Katrina went home and placed her phone on the counter.

She knew Jared was expecting a call from her, and knew he was up waiting, so she picked up her cell, and dialed his number. He answered in a heartbeat.

"Girl, What the hell? Do you know what time it is?"

She smiled, and sat on the edge of her bed.

"They could not have walked you home that long!"

She pursed her lips, and sighed. She might as well tell him all the juicy details.

She got done with how Devlin had completely ignored the girls in the other booth, and how he was a gentlemen the whole night. And when she told him about the beach; He squealed, and then paused for a minute, she heard something in the background, it sounded like a truck.

"You said he's Armenian?"

"Yes! A very hot Armenian, like.. Way hotter than Arturo Arshakyan..."

"Girl, I don't know what you talkin bout,' I still would have me some Arturo. Even though that man is getting fat, he's still delicious."

Katrina just rolled her eyes. He's always calling someone delicious.

"Can I come over and spend the night? We can just go to work together? You are my insomnia buddy, you know, I have to hear the rest of this story... Plus.. I'll bring over some food!!"

Katrina sighed.

"Okay."

He screamed. "Yay!" And she immediately heard a knock at her door, her mouth dropped. "You were here the whole time?" He laughed hard, and she could hear the echo from the phone, to the door.

"Correction; I left the house, as soon as you called me." She rolled her eyes, and opened the door, stepping aside for him. He came in with a duffle bag, and a lot of snacks. "I'm heeeere." He sang, waving the hot funyans at her.

When they were seated on the couch, she took the time to admire how Jared looked. He had on a burgundy; Turtle neck sweater, with black leather pants, and black studded boots, matching the suit jacket. His hair was neatly combed to the side, having the blonde stick out in the back. The blue, she had admired, is fading...

"So? Why did you dye your hair?"

"Because." He paused, taking a sip of his glass of merlot. "I don't like the normality, of these people in this town."

"I want to feel different..."

"Soo.. What are you going to do with Mr. Armo?" He asked her, grinning.

"I don't know." Katrina shrugged, and went to the kitchen, she set her glass down, and playfully glared back at him.

"I just met him... But it feels like.. I've known him for a long time.. Just like with you..."

"It was meant to be baby.." He drawled, grabbing the almonds off the table.

Jared paused, and stared at her. All of a sudden, he
seemed completely lost. "Wait... You said his name is Devlin?"

"Yes, his name is Devlin, weird name huh?"

He paused again, and searched around for his phone. "What are you doing?" She asked, sitting on the edge of the couch next to him. "This is for your own good.. I'm digging." He found his cell, and quickly got on his Friendtime.

When he logged on, he clicked the search engine, and typed 'Devlin'. A lot of names popped up, and he scrolled down, looking for a familiar face.

"No, no, no." He mumbled, looking down at his phone intently.

"I know a fine face when I see one, and these are not it." And then suddenly it dawned on him.

"We have to look up all of the Armenians, in THIS town! I mean, it's very common that they descend in this area... I always thought, Armenians were known to live in cities. I mean, most of them do, from what I've have heard..."

He searched 'Armenians in Minerva' on boggle, and the website stated: There are 3 people in this town that you are looking for... And the rest, you had to click on the link.

Jared quickly clicked on the link, then scrolled down. Katrina went to take the brownies out of the oven. "Oh my God.. Oh my lord.. Girl, come here, you are NOT going to believe this!"

Katrina had her mittens on, and the tray of brownies in her hand. She didn't want to rush over there and drop them, so she placed them on the counter, and slowly went over to him. "What? What is it?"

"Look." He handed the phone to her, and put both hands on his lips, his eyes widened at her, and he was half smiling.

She looked down, and read three names. Two names, that she knew...

Tigranui Danielyan, Jessica Danielyan, then last but not least, Devlin Danielyan.. The site had shown their phone numbers, and the address to where they lived. She scrolled down; It also mentioned Mr. Danielyan, being divorced to Tigranui, and showing his address as well.

Open mouthed, she quickly glared at Jared, and he shook his head laughing. "This is not funny!" She exclaimed, as she moved the pillow, sitting down next to him, while clutching his phone.

"He's Mrs. Danielyan's son! And Mr. Danielyan's son!"

"I can see that." Jared murmured, wiping his eyes. "If you ever get married.. Then count me out of the wedding; Because I don't want to be anywhere, near that woman, she scares the poopers outta me!" He instantly jumped up, laughing. "Ooooh, look on the bright side; You'll have a very sexy husband, and beautiful children.."

"No, this is not okay..." Katrina exclaimed, holding her head. "You said his son is racist?!!"

"Well girl.. I don't know; I mean, he went to prison, so, maybe he changed... Or.. Maybe he changed, because he seen that chocolate coming towards his way, and he couldn't resist getting a taste!"

She swatted at him, and he scooted back laughing; Getting up again, and going over to the kitchen to cut the brownies, this time, his voice was more serious.

"We have to find his 'Friendtime' er something because, we have to find out some shit.." He cut two pieces, then grabbed two small plates for him, and her. He quickly went over to her, and sat down next to her, handing her a plate.

"Look up his name on Friendtime.. Speaking of that site, you need to add me as a friend on there."

She typed, 'Devlin Danielyan' on the search engine, and a few names came up.

She quickly found him, his handsome face had a hoodie on, and he carried a huge smile, standing next to some girl that is clearly European. She had blonde hair, and a pink dress, she was holding on to his waist smiling wide, and had her other hand in the air.

"That's a fake ass pose, you know that bitch, looks way to clingy to be hugging on him like that."

Jared murmured, taking a bite of his brownie. "She looks like she doesn't want, whoever taking the picture, getting any closer to them... Ooh girl, look at her face." Katrina instantly clicked on his profile. It said that he worked at a liquor store, and he had more than nine hundred friends.

"Damn, that boy got a thousand friends on this site! Calm down, it's just Friendtime." He exclaimed.

Katrina shook her head at Jared, and continued to look over his profile. It didn't hurt to be nosey, but then she thought, this was past her limit.

She had never done this before, not even with her ex-boyfriend. Maybe if she seen where Devlin was coming from, instead of actually judging him. From what she heard, she prayed he wasn't a bad person. She didn't like that she had to hear, that he beat on another woman.

Especially him being racist.

What killed her the most, is how she works for his father, now it was going to be embarrassing if Devlin found out.

She scrolled through his timeline, and seen a lot of his friends supporting him, a guy wrote:

"My dude gets out today! He's been locked up for a minute now! I can't wait to see him! We're kicking it for sure tonight! Man, shit is crazy."

A girl had wrote: "Baby boy is finally out! Can't wait to see you love! I hope all is well, and tell sexy momma, I said hello!!" She didn't want to see the rest, so she clicked off.

"Girl, go back to his pictures! We have to see if he has any side girls or something!"

"No, this is ridiculous; We're being very nosey on this mans page, and we probably sound like stalkers, if we were in a book, and someone was reading this..."

Jared stared at her, and rolled his eyes.

"Let me see then."

She handed him the phone, and he went back on Devlin's page, clicking on his pictures. "Man, he parties with his momma!" Katrina got up, and took her and Jared's plate, placing it in the sink.

She didn't want to hear anymore about Devlin, and she didn't want to see things, that weren't meant for her to see. "I just don't feel like it's acceptable to be looking at his page, I'm sure other women don't do this." Jared got up, and leaned on the counter.

"Before I was gay; I had this little girlfriend, named Kami..." He paused.

"Yes, I had a girlfriend before."

"Anyways.. I was hanging out with her at her house, and we were cuddling on the couch, and she was on her phone so; I had grabbed her phone from her, and asked, if I could look through her pictures."

"She told me 'yeah'."

Katrina just growled, and placed her hand on her hips. He laughed, and continued.

"Anyways, she wasn't paying attention, so I was being nosey, and I found her Friendtime... This girl had my profile already popped up... I was utterly shocked like; What is she doing on my page? She just said, 'ha ha' and stared at me. And then I went through her phone, and found a picture of me, from my Friendtime."

Katrina just nodded, and put away the plates. "My point is, everyone is nosey; The people that say, they aren't nosey, are the ones that actually are nosey, and they hide it better than everybody else." He glanced at his phone, and showed her the picture of Devlin and the same girl, that had her arm around his waist.

"It say's here, that him and Miss Deena are not in a relationship anymore on his timeline. That means; They dated, and she broke up with him recently, maybe a week before he got out of prison."

She stared down at the phone, and instantly realized that, that was the same girl from 'Marcolini's; The one with her friends, sitting in a booth, next to them. She was in deep thought, but Jared kept chattering away. "I wish they didn't tell you, as soon as you break up with the person, that you stopped being in a relationship, so the whole world can see, that is so embarrassing..."

When Devlin returned home, he silently set his keys on the counter, and placed his coat on the hanger. He happily remembered, buying the apartment for his mother. The inside was still nice, it's an upstairs, three bedroom; In the inside, you had to walk up the stairs, from the front door, and the kitchen was huge; He remembered his friends, picking out the dark brown cabinets for them. Jude wanted the gray ones; But Franco insisted, that it would be brown, to match the couch.

His mother had changed the couches, from the ones he first bought. He guessed that she bought more stuff from Mariana, his aunt in Armenia. The couches were foreign and grand. The Persian rug sprawled out in front of the T.V, and their little Pomeranian happily bounced towards him, tugging on a toy. It was woody from toy story. Devlin rolled his eyes, and snatched the toy away from his dog.

He pulled the string.

'There's a snake in my boot!'

It was funny how his mother still had that thing. He looked around and pet his dog, then strolled towards his room; Passing his mother's bedroom, which did not have a door. His mother sprawled across her bed, passed out, her tiny snores, made his dog curiously jump on her bed, and lay at the end. The apartment could have had an actual third bedroom; But with his unit, they just decided to make an extra, back living room. His mother didn't mind, she was hardly home, with work and partying.

Minerva homes were weird that way, he liked it though. When he reached his room, and opened the door, it was like walking into a time capsule. His room was the same; Small, with a spacious walk in closet, next to his bedroom window. His twin bed got replaced with a queen size set, in the middle of the room, his flat screen was neatly placed on top of his new drawer. He sat down on his bed, and decided he was going to take a shower.

When he got into the bathroom, he found his sister curled up in the bathtub. It reeked of vodka, and cranberry juice. He sighed, and picked her up. She coughed, and pieces of her throw up, landed on his cheek.

"Yeah, I'm definitely taking a shower." He grumbled.

He placed her in her room, and seen a dark figure, hunched over on the side of her bed. He turned on the light, and found a kid her age, laying out on the floor, it was a boy.

"Hey." His deep voice boomed, filling the room. "Get up!" The kid stirred, and stared in the wrong direction, he finally glanced up at Devlin, then widened his eyes, staring at him in shock. He quickly stood up; and dusted his pants off, he tiredly stood there, with his hand on his lap.

"Tig said I can stay here tonight; We went out to eat and drank here."

Devlin stared down at his sleeping sister, and placed her on the bed.

"Are you kidding me? you guys are only thirteen... Fucking; Too young to be drinking.."

"Well Tig said..."

"I don't fucking care, what my mom has to say, you guys are jus kids.. Growing up in Armenia..."

He sighed and scratched his head. There was no point in arguing with this kid. He obviously was extremely tired and drunk, he probably wasn't understanding him either. "Just go to sleep, make damn sure you're gone, before Jessie wakes up."

He turned off the light, and closed the door. He wasn't having it tonight; He wasn't going to put up with this either, he needed to speak with his mother. "She can't be letting Jessica drink at her age, and letting boys sleep in her room." He angrily thought. He went in the bathroom, and got ready for a hot shower.

When he got out of the shower, he gawked at the time.

'Four-Thirty.'

Around this time; He would be staring up at the rusted ceiling, in his cell, you could say that, he was blessed, to finally be staring up at his own ceiling, on an extremely comfortable bed. He didn't like hearing the wails at night; Men crying over their families, he heard a man had just lost his daughter, and he was praying all night in Spanish, making the other men grouchy, and causing them to argue. He was finally in the peace, and quietness of his own home.. He thought of what happened today...

He met a fine girl, but he was afraid that she would find out about him. He didn't want her to look at him differently. The smell of her perfume and hair, different mixtures of her scents. The way she made him feel.

Like seeing your food coming, at a resturaunt.

And how she was so humble and shy.

"Not annoying and loud like Deena is.." He was pissed off, that Deena and her friends were at that restaurant, and had the nerve to pretend like they didn't know who he was.

He caught Deena, staring Katrina down, like she was gutter. When Jude made a joke about being seated next to them, it was pretty obvious, that it was very awkward for the men. They knew Deena and Devlin dated. What was even more confusing, was how she broke up with him. A week before he was released, he tried to tell her the good news, and she cut him off by saying she was dating this guy, she met online.

He still had the other two chicks, but he hasn't heard from them just yet. He needed to check Friendtime. He went on his phone, and clicked the link; It had a log in, he was puzzled. "What the fuck is my password?" He tried to think of everything he would name. He even typed in his mother's name, and it still wouldn't go. He looked at his tattoo, and it finally came back to him.

He remembered his password; 'Persian Queen 97,' He liked Persian women. "There is just something about them." The password worked and it logged him in. He stared at all of the notifications, and felt too tired to go through the rest, so he went to his messages.

Fifty different messages from Deena. He rolled his eyes at the 'twenty more days till I get to see my hubby' to 'I can't do this anymore.' He scrolled down, and saw his old high school buddy's face, and clicked on his message:

"Dude, I don't know if you'll ever get this, I just wanted to know if the rumors about you are true?? I pray for you my friend. I cannot believe that you let race take over your whole life. I hope that you use your karma for a lesson, you teach your kids. Why'd you do it huh? He was a good guy and you ended his life for no..."

He clicked out of the message, and then kept scrolling. And tried to decide if he even wanted to write a status update, he doesn't really like social media. But he needed to get something, off his chest, and he wanted his friends to know the truth....

'Finally out, words cannot describe how disappointed I am, at some of my 'friends'. You think I would do something that
Hyannis, do I look like the fucking grim reaper.' He then deleted the cursing, because he remembered he had a ton of family on there. Do I look like the type of person? I have never taken anyone's life, and I never will, this chick was wailing on me...

He deleted the whole thing, and stared at his phone for a good while, then rubbed his eyebrows with his thumb. He opened the window, and took out a cigar from his drawer, next to his bed. He didn't need to let Friendtime know about his problems. The dead man's family was already mad that he got out, and probably out to get him. Still not believing that the man that killed Jasmines boyfriend, is currently on death row.
That was what; Was instructed from his father, for him to say, if the townsfolk ever asked him.

He played that night again, in the back of his head. It was like reliving a nightmare. The pieces of brain on the sidewalk, and Jasmine screaming at the top of her lungs, as she held her boyfriend's head in her hands. He tightly shut his eyes, and broke off the tip of the cigar, lighting it.

"Are these things ever going to get better?"

He decided music was the key to drown out his sorrows. He wanted so badly to play music, while he thought of those negative images at night in his cell. He pulled his music player, and scrolled through his playlist finding 'Fix You' by Coldplay. He loved the lyrics... When you get what you want, but not what you need... When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep.. Stuck in reverse...

He decided, that he wasn't going to let something tragic, determine his life cycle. It was his life of course, and he needed to make a change, and make things right. His father needed help; And he was going to help him, the best way, that he could, by taking over. It was time for him to start living again, because even though he was very much alive; A part of him felt dead. He lost a side of him, that he doesn't think, he'll ever get back...

Katrina woke up around five, because her and Jared, had to head to work around seven. Her boss had called everyone into work early, it was an emergency meeting. Last night; Jared slept in the guest bedroom, but, she woke up to hear him yawning next to the side of her bed, on the floor, covered in her new blankets.

"It was too lonely in that room."

She giggled, and wiped her eyes. "You can take a shower first, I'll start the coffee, and breakfast croissants." He happily stood up, and darted towards the other room to get his bag.

Coming back to her room to head towards the bathroom. While she checked her phone, she received a text message from her sister:
