Katrina slept for a long time, it seemed like for Jared.

He poked her cheeks but she wouldn't stir.

"Leave her alone she needs the rest." Devlin mumbled, he was finishing up with the final designs for the week on the couch. "But she's been sleeping for damn near a day in a half." Jared silently whispered.

It was the next day, and it was almost midnight.

"How could she sleep this long when I just got out of the hospital?" Jared ranted, he sighed and moved away from the bed, there was a slow knock on the door, and Jared went to eagerly open it. Devlin's sister happily stood there holding another box of pizza.

Devlin looked up from his spot and groaned.

"voch' avelin." No more.

He groaned, he was sick of pizza, and he was sure so was everyone else. "What kind of pizza is it?" Jared curiously asked, the pizza from the first night that he arrived had too many dressings. "It's just creamy spinach with cheese and sausages." Jessica shyly said, pulling on her skinny jeans. "Oooh actually you know what?" Jared pulled up the lid and grabbed two slices, Jessica smiled. "Here.. Just take it, or my mother is going to come out here." Jared furrowed his brow and snatched the pizza box from her hands.

Jessica giggled.

She noticed his mother savagely flirted with him while his boyfriend was around, Devlin rolled his eyes at him. "My mom is not dat bad." He mumbled, Jared lowered his eyes. "Anthony had one more week off from work and she made him go back.. Do you know how long I've gone without feeling him inside of me?" He screeched, Devlin scrunched his nose. "Das gross." Devlin growled. "I've been meaning to talk to you." Jared sang, he placed the pizza down on the coffee table and sat down on the couch next to him and took a bite. Jessica entered the room and peeped at the bedroom that was halfway open.

"Is she still asleep?" She curiously asked.

"Yes.. And I need her to wake up.. She's my insomnia buddy." Jared mumbled, he didn't want to embarrass Devlin in front of his sister, so he kept quiet. "Wot do you want to talk abot?" Devlin asked him, Jared shrugged. "I'll tell you later." Jessica pulled out her phone and texted Iner. "Don't you dare." Devlin snapped, Jessica gave him a pleading look. "I haven't talked to him in forever... He's going to break up with me." She groaned, Devlin placed his paperwork down and folded his hands. "Dat is not my problem." He angrily said, Jessica rolled her eyes at him, and awkwardly stood in the corner, it was her way of pleading with him.

"I promise, I won't do anything." She whispered, picking at her hands.

Devlin sighed.

"Dats wot you said d last time.. I don't trust you... Now Mayrik is breathing down my neck abot you." He growled, she inched closer over to him and fiddled with her hands, Jared noticed that Jessica treated Devlin like he was her father, he wondered about that.

"Can't I just send him one simple message?" She exclaimed, she was closer to him now and he could smell pizza on her breath, and other things. He scrunched his nose. "Text him I don't care.. Jus keep away wit dat stanky breath." He huffed, Jessica smiled and headed to the bathroom to text Iner, Jared whispered to him.

"Why does she act like that around you? I can't even get my little cousins to treat me with respect." He whispered, Devlin looked up at him. "She knows who wos there and who wasn't." He curtly said, Jared silently took back asking him that question, he didn't know there was tension between him and his father. "I love my dad.. It's just.. He wasn't there for her and my mom.. So dat's why she acts like dat I suppose." He grumbled, Jared smiled. "Part of that has to do with you.. You're a great brother." He exclaimed, Devlin smiled at him. "Thanks man." He murmured, he wasn't going to thank him after what he had to say, Jared sighed and let it out.

"Don't think I forgot about what we talked about at your job.. I never got the chance to bring it up." Jared mumbled, Devlin furrowed his brow at him. "Are you for real with Katrina this time? I know your in love with her and Jasmine." Jared urged, Devlin silently sat in the chair.

"That's what I thought." Jared hated that he was right.

"Is that why you keep her around at work?" Jared grilled him, he wondered about that when she kept blowing up his phone his time there. He's noticed that Devlin hasn't entirely dismissed her, not once.

Katrina awoke at a bad time, she could hear the men talking in the other room. She was too tired to get up, so she laid in bed. It wasn't until Jared told Devlin he was still in love with Jasmine, that she sat up straight and intently listened in.

She hoped not.

Devlin sighed. "I don't love her... But I do like her." He mumbled.

Katrina's heart pounded.

Jared knew he was right and folded his arms.

"Why? That girl is a two-timing bitch." He argued, Devlin shrugged. "I don't know Jared." That wasn't good enough for him, he didn't like that Devlin was acting like this. "You need to tell Katrina." He griped, Devlin sat up straight. "No." He whispered. "I can't.. I love her too much, she's d one that I want to spend the rest of my life with.. Not her." He mumbled.

Devlin saying that alone didn't make her feel any better.

Jared sighed and sat closer to him.

"I know I haven't told you to your face, but I'm telling you now.. You're my best friend.. And as a man.. I know it's tough.. But, you need to pick right now while you're with me.. Other wise.. I know you just got Katrina back and all, but she's not going to be too happy about this. Hell... She may even fly back to Catalina and drag me along with her." He grumbled.

Katrina nodded, he was right about that.

Devlin sighed.

"Im sure dis time.. I want Katrina only, I'm done with other women." He softly said, Jared smiled at him. "There he go." Jared clapped his hands. "Good.. You need to get your head out of your ass.. There is no way Katrina would even do anything with you once she found out you've been locking lips.. And sex?" Jared grilled.

Katrina widened her eyes.

She sat in anger after hearing that.

"I haven't had sex wit Jasmine at all since she's been back.." He lamely said at him. Jared furrowed his brow. "Did you kiss her? I know you must be kissing her." He questioned, Katrina silently blew out of her nose and widened her eyes.

"I wonder if Jared knows I'm awake?"

"I kissed Jazz one time and dat wos it." Devlin finally admitted, Jared was curious. "When?" Devlin shrugged. "When I went shopping wit her for my pa..." Jared remembered that time, Katrina told him he was wearing sandals. "Why do you even bother with that girl.. Isn't she the reason why you got sent to prison in the first place?" Devlin looked past him at the door half opened. Jared turned around and went over and shut it.

Katrina couldn't hear the men talking after that.

She was furious with him, she wanted to get out of bed, but her knees and side hurt so she laid still. There was no point of even talking to them anyways, she realized that she hasn't gotten this much sleep since Catalina, and it felt good, she didn't have to work and she felt safe and secure.

She went back to sleep.

When Jared and Devlin were done talking, Jared yawned and looked back at the room. "She's giving me the itis." He whined, Devlin furrowed his brow. "You can't sleep for a long time like you did in the airplane, you need to let your chest heal." He announced, Jared groaned. "My dad is such a snitch." He implied, Jessica emerged from the bathroom with a huge grin on her face. "Dat was too long.. Give me your phone." Devlin angrily shouted, she sulked and clutched her phone in her hands. "Mom called me.. I have to go." She exclaimed running out of there.

"Liar.." Devlin sneered after her.

Devlin's phone rang and he quickly answered.

"Devlin speaking." He said low, Jared listened in, if it was Jasmine one more time, he was going to snatch that phone out of his hand. "Are you ready?" Tevan asked him, Jared relaxed on the couch. "Better not be that hoe." He seethed, Devlin stood up and grabbed his weed and pipe off the table. "Ya, I'll be there soon." When he closed the door, Jared called his father, but he didn't answer, his dad was taking too long shopping with Tigranui, it worried him. He set the phone down and then decided to touch Katrina's face. When he opened the door, he expected her to be sitting up, she peacefully laid there asleep.

He groaned and closed the door.

Around midnight, Katrina yawned and opened her eyes, seven people were intently staring down at her, she shuttered and pulled the covers up. "Yeah it was way too long of sleep... Something is wrong." The doctor from earlier mumbled. "I think you and Devlin are sick dear." Tigranui mumbled, touching her forehead, Katrina yawned and adjusted her eyes and looked around the room. The doctor, Jared, Tigranui, Morena, Christopher, Devlin, and Jared's father, looked down on her.

She was extremely embarrassed.

She only had on Devlin's shirt, and she was sure she had her legs out for the cold.

And she felt gravely ill.

"Could you sit up for me sweetheart." The doctor said, pulling out his instruments, Katrina slowly sat up, her whole body ached. She tasted throw up and then felt her head.

Everyone gasped when they seen deep bruising on her chest and neck.

"That's odd..." The doctor examined her throat and touched her forehead. "When I ran some test's earlier nothing was wrong with the baby... Baby's fine." He gently placed a thermometer in her mouth, when he pulled it out, he examined it and moved closer to her.

"Now I want you to take deep breaths.. Could you do that for me?" The doctor murmured, Katrina nodded.

When she began, the first breath was unbearable. They could hear gurgling noises through her throat, the doctor listened in. "Yes.. She has the flu." He ordered her to stop and then wrote notes down on his clipboard, everyone sighed with relief except her.

"I'm sick again? This is annoying." Katrina tiredly thought.

"Tiger, you need to pick up amarrox when you get the chance." He mumbled, Tigranui nodded and smiled down at Katrina.

Jared furrowed his brow at the doctors nickname for her.

"When?" She asked him, giving Katrina a gentle smile again.

"Well it depends.. This type of flu that she has usually last's up to three weeks, after the third week, if she's not feeling any better, she needs an MRI.. Nothing ever comes up on that cat scan." He grunted, Devlin sat down near Katrina and beamed down at her for her bravery.

It would have been different for him.

Had all those people crowded him like that, they would be in pain, each and every one of them.

"Did you fall? Did someone hurt you?" Tigranui asked her, making sure the flu was the only thing that she had, Katrina's bruises made her worry. Katrina couldn't remember, at least not while she was awake. "You said that they injected you with sleeping medicine right?" Her sister worriedly asked her, Katrina nodded, her sister frowned. "Maybe they dropped her while she was asleep?" Morena whispered, the doctor furrowed his brow.

"Well it is possible.. Do you have any other bruises?" He asked her, embarrassed, Katrina nodded her head. "Where are they?" He questioned, Katrina teared up and looked around the room, she was hoping that they wouldn't find out. "Here.. Give her some privacy everyone... Including you Devlin." His mother ordered, Devlin stood his ground. "I'm not leaving her." He jeered, Katrina kind of wished he did and Tigranui noticed.

"Yes asats'i ՝ durs yekek'" I said get out.

Tigranui growled at him.

Devlin swallowed, he planted a kiss on Katrina's forehead and slowly stood up, leaving the room. Jacopo and Christopher followed after him, Jared and her sister lingered around watching her. Katrina sighed. "I'm sorry Jared." She murmured, giving him a worried look, he knew he had to leave too, he patted her arm and left the room. Tigranui folded her arms at Morena, she gathered this was the problem sister. "I have to talk to you when you're done." Morena quickly said, before Tigranui shooed her away, she awkwardly smiled up at her sister, and left the room.

It was just the doctor and Tigranui.

For some odd reason, she felt more comfortable showing Devlin's mother than Jared. And then dread washed over her face when she realized she didn't have any pants or underwear underneath. She swallowed and bravely spoke up. "Could I change before I show you?" She whispered, Tigranui smiled and nodded, she took the doctors arm and rushed out of the room. Katrina flung the covers off of her and darted to Devlin's closet, she rummaged through the drawers. "How does he not have any pairs of shorts or boxers?" She groaned, she forgot he resided at his mothers house and groaned again. A knock on the door made her anxious. "Hold on." She yelled.

Devlin cleared his throat.

"I have something for you Yerekha." He rushed.

Katrina realized she needed to let him in, she ran and unlocked the door, and then ran to the closet and had the door hide her body, only her head was sticking out, Devlin came in and quickly closed the door. He looked around the room and spotted her, he had a pair of his old basketball shorts clutched in his hands. "Put dees on." He said in a deep voice.

She held out her hand.

"Jus come out.. I've seen you naked before." He purred, grinning at her, Katrina wiped a tear out of her eye, and then opened the door. "It's Devlin.. He's going to see it eventually." She had a large cigar burn on the top of her right leg near her vaginal area, her left leg had been covered in black. Dark red and blue bruises surrounded her left leg, as if someone took a baseball bat and beat her.

Devlin shockingly stared down at them.

"Wot?" He shouted, quickly running over to her.

There was a knock on the door, Devlin went back and locked it. "Not now!" He screamed, and turned to her. His eyes were black and the barbaric scowl on his face didn't make her feel any better about her legs showing, he quietly stood near her inspecting them. He slowly moved around her, and let out a soft moan.

He was saddened by what he witnessed.

"No wonder she couldn't hardly stand up. Dis is why.."

He quickly picked her up and carried her into the bed, being careful about her legs, he didn't want to put the shorts on her anymore. Her legs looked so painful that he could see why she wanted to lounge around naked in the bed.

"They are not seeing you." He whispered.

His hands were shaking.

Katrina silently crawled back under the sheets and held on to the end of the blanket, Devlin swallowed and stood up. He softly put the shorts down and left the room.

Once he was out of the room, he blocked the door.

"Is she done son? Can he see her now?" Tigranui murmured.

"No." Devlin growled.

He curled his lip up at Christopher and Morena, remembering their big help, he sneered and tried to be as nice as he could. "Please.. She is not to be seen today I need for you to leave." He growled, Morena nodded and took Christopher's hand, they headed back to the guest room, she had tomorrow to talk to her anyways. Jared's father had already gone off to the main house, and Jared comfortably made room on the couch to sleep in, he nervously looked up at Devlin, hoping he didn't dismiss him as well.

The doctor sighed. "I guess I will call it a night then, I'll be back here tomorrow." He sighed, Tigranui sighed also. "Let me follow you out." She murmured, they both left the tiny home, Jared waited until they were gone to say something. "Is it really bad?" He asked him, Devlin angrily nodded and cracked his neck. With widened eyes, Jared sat in silence on the couch.

"Oh no.. My poor baby." Jared whispered.

"If she let's you.. You could go in there." Devlin mumbled, Jared nodded. "I think it's best if I wait until the morning to see her." Devlin rolled his eyes, and knew that Jared hated sleeping alone so he opened the door to let him in, Jared was excited, but also afraid, because he didn't know how Katrina was feeling. Both men entered the room to see Katrina softly crying to herself.

"Oh sweetheart." Jared said, folding his fingers, he had his pillow and blanket on his arms, and stood to the side of the room. Devlin entered the closet and pulled out a twin blow up mattress for Jared. "While dis is blowing up, I'll be back.. I'm getting medical supplies, and I'll borrow some clothes from Jessica for you." He murmured at Katrina, he had the tiny machine tucked under his arm and placed the blow up mattress as close to Katrina as he could and plugged it in for him. He went in the closet, and grabbed a sheet and pillow for Jared, he threw it near the mattress and left the room.

They both waited until they heard the front door shut.

Jared sat on the bed and rubbed Katrina's arms.

The only sound was the mattress blowing up.

Katrina turned and faced him.

"Bryce did this to me." She moaned.

She was so sure that Devlin seen her legs, she looked down and realized the shirt that she had on was large and stopped by her knee's, so there was no way of him knowing. She didn't even notice her legs until earlier, she sighed and began to cry again. "Don't worry, Devlin's taking care of him." Jared murmured, Katrina sniffled and sat up, putting a pillow on her back. "I thought I was going to die..." She softly admitted, clutching the blanket.

Jared scooted closer to her.

"You're here now.. That's all that matters, we're safe.. No one is going to hurt us anymore." He slowly said, Katrina swallowed and coughed up phlegm, Jared stood up and went to the bathroom to grab her toilet paper, when he came back, he sat back down on the bed and handed it to her. "You and Devlin both have the flu." He said smiling, Katrina just sighed. "Where is Hershell and Bryce now?" She asked him, she knew he knew, Jared stretched and laid down next to her. "If I tell you.. Promise me you won't tell Devlin? They're going to be mad at me if I tell you." He whispered, Katrina nodded.

"Katrina?" Jared nervously said.

"I'm not going to say anything, I promise." She whispered.

Jared sighed.

"Hershell is with Devlin's friend in an abandoned warehouse, and Bryce is working for Devlin.. He's closely watching over him and his daughter, I think he's getting ready to do something bad to him... He say's that Bryce has been spending a lot of time hanging out with Mr. Roderick.. Can you believe that? What's he doing hanging out with our old boss?" Jared asked confused, Katrina shrugged, she just knew she wanted payback for what he did to her.

"I dont care about all that, I want Bryce to pay." She growled.

She pulled the covers off of her again and tried to get up. "I'm giving the police tips or something.. I know they killed those girls..." She huffed.

"No Katrina!" Jared silently hissed.

"Why? Look at what he did to me.." She angrily pointed down at her legs. "I know.. And trust me, he's getting what's coming to him, you just need to let Devlin take care of us." He murmured, Katrina furrowed her brow at him. "I heard what you guys were talking about earlier.. How can I let him, if he's in love with Jasmine?" She groaned, Jared sighed, she wasn't entirely right about that, he knew that Devlin chose Katrina regardless. "He loves you.. He doesn't love her... He just..
