[tis my first itzy ship since debut. always thought they looked ADORABLE. and they are adorable, fite me.]

[..super duper belated happy bday to our lovely maknae, yuna :') that sounds horrible but i just had to for her birthday :<]

[late birthday]

On a crisp winter night, Shin Ryujin was out and about in the streets of Seoul on her own. She kept her hands comfortably tucked in her coat's pockets while she strolled down the street.  She looked around, seeing the liveliness and the excitement and the joy in everyone's eyes.

Christmas was hastily approaching after all.

She lightly sighed to herself, her breath almost visible in front of her as she did so.

Just then, Ryujin came to an abrupt stop as she looked up ahead, seeing her bandmate. Why'd she think so? The girl literally had her big jacket that had ITZY's logo at the back wrapped snuggly on her. And only their group's members were allowed to wear that kind of jacket outside the company.

The tall girl was looking in the windows of a nearby bakery, one hand nonchalantly on it.

When she squinted her eyes to see which member of ITZY the girl was and what her eyes were fixated on, she spotted a lone birthday cake sitting all by itself on the other side of the window.

As the girl remained unmoving and gazing at the cake, Ryujin began to approach the girl.

"Yooow, wassup, uhh..?" She tried to take a guess again at the girl's beautiful side profile, but the latter immediately turned to her as soon as she heard Ryujin's voice greet her.

Oh, it's Yuna.

No wonder the perfume was so familiar. Only Shin Yuna owned that same perfume she used since trainee days, while the other members switched from perfume to perfume, like, every two days.

"Oh. It's you, unnie!" Yuna smiled widely at Ryujin as a greeting as she also waved. "Hey, didn't see you there."

Ryujin glanced at the cake in the window. "Were you looking to buy something from the bakery?"

Oh, did she forget? "N-No. Not really. I was just thinking about something that's TOTALLY not a big deal. But . . ." Yuna paused for a second and gazed at the cake again. "that cake DOES look good, doesn't it?" She gave the older a side glance with her matching small, sort of somber smile.

Clueless Ryujin slowly nodded in understanding, before something suddenly hit her tiny brain. "Ah, crap. Now I remember. Your birthday was weeks ago, wasn't it?" She asked, mentally slapping herself for not realizing it sooner.

"Y-Yeah, you're right. Guess you forgot with all the interviews and shows we've been attending for this month, hm? It's seriously stressing me out bit by bit, too," She said and turned her body to Ryujin.

Now that Ryujin could see the full view of her, her eyes along with her eyes instinctively smile.

Yuna was wearing the baby pink sweater that Ryujin knitted for her and gave her last year on Christmas Eve.

She tried her best. Even went out of her way to personally purchase the materials and equipment she would need to knit a decent sweater, if not perfect.

The sweater had a few flaws on it once she finished her work, but her heart was there. She pour all her sweat on that sweater and she was glad Yuna accepted it with the brightest smile Ryujin has ever since.

Ryujin turned back to the cake again, her eyes quite unfocused. "We weren't able to celebrate it, right? Our schedule was fuller than full of December 9. Back in the dorm, we also didn't have time to prepare for it, and didn't bother to buy you cake," She frowned.

Yuna's face started to turn red as she looked away. "Well, we did have a long day after all. It's understandable, but thank you for being concerned for me, unnie. It's no biggie, really."

Ryujin's hand then began to slowly turn sweaty in her coat's pockets when Yuna had suddenly turned away from her. Crap, she shouldn't have brought up the topic.

"I-I'm sorry," Did Shin Ryujin just stutter? She mentally slapped herself once again. "I... didn't mean to say something that would upset you," She made a slight bow to Yuna, which startled the younger.

She waved her hands in front of her, an embarrassed smile on her lips. The light blush was still there, but that didn't matter now that Ryujin, who was older for god's sake, had bowed to her.

"U-Unnie! Stop that, come on, I'm not upset!" Yuna took a step towards Ryujin and held her shoulders before patting them. "I just said it was no biggie, didn't I?" she said, jokingly shaking the blonde.

But Ryujin saw through her facade the moment she quickly turned away. She was obviously upset that they didn't get to celebrate her special day.

She's still a baby, I swear.

But what could she do?

"A-Anyway, I've got some errands to run. I'll, uhm, see you back in the dorm, unnie. Bye now..!"

Ryujin remained buffled, unsure of what to say to Yuna next. But when Yuna had bid her goodbye in a hurry, her hand reached out to her and grabbed the taller girl's arm, which surprised Yuna greatly.

Yuna looked back at Ryujin but then instantly met her sharp eyes with her wide ones.

"U-Unnie-" Oh god her throat's dry as hell and it's all Ryujin's fault. "Something wrong?" She asked nervously.

Ryujin gulped before saying, "If you don't mind, I'd..." Just say it already, Shin. "I'd like to ask if you might, uh, wanna hang out for a while longer? And don't worry, I brought my wallet with me."

Yuna gasped softly, "Woah, wait, hold up. Ryujin unnie, are ... are you asking me out?"

The blonde shot upright from embarrassment. She then swiftly let go of Yuna's arm flailing hers all about in a clumsy manner. "Pft, whaaaat?" She nervously laughed, backing a few steps away from the wide-eyed girl, "No! Of course not! I... I was just thinking us hanging out for a while might be fun, ya know? Plus, you might as well consider this a belated birthday gift from your amazing girlcrush unnie!"

"But isn't Yeji unnie the ultimate girlcrush in the group?"

"Oh shut it! It's obvious I'm more girlcrush than her!"

"Uh-huh," Yuna said, smirking a little before they both fell dead silent.

Ryujin's posture deflated and her hands turned into fists inside her coat. Had the temperature rise all of a sudden? Because she felt the air grow warmer and warmer as seconds passed the two ITZY members.

They stood there for another good minute, in front of the bakery shop, until Yuna finally spoke up.

"You said you brought your wallet with you, so yeah! I think I will take you up on that offer," She chuckled right after.

"Awesome!" Realization ran over Ryujin like a bulldozer and she lowered her voice, "I mean, yeah yeah, cool."

As they quietly walked along a street together hand in hand, Yuna said while sporting a huge grin, "Soooo, since you're treating me, I hope you won't mind if I act a little spoiled. You don't mind, do you, unnie?"

She's such a kid, mygahd.

Ryujin chuckled at seeing Yuna's grin, then shook her head, "Nah, not at all."

Heat spreaded across Yuna's face once she was sure Ryujin had her attention on something else. She was so grateful she had met the older the moment she was in too deep in her thoughts. If she had not came, she would have been crying her eyes out, idol or not.

With Ryujin's hand interlocked with hers, she felt a little more relaxed and free of stress. They were away from their source of stress. It made things better that Ryujin would be treating her anything she likes today.

She couldn't wait.

The sun had set, just the time Ryujin and Yuna's not exactly a date began.

As they walked with flushed cheeks, other people nearby would sometimes stop in their tracks to watch and giggle to themselves. They mayhaps believed they were a new couple who were starting out with only holding each other's hands.

Thank GodJihyo they didn't see their faces through their sunglasses, face masks, and black caps. That would have been a big great disaster.

Ryujin took a deep before turning her head towards Yuna. "So, Yuna-yah, where'd you like to go first?" She asked, nudging Yuna on her side with her elbow.

Yuna stared at Ryujin's side profile, then she stopped for a moment, causing the other girl to stop as well. "Well, looking back at the sweets in the bakery earlier got me a little hungry. You... maybe want to hit up a dessert buffet or something?"

Yuna had once again flashed Ryujin her blinding smile, so radiant and beautiful that it almost made her worries fade away. She nodded at Yuna with a small smile of her own.

"Totes okay with me. Sounds like fun. It's this way, come on, I'm already droolin'."

Yuna giggled before her grip on Ryujin's hand tightened.

Ryujin happily led the way as she partially sighed. Phew. For a minute, she thought Yuna would want to do something totally crazy.

However, unbeknownst to the two, someone who had the same jacket, sunglasses, face mask, and cap stayed away from any source of light as they watched 2shin from afar. An evil smirk plastered on their face while stroking their chin.

Huh, looks like my plans' working.

After they selected and picked their favored sweets, Ryujin and Yuna sat down together by the window of the famous sweets buffet she knew.

On Yuna's plate was a selection of all sorts of  sweets like mini pieces of fudge and cakes. And on Ryujin's plate was a simple slice of chocolate cake.

Yuna bounced in her seat as she picked up one of the fudge pieces she got, and then took a bite. Her face lit up with a loud cute hum

"Hmm!! Gosh, this is sooo good!" She squealed with joy.

Ryujin looked up from her cake to meet Yuna's sparkling eyes and chuckled softly.

"Didn't know you had such a sweet tooth," Ryujin teased with a smirk making its way to her lips.

Yuna stared back at her before she pouted her lips and turned away. "Yah unnie! You said I could spoil myself today, remember?" She reasoned, voice as quiet as ever it was almost impossible to be heard.

Ryujin snickered while she stared right into Yuna's eyes. Yuna huffed, continued with her glare towards the now laughing older but she eventually joined in the laughter as well.

At the table nearby, we could clearly see a disguised Hwang Yeji now in a coat and a fedora hat in her head.

"Hmm. So far, so good, Shin Ryu. Not a bad move yet. Still wonky, and hella whipped, but I guess that's normal."

The eldest of ITZY had her eagle eyes mode on. She carefully observed their every move.

"yes, yes, go closer! This is some gay shit right here."

She pat herself on the shoulder as Ryujin sat back on her seat after Yuna told her to move closer and let her wipe the icing on the corner of her lips. She had the biggest brightest blush Yeji has ever seen while Yuna had the stupidest smile ever.

What a great sight, indeed.

And this was all because of her, yes, because of Hwang Yeji. This was how it went:

Back in the dorm, before Ryujin had exited her bedroom right after her afternoon nap, Yuna had fled off somewhere, but did not tell anyone where she was planning to run off to, except for their leader, Yeji.

At all times, if not their managers, their leader should always be on a look out for her members.

When Ryujin had had her coffee, she asked Yeji if she knew a place she could run a few errands on since they've been cooped up in their dorm on their days off.

This gave Yeji an idea.

Ya'll probably know what happened next.

And then 2shin met in front of the bakery shop.

"Here, unnie. Try some of my fudge. You didn't really get a lot. But I'd feel bad if you didn't get to spoil yourself too. So... how 'bout it?" Yuna gently urged Ryujin to eat the piece of fudge on her fork.

Ryujin, still not recovering from the wiping-the-icing-off-her-face incident, froze up and took a loud gulp of her spit, her face burning up once again. Her eyes fixated on the fudge in Yuna's fork.

Yuna whined quietly at seeing the unmoving Ryujin staring at the piece of fudge. "Come on now, unnie. Say 'aahhh'!"

As the older remained frozen, Yeji squinted her eyes closely at blonde's next move.

"Just do it, dude. Don't be a pussy, or I swear to Jisoos-"

Almost a second later, Ryujin quickly swallowed her pride. It's alright, nobody would find out Shin Ryujin had given her whipped as to Shin Yuna in public. Nobody.

She slowly leaned in, so slowly that Yuna became impatient and literally shoved the fudge in the blonde's mouth.

Ryujin almost choked but then recovered instantly. She started to chew, a smile making its way to her face. "Daebak.. you're right. This is good! I should've grabbed some earlier."

Yuna grinned and giggled. "We can always share, don't you worry!"

"Good move, Shin, good move," Yeji rolled off her sleeve and looked down on her wrist watch. She glanced up at the two idiots and smiled before nodding to herself. "My job here's done, then."

She paid for her bag of sweets and went back to their dorm, excited to give her girlfriend, Choi Jisu, the sweets she had purchased.

At exactly 11pm, Ryujin and Yuna sat side by side on a bench that stood nearest to the shimmering water of Han River.

The bag of sweets Yuna had left untouched earlier laid by their feet as the said girl let out a sigh of relief.

"Gosh, unnie. I don't think I ever had a birthday more fun than we went through today," She said and looked down on her feet. "Thank you so much."

Ryujin side glanced at Yuna then smiled. "I'm glad I was able to lift up your spirits, Yuna-yah. I thought you would've stayed gloomy, even though the holidays," She said and laid her back comfortable on the bench they both sat on.

Yuna sighed lightly to herself. "Yeah, same here."

When Ryujin didn't hear her add anything else, a look of worry was instantly plastered on her face.

"But you, unnie . . ." Yuna spoke again, "you made all the worry and sadness disappear. I'm glad it was you who I met on the streets today. Thanks to you reaching out, I have no reason to feel sad anymore," She finished with a flash of her famous energizing smile.

Ryujin had nothing to say to that. Her heart was beating too much for her liking and she couldn't think of what to say. Instead, she let blood rise up to her cheeks and asked, "How great would you say this day has been, then?"

"Priceless..." Yuna replied with a whisper. "Oh yeah, before I forget..."

Ryujin watched as Yuna bent down to grab the paper bag next to her bag of sweets, and turned back to her, a light blush on her cheeks that Ryujin thought was so illegally adorable.

"I know this is supposed to be my special day we're celebrating today, but I... I wanted to give you something for making me happy. Accept this as an early Christmas gift from me. Here," Yuna handed the paper bag to Ryujin.

Smiling warmly at Yuna, Ryujin set the bag down between them. "Thanks Yuna-yah. I'mma open it later in the dorm. For now, This is still your late birthday, pabo."

Her heart skipped a few beats. Calm down, calm down.

Yuna quickly averted her gaze from the smiling Ryujin. It didn't last a second longer as the older blinked a few times.

"Yuna? Hey, what's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" Ryujin anxiously asked, her foot unconsciously tapping on the grass underneath them.

Yuna slowly looked back at her. "Well, kinda.. but that's not important right now. Actually, there is one more thing I'd like to ask you to do for me. If- If you'd allow me to be selfish one more time," she muttered.

She shyly hinted at Ryujin to come closer.

She did as told, leaning towards Yuna and turning her head. "What is it?"

Suddenly, Ryujin felt soft lips peck her cheek, causing her to flinch a bit from shock and almost nearly fumbled off the bench.

She placed her palm on her reddening cheeks. Did- Did she just- Oh My Gadhniss.

Yuna looked deeply into Ryujin's wide eyes before placing a hand over the blonde's hand on her cheek.

Her own cheeks lighting up her face, sharing the same shade of red Ryujin had. Despite the air getting more and more warmer around them, even with the low temperature, she happily gave Ryujin her sweetest, warmest smile ever.

A smile she could only give to Shin Ryujin.

"Thank you, Ryujin unnie."

"For making this the best birthday I'll  never forget."
