That same afternoon, Katrina and the men finished eating the left of what Anthony cooked. It was a big meal.

After Jared stuffed his face, he uttered a, 'Thank You' then kissed Anthony on the cheek with a slick grin. Anthony replied with a smile.

"Sure thing hun."

Katrina grinned at them both, she was begining to like Anthony.

When they were done. Anthony thanked Katrina and told Jared he would see him later, then left.

When Jared shut the door, he turned to find a mischievous look on Katrinas face.

"What?" He said, lowering his eye lids.

"You told me you would tell me what's going on?"

She softly said, giving him a huge smile. "You and Mr. Handsome!" She yelled. He gave her a wide smile.

"We've been going through it but everything's all good now." He sat down next to her. "We started seeing each other before the trip, then he got all

suspicious; Because me and you have been hanging out a lot, even though I told the guy that you're my best friend, he still didn't listen." He breathed, and then continued.

"So, when he saw me walking you to work; Of course he thought the worst."

"So are you guys a thing now?"

Jared just nodded his head and sighed. "Yes, we're going out, if that's what you're asking."

"That is cool, finally!" She exclaimed. "Don't act weird or anything, for what I'm about to say; But gawd, Jared! You are hot! I was beginning to think that you were a serial killer!" Jared laughed and then gave her a light shove. "I think you have told me before how beautiful I am."

She gave him a wide smile, and then she thought of yesterday and her mood quickly changed and she began to clean up.

"What's going on with you babe? Is Devlin giving you a hard time?"

She looked down at the plate and set it in the sink. "Yes and No." Jared furrowed his brow.

"What do you mean? Yes and No? Be specific?"

"He's being uptight with me Jared. He's acting really different; Difficult, whatever... I guess even annoyed with me."

Jared just stared at her.

At first he didn't know what to say, and then he instantly knew what was going on. Girls were funny like that.

"Katrina, hunny... You guys aren't in a relationship; The man just got out of prison. Plus; He's a corporate manager, and he has work that needs to be done, and I'm pretty sure people are giving him shit because he got that high of a position with the snap of a finger."

Jared stood up then rubbed her back. "And believe it or not... And hear me out because I care about you and I know you don't want to hear the stone cold truth, but here it is..."

"He probably is still talking to the girls he used to date, remember the blonde? She's probably still high on this mans nuts."

Katrina thought about when she pulled up his profile. And then what Jared was saying sunk in. She shouldn't have fallen too fast for this guy; She hardly even knew him, she really felt like a total dits for acting like she was his girl, when she's not even in a role to be his girlfriend.

Once again she was being stupid.

Something inside her turned, it was light, but it hurt just a tiny bit. "Thank you for this Jared I needed to hear it, I was just so blind and side tracked."

Jared just nodded.

"Now I do know though, that he is in the wrong for messing with your emotions like that. I'm a guy, so us guy's can be pretty forgetful and at times unreliable and when we see a shiny new toy, we forget about the ones we used to play with and go straight for the new thing. Or we dig deep in the old pile of toys that we used to love and forget about the toy's we have been playing with. Or we even try to play with everything, get my drift?"

He sat down. "I'm not even supposed to be telling you that but... You are a gorgeous girl, and you deserve to hear nothing but truths. And it's all up to you baby girl, if he's being hot and cold with you then do your own thing."

"I'm not saying no to having side men either."

He grinned, and she smiled lightly. "I'm just saying to keep your options open. And step up for once, show the man you are worth it.. And that you won't put up with bullshit."

Listening to Jared calmed her soul, he was right. A man is a man, and she couldn't do anything about it.

"Should I leave him alone for a while?"

Jared gave her a soft smile. "Yes, let the man think. If he wants you, he will choose you, and he will come to you."

Katrina felt calm after what Jared told her. It felt like she forgot how it was to start something new with someone.

After their talk, Jared left, leaving her sitting alone in her kitchen, she thought about calling Devlin but then she decided to get ready for work. If anything; She didn't want to hear his up tightness before she actually saw him.

Jared came back later on and drove her to work.

When she stepped into D.I the security man wavered her over, she walked slow, tugging down her maroon skirt. She didn't know what was going on.

"Security check miss, there seems to be a problem today." Katrina was confused. "With me?" The tall, light skinned male, chuckled and lifted his sleeves.

"No miss, it is standard procedure." Katrina muttered an 'Oh' and placed her purse on the desk. He searched quick and then motioned for her to lift her arms, she did so.

"So if you don't mind me asking, are you mixed with something?" He said, patting her suit jacket. "No." Katrina said with a small smile, he nodded. "I just wanted to say that because you are very beautiful and I don't think I've ever seen you around here before."

Katrina had a good feeling that he did all this on purpose just to talk to her. "Oh, no sir, I'm not mixed at all." She murmured, he finished and stepped back.
"Cause I'm mixed, my father is African, and my mother is Caucasian." He proudly said, she looked at his facial structure and she could definitely see he was mixed. Besides his skin color; He had grayish green eyes, and his hair was dark black and straight. His nose, skinny and long. "You have pretty eyes."She said smiling.

He grinned wide and said a small 'thank you'.

"I'm the head of security if you need anything at all, I'll be right here."

Since she's been here, she hasn't noticed the first floor that much, let alone the people in it. She was in a rush her first time.

"Well.. Take it easy miss?"

"Givenchy." Katrina said smiling at him. "Beautiful last name for a beautiful woman." He waved, and then walked back to where he was standing. She strolled over to the elevator and waited.

When they opened, she stepped in and pressed the button to Devlin's floor. It seemed like a long time before the elevator opened. She noticed some people were busying themselves. She didn't know where exactly Devlin's office is, but she didn't have to look long enough before a tall male stepped out of the double doors.

He was built...

And not built the way an average american guy would be after sessions of football trainings or weight lifting.
No... He was built in a way a foreign male is; A soccer player, who served in what seemed like a mixture between MMA or any other extra activities that any man did. His lean figure silently and gracefully glided towards a group of employee's, veins pulsating from his hands to his arms. He scanned the room like a CIA agent. Eyes low and subtle. Lips thin, and jaw clenched; The tattoo on his neck creeped out of his dark red business shirt that made Katrina's eyes widen.

Katrina felt moist, it was like she almost forgot where she was. Actually.. She did forget where she was, since she was staring at this hot man in classy Ray Bans and his slick black hair only God could have created. It wasn't until a tall blonde haired woman with a long and tight skinny dress, and ugly heels to match stepped in front of her.

"Excuse you?" The woman said with a hint of bitch.

Katrina turned her attention in front of her. The man that she was staring at began to kneel down and answer someone's question. "Yes?" Katrina quietly said, sounding small. She hated that her faults were consisted of being extremely shy and quirky.

"I don't think your job here is to stand there and do nothing but drool over our boss is it?" She loudly said, making everyone in the room stop what they were doing and look over at them.

"Was I drooling?" Katrina had to touch the end of her mouth to make sure she wasn't. "Nothing..."

The blonde that was completely rude to her, had a pale face with bright colors, she wore dark pink lips. Although Katrina didn't know much about make-up she did know that this girls cake face was all too messed up.

Katrina gave credit for the contour and blending, but her lips and eyes did not match up at all. Her eye liner looked like a child smeared it all the way to the top of her shaven eyebrows. Not to mention, she had black eye shadow on top of her eyeliner and dark pink below her drawn brows. Her eye brows were drawn on too thin and her eye lashes looked like crumbs. The girl attempted to rock the smokey eye look, but failed miserably.

Katrina swallowed and looked around. This indeed was embarrassing. "So? What can we do for you?"The woman said in a fake cheery voice.

"Hello, I'm Mr. Danielyan's temporary P.A." Katrina's soft voice squeaked. The blonde seemed like she was royally pissed, she gave her a sneer only she could see. The man who was bent down helping someone, glanced back at them and prowled over to them immediately.

A cold accent cut the woman off before she could speak another word. "And I don't think your job is to have such disrespect to her Rhaliana." Katrina recognized the voice immediately behind the unrecognizable face. It was Devlin.

She was drooling at Devlin the whole time. The embarrassment was too real.

He had a new hair cut.

And it made her insides turn with warmth. She thought about what Jared said earlier, how could she? When Devlin takes her breath away every chance he gets. She forced herself to stop day dreaming again and focused her attention in front of the jealous blonde who wanted nothing more but to have Katrina disappear.

"Would you go into my office, I'll be there shortly."Devlin growled at her.

Katrina nodded at Devlin, he pointed where he came out from and she quickly went that way.

Once she was inside, she let out a sigh of relief and took a seat on the couch. She couldn't hear anything beyond this point and wondered if Devlin had it this way for a reason. He didn't take long, he quickly opened the door and went straight to his desk.

Katrina noticed he didn't close the door.

"Maybe he doesn't want people thinking anything."

He sat down on his desk and straightened a few papers.

"Sorry about dat.." He said, so low.

"As much as I would like to get rid of some people.. Out of respect for my father I won't." He grumbled.

Katrina nodded and folded her hands together. She could tell this was going to be a long day.

"I have a file that needs to be sealed and mailed off to a client of mine." He smiled warmly at her and continued.

"Once you're done, let me know. Your office is right next to mine, if you have any problems, just walk in or come find me."

He gave her the file, she nodded and headed out the door. Whoever his PA was; Katrina was a little jealous that she got to work closely with him everyday.. She badly wanted this position.

When she was out of his office. The girl Rahliana, and the other blonde who she recognized that came in with coffee, sneered at her. Katrina pretended like she didn't notice, then went inside of her office.

When it reached nine, she stretched from her desk and went out to get more coffee, she remembered they had a cafe in there. The man behind the counter stared up at her with a pleading look. Before she could say anything; Rahliana's scraggly voice cut her off. "It's rather rude of you to make someone work on their break." The man dismissed what Rahliana said and smiled at her.

"It's okay Rah she's new up here, she could have anything she wants."

The woman gave the man a venomous look then stepped in front of Katrina and folded her arms. "I don't know what you're doing here, but you can't just prowl around the building like you own it. Keep in mind; I've been employed here for a long time." She whispered the last part.

Katrina finally rolled her eyes. She had just about enough of this girl, she ignored her, then asked the man for a plain coffee, with sugar, and creamers on the side. She wanted a cappuccino; Since the aroma consistently crept underneath her office door.

Smelling it alone, made her mouth water, but she also wanted this man to have a break. He gave her a secret smile, then headed for the machine. Rahliana sneered at her and stalked away. With a sigh of relief; She had noticed someone else getting relieved as well.

"In all the years that I have worked here, I don't think she's disliked someone this much, since this girl crossed her path when they argued over the fax machine." He handed her the coffee.

"My names Erick by the way. If you have any questions just ask, I'm always here."

Katrina thanked him and slowly went to Devlin's office to let him know she was done, he appeared like he was already busy with a small group of men surrounding his desk. She was going to turn around, but he excused the men and walked them out, this time, closing the door. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair.

"I need a break.." He mumbled, letting out an exasperated sigh. He didn't want to deal with anyone today, he just wanted to go home.

Devlin observed Katrina as she folded her hands in her lap and fiddled with her business skirt. He took note of her natural beauty catching him by surprise every time he saw her. He had a lot of faith in her.

"So.. My father wants you to work on the ground floor for now before you can become my PA."

Katrina understood. "I'd rather work on the bottom anyways, than be up here with a bunch of snobs." She wanted to ask Devlin what was that girl Rahliana's problem? But in the workplace; Especially since he is her boss, she didn't want to be immature. She already felt like she was, talking to Ian.

"So? Do you like your new position?" He curiously asked her, he wanted to know if she was comfortable. He felt bad that he didn't have enough time to explain the changes. He assigned her to Mr. Seattle because he reminded him of a straight version of Jared.

"Yes, everything's fine." She smiled, remembering the new security guard. "Security is pretty cool."

Devlin shrugged, he needed it for future purposes. He wanted to kiss her; She parted her lips, then let out a sigh of relief, and it made him hungry for her. He had thought about her all day; Then he thought about Rahliana being nasty to her, and knew in an instant it was a problem that would disrupt Katrina's peace like Morena did.

He was going to have to fix that problem.

"Hold on a minute while I get Rahliana in here."

He stood up, then headed for the door and left.

Katrina was alarmed. "What is he doing?" She didn't like where this was going, and she didn't know if Devlin was actually on her side.

She felt very uncomfortable, and thought about getting up to leave but where would she go?

So she waited until the two entered the room.

Like her; Rahliana was nervous, as she stepped into his office, as soon as she seen Katrina, she rolled her eyes, then folded her arms.

"Am I in some kind of trouble here sir?"

She sweetly said, giving Devlin a trusty smile.

"No.." Devlin retorted, sitting down at his desk.

She awkwardly remained near the door.

"Come in, have a seat next to Katrina. I would like to speak with you both."

Rahliana journeyed over to them, then sat next to her. She straightened out her work shirt, and cleared her throat. Not giving Katrina a glance.

"Do you have an issue with Katrina?" Devlin slowly inquired, lowering his eyes like he was listening in intently. Then rocked from side to side in the chair, folding his hands together.

Rahliana rolled her eyes.

"Yes sir, I do."

Rahliana said truthfully, giving Katrina an empty look. This took Devlin aback, he didn't expect her to say that, he had thought she would be like any other employee and lie. He kicked himself for even trying to fix this situation.

He also felt angry that Rahliana didn't like Katrina for no reason. He wanted to know the reason.

Katrina sat in her chair tremendously embarrassed. She didn't care if this girl didn't like her or not, she just wanted to get back to work without this day being humiliating.

From the moment she walked in those doors, it was clear that this woman wanted nothing more than to just abash her.

"Why?" Devlin demanded, blankly staring at her. Katrina could see that he was angry and calm at the same time. "But could Rahliana see it?" She thought, peeping at the other woman.

"Well sir, I don't think she belongs up here. You could have easily asked one of us; Who have been working here for ages, to fill in a spot for Manxy. This woman hasn't even worked here this long, and she's prancing around here like she-." Rahliana stopped ranting, and Devlin raised his eyes.

He had to admit; The first complaint was something to be angry about, but the second one..

Devlin just folded his arms on that.

"And, that's something to be disgusting towards someone for?" Devlin swiftly asked, annoyed at her.

Rahliana didn't understand because of Devlin's facial expression, and she coolly swallowed hard and glared at Katrina, then smiled back at him.

"What do you mean by that sir?"

Devlin tried so hard to be professional, but he finally snapped and rolled his eyes deeply.

"I mean, is that really someting' to be malicious to someone for?"

"Mean, evil, rude." He said low.

Devlin leaned back, picked up a pen and chewed the back. He resembled a big kid, who was trying to calm his friends down.

"I'm sorry sir, but if I don't like someone, then, I don't like them.. End of discussion.."

And Rahliana kind of smiled at the way she said it, she didn't like Katrina. And she felt sorry for the fact that her feelings were hurt enough to the point where she had to snitch on her.

"Not, end of discussion? Are you joking?" Devlin growled.

Rahliana felt like she was in wonderland. She felt high and mighty, until she seen Devlin's face. He was mad at her for some reason, but she didn't care... Who was he, to try and force her to like someone? His father certainly didn't do a damn thing about it. "But he is just so fucking sexy.. Shit.. I fucked up." She nervously thought, then gave out a weak smile.

Devlin didn't like women like Rahliana, or he did-he used to.

She was just like
