"Seriously Xandra! You need to take care of yourself." My mom scolded me, for the hundredth time.

"I'm sorry, mom." I muttered as I stared at my fingers.

"Oh, Xandra." My mom said, as she pulled me into a hug.

She pulled away, as Dad proceded to give me a hug as well.

Peter stood there, awkwardly.

I internally snickered at him.

"Won't you give me a hug, Pete?" I asked him, as I opened my arms.

Peter awkwardly started moving towards me, but I dropped my arms.

"I wasn't serious." I smirked at him, only to cause him to roll his eyes.

Pete seemed to do that a lot when in my company.

"I had a question, momma bear." I said, looking at mom, who was talking to dad about something.

"What is it, sweetie?" She asked me, stopping her conversation.

"How did...I end up in the hospital? And weren't you guys, out of town?" I asked mom and dad.

This question has been bothering me for the last thirty minutes.

"Jessica called me honey. She told me that you fell of the stairs and injured yourself. And that Cole got you admitted to the hospital when we reached here." My mom explained.

I remember falling of the stairs.

And passing out as well.

But, how did Cole and Jessica enter my house?

"Honey, is something going on between Cole and y--" I cut my dad off.

"Nothing dad. Nothing's going on. He's just the guy next door and I'm the girl next door, who study in the same school, and belong in the same friends circle and our moms are friends as well and our dads are business partne--" I was cut off by Peter.

"The question here is, are you just friends with the Parker boy?" Peter's annoying voice rang through my head.

I took a deep breath, and then sighed.

"Yeah."

Dad didn't look satisfied though. Mom was smirking and Peter had that victory look on his face.

Peter wants his butt to get kicked once we are alone.

"Listen honey, you don't need to lie to me. After all, when I didn't object anything when you were with that James boy, why would I object if you're with my friend's son?" He questioned.

I gulped.

"Dad. I am not with Cole. We are just friends. And please, do not compare Cole with James." I said, looking away.

"I hope he doesn't hurt you like James." My mom said, much to surprise.

"Mom please, why would he hurt me? I thought you liked Cole?" I could'nt help but ask.

"I do. It's just that I'm so worried for you." She reasoned.

I nodded.

"He is still out, isn't he?" Peter asked my mom.

Who is out?

"You're friends, dear." My mom answered, and I realized I said my last thought loudly.

"Oh." I said, my mouth forming a 'o' shape.

My mom chuckled.

"I'll have a talk with that Cole boy." My dad said, and my eyes widened.

"Dad, no." I whined, giving him a pleading look.

I don't want Dad to embarrass me in front of Cole.

He sighed.

I won.

He nodded at me.

He sighed as he  looked at mom, as she nodded her head before he looked back at me.

"You know...about that James boy, I've heard that he got discharged from the asylum?" My dad asked me.

"Yeah."

"I need you safe, Xandra. If he does anything to contact you, just let me know. Because I won't be leaving him this time." My dad strictly told me.

He knew?

"Okay. But there's a Ninty nine  percent  chance that he won't try to contact me. Like, how would he know I'm here?" I asked him.

"But Xandra...there is something you should know. I've heard that he's searching for you." Peter said, staring at me.

"Yeah, Tyler told me about that." I said, giving everyone a fake smile, trying to reassure them that I wasn't scared.

Just as my dad was about to tell me something, his phone rang, causing him to excuse himself as he left the room.

My momma bear told me not to worry about myself, as she went to the cafeteria to eat something.

I told Peter to call my friends inside.

I'm injured. I have the right to boss people around.

In about a second, all my friends entered the hospital room.

Jessica and Samantha had a guilty look on thier face.

Ryder looked as if he was trying very hard, not to laugh.

The rest of them were giving me sympathetic looks, other than Cole.

Cole had a blank expression on his face.

Jessica nudged Sam, who looked at her alarmed.

Sam cleared her throat, as she opened her mouth to speak.

"W- we are sorry. We didn't know the prank would go this far. All we wanted to do was, have some fun. We thought that since you're so scared of ghosts, we could just help you overcome it. We didn't know you would fall off the stairs and injure yourself. We really are sorry." She said in one breath.

Are you kidding me?

I felt my blood boiling, but I didn't say a word.

I am stuck in this hospital for the next two fucking days.

I can't go to school for the next one week.

All because of a fucking prank.

"Please say something." Jessica nervously whispered.

I won't. I won't talk to them. I'll never talk to them.

I ignored them.

Just to get my mind of them, I started searching for my IPhone.

I could feel all of my friends eyes on me.

I searched under the pillow, on the night stand, in the drawers of the night stand, even under the bed.

But I couldn't find it.

Where was it?

I heard a sob, as I stopped searching for my phone.

Looking at my friends, I realized that David and Mason were here too.

And, David was crying.

I felt my heart ache as I saw the cute little boy crying.

"Hey, stop crying." I whispered, as I pulled David closer to me, by holding his wrist.

I wiped his tears which were trailing off his cheeks, but he didn't stop crying.

He was crying. A lot.

Making space for him to sit in front of me on my bed, I told him to sit down.

I grabbed a tissue from the tissue box kept on the night stand, as I used it to wipe away his tears.

"I-I sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have pushed you. I was scared." He said, trying his best not to cry, but in the end, he cried his eyes out.

"This is my fault too. I panicked too when I saw you." I said giving him a small smile.

"B-" I cut him off.

"Sshh. It's okay." I  said; I noticed that everyone in the room were either staring at me, or David.

David calmed down a bit.

"Do me a favor, will you?" I asked him.

He nodded his head rapidly, as he wore his specs.

"Be my friend." I said, smiling at him.

David stared at me for a minute.

For the first time in life, I was getting rejected by a fucking six years old.

"Okay." I heard him say.

Looking at him, I smiled as I crushed him in a bear hug.

He was hesitant at first, before he hugged me back.

Pulling away from David, I noticed that everyone was still looking at us.

"You'll be a great mom, one day." Cole said, causing everyone to look at him.

"What? I'm serious. It's like she has a spell on kids or something." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Hey, are you still not going to talk to us?" Ryder asked me.

I ignored him.

I felt someone poke my arm.

Jessica.

"Please." She said, giving me her puppy eyes.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

Cole rolled his eyes, as he dragged a chair beside my bed, and sat down.

"Why aren't you talking to us?" He asked me.

I remained quiet.

David stared at Cole, before looking at me. He had a little smirk on his face.

What the hell is he thinking?

"Kitten..." Cole trailed off.

"Don't." I said, my voice cracking a little.

"Don't what?" Cole asked me.

I closed my eyes.

"Don't talk to me unless you have to say the S word." I said stubbornly, looking at the door of that hospital room.

It was closed.

"What S word? Sex?" He asked me.

I could feel him smirking.

"No. The word that starts from S and ends with Y." I said, through gritted teeth.

"We are sorry." Jessica blurted out.

"Why did you say it? I was going to tease her a little more." Cole said.

Can you believe this guy?

Turning to face Cole, I glared at him.

"Are you seriously saying that? After all the drama you've caused. I will never ever talk to you. You're an ungrateful monkey who thinks he can just get away with everything. But, I guess you haven't met someone like me before. Just so you know, I am going to take revenge. And I can imagine you crying, after the revenge. Just wait Cole Parker, just wait." I said, as I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Cole had an amused expression.

I want to slap him so bad.

"So...are we forgiven?" Ryder asked.

"Yeah, everyone except Cole." I huffed out.

"I know what's gonna happen next. Cole will make it up for her." I heard Sam mutter, to Jessica.

"Yeah. Like how Brody makes it up for me, whenever I'm upset." She muttered back.

"What?" I asked them.

"Nothing." They said, in  a unison.

"Why the fuck would Cole make up for me?" I could'nt help but ask.

"That's how boyfriends do, silly." Jessica explained, in a duh tone.

I stared at her as if she had grown a second head.

"He's not my boyfriend." I stated.

"Yet." Cole muttered under his breath, only I heard it.

"What? He isn't?" Sam asked, surprised.

I nodded.

"Can you pass me the glass of water?" I asked her, as I pointed at the glass full of water, kept on the table beside Sam.

She nodded as he passed me the glass of water, which I gladly took.

Then realisation hit me like a brick.

I noticed that Sam wore a plain ring in her index finger.

Does this mean...

Peter barged in the room, as he hurriedly passed me his phone.

I raised an eyebrow at him, as I stared at his phone.

"Mr. Smarty pants is online. He wants to face time you. And, let me warn you, he's angry." Peter explained, then pointed at his phone.

I kept the glass of water aside, as I took the phone from his hand.

Connecting to him, I waited for him to pick up my call.

He did.

As soon as I saw his handsome face, I felt my lips stretch up into a big smile.

His dirty blonde hair, and his blue eyes, were the first things I noticed.

"Tay Tay. " I breathed out, as I stared at his not-so-happy face.

"Really, is that what you're gonna say?  After getting into an accident again, you say 'Tay Tay.' I shouldn't have left you there all alone. Like seriously, you're even more clumsy than Jasmine. You're eighteen for God's sake. How the fuck did you slip over the stairs?" He asked me.

Tyler was my unofficial father.

I was aware of the fact that all my friends and Peter were still in the room, meaning they could here everything.

"I just...fell." I tried explaining. Tried.

"Do you even know how worried I got, when Pete told me about the accident."  Tyler continued.

I shot Peter a glare.

He simply smirked at me.

"Oh look, you aren't even listening to me." Tyler drawled.

"Oh look, you're still acting like my dad." I drawled back, unamused.

"This is what I get? Like first, I found out that James is coming back to your school, and then I found out that you got yourself into an accident. I am so worried for you..." He trailed off.

Did I hear him correctly?

I gulped.

James was coming back to my school.

James was coming back to my school.

James was coming back to my school.

Then it hit me,

JAMES FUCKING CAGE WAS COMING BACK TO MY FUCKING SCHOOL.

"Xandra...are you okay?I'm sorry I brought James up. Xandra please look at me." I heard Tyler say.

All I could think was,

What am I going to do?

Why is he coming back?

My life is over.

"Xandra." I felt Cole's hand on my shoulder.

My eyes widened as I realized that everyone in the room must be thinking about who James is. Or worse, they might be thinking if it was the same James they knew.

I felt Cole's big hand, rubbing my back up and down, soothingly.

I took a deep breath in, and a breath out.

"I-I'll call you l-later, Bye Tay." I said, and without waiting for a reply I hung up.

I passed the phone back to Peter, who was looking at me worriedly.

Stay strong, Xandra.

After finally calming down, I closed my eyes and leaned back at the bed's rod. James' last words rang through my head, again and again.

"I'll get you, Xandra. That's a promise."

Opeing my eyes, I stayed as calm as I could.

"Hey Xandra." I heard Ryder say.

"Yeah?" I said, still taking deep breaths.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

No, I'm not. I just found out that your brother's murderer and my best friend's rapist and murderer was coming back to my school, because he is in love with me. And he wants me back. Not to mention, that he's a psychopath.

"I'm okay."

I gave everyone a big fake smile.

"Well, can I ask you something?" Ryder asked me.

"You just did." I said, trying to cool down.

Cole was still rubbing my back. He drew circles with his thumb, and I relaxed.

"I'm serious." Ryder said.

"Okay. Go ahead." I nodded my head.

I silently prayed that he wouldn't ask me about James.

"Are you really James' ex girlfriend?"
