behind a looking glass.

I was brought back to wondering if there was a way to get toward the planet that the other gems we observed came from, once we emerged from bubbles. Though, we had no other means of transportation to get to 'Earth' — as others seemed to call it.

White had carefully hidden us where we would not be seen by any other gems, as she walked down through a narrow corridor which gave her no exposure while she was greeted by the other gems. It was a common sight to my Pearl and I, where the gems of lower status would salute the diamonds in a standard and orderly fashion.

It would be limited now for my companion and I to converse with White here in our presence. Still, a sudden feeling made me want to learn about why the guards were rushing to the ships. Everyone was shouting orders with instilled confidence about these Crystal Gems, and how they would crush their rebellion to let others know no one should ever be this foolish again.

"If it was not for that fusion, none of this would have happened in the first place!" One of the gems spoke before the other next to them went to refute that claim.

"No, it started when someone shattered Pink Diamond — a Rose Quartz started questioning their place. All of this was a bad omen..."

A stern glare was cast upon them by White Diamond, who shifted her gaze to give them a sparing glance as she used her authoritative tone – which was usual when she spoke to others.

"You two need to stop with the idle chatter and get to you stations immediately." It was not a suggestion – it was a firm demand, and I was aware she had little patience for incompetence.

I couldn't help feeling sympathy for the pair, seeing as their backs stiffened — knowing they unintentionally caused ire to their Diamond.

"Yes, my Diamond! We will get to our post right away." One of the gems stammered to speak, while I could sense their fear and nervousness.

After the pair scurried along like frightened rabbits, there was a curious notion to wonder over what mission those two gems seemed to be dealing with for them to create a commotion this big.

I kept these thoughts to myself, though all I could hear was one say the diamonds had something big planned to whip out the rebellion.

Something ran up my spine in a chilling shiver as I wondered what the other diamonds had in store for the other planet. Yet, my mind was currently on my Pearl, recalling the crack her gem received, though I knew it involved delivering White a message on how I was doing, since she would check on me from time to time.

What I did know was how White did not aid in the healing of her gem, but as if she read my thoughts, it was like she knew what I was going to ask before she spoke up.

"Things here have been hectic due to our upcoming attack to thwart those of the rebellion, and I needed to make haste to send you to the Moon Base, little Night."

I felt like that was not the entire story. Something bubbled up inside me, feeling I was not satisfied with that answer, but it seemed that all of the answers I could possibly obtain from White Diamond vanished as she went to step on the gem telepad.

Holding our bubbled selves carefully on her hand, we began to fade away out of our hiding spot, though our arrival was not on the main part of the Moon Base as I was expecting. Instead, it was long corridor where there only laid a grand mirror that reflected the Earth that was in our view.

Alas, there were countless of Homeworld ships that happened to be flying to that planet in a quick pace.

"Our final strike will show these gems that no one will go against the Diamonds. Justice will be served in time for shattering our Pink Diamond... With any luck, little Night, we will have everything back to normal once these Crystal Gems are flushed out of our sight." I could see the cold, merciless smile that was placed on her lips even as she placed our gems gently down within the room — to let us witness the current events out of sight.

There was nothing else that left White Diamond's lips as she gave me a final farewell, though her words were cryptic.

"Your secrecy from Blue and Yellow are my form of protection. Due to the lost of Pink, I did not feel it would be time for them to meet with you. Yet... your safety has always been my priority, Black." She informed me, afterward giving me one final look before exiting the room, even though all I could think about was this truth over the matter – Or could there be something more behind that truth she offered?

Curiosity sparking within me, I began to execute my plan to free ourselves from our bubbles.
