Adeline Santiago's POV

I drag my cousin into the living room and turn to face her.

"Why so cold?" I ask her.
She shrugs and flops down on the couch.

"I can't respect him yet" she says and I sigh remembering that she doesn't trust anyone.

In the brief time our parents sent us to school together, she was always so protective of me. She would fight anyone just for looking at me wrong.

I sigh and sit next to her.

"What are we doing today?" She asks, grabbing the remote and switching on the television.

"We got a party later" I say getting up to go to the food cabinet behind us.

I turn around to see her face light up.

"Is your husband going?" She asks with a grin.

"Yes, Matéo is coming to the party" I say, smiling a little.

She chuckles and turns back to the television.

"He's handsome. I like him for you so far" she says.

I nod in agreement.

"Me too." I respond.

We just sit there and watch movies until Matéo walks in and calls me to the side.

Tabo gives him a side glance and goes back to the television.

She better relax.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asks me when we are out of earshot.

He now wears a shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Nah baby, you don't need to worry about her ok?" I tell him gently.

He shakes his head.

"I'm not worried!" He responds indignantly.

I internally roll my eyes at his bravado.

"Just try to be nice, ok?" I ask him, planting a couple of kisses on his lips.

"No promises" he grunts, kissing me back.

I smile.

"Thank you baby boy" I say, in between kissing him and then I pull away from him quickly before he can do anything.

I sit back on the couch and throw a bag of m&ms at Tabo, then open a bag of popcorn.

We sit and watch movies until the mid afternoon.

Then Tabo suddenly stands up and I see an idea flash on her face.

"Let's go shopping!" She says excitedly.

I flop down on the couch dramatically.

"Do we have to?" I whine.

She rolls her eyes and grabs my arm dragging me up and making me direct us to my room.

She goes through my closet and throws some clothes at me, before jumping onto my bed and then going on her phone.

"We are going shopping" she tells me.

I laugh and look at the clothes and sigh, before I put them on.

Matéo, might just hit the roof and backflip when he sees this outfit.

And not in a nice way either...

I look in the mirror and tie up my hair into a bun and sort out my edges, while Tabo goes into my closet, looking for something to wear.

"What you think?" She asks.

I turn around to face her and smile.

"You look good" I tell her.

"Same to you boo" she says with a grin.

"Can we go get food before we get to the party?" She asks and I nod.

We go down the stairs and I'm just about to step out of the house, when I feel my phone

Buzz with a text.

I look and see that It is Matéo.
He texts me, letting me know that he got called in for work but he'll definitely show up for the party.

After that, I put my phone away and we get to my car.

We sit inside and I drive us to the mall.

When we get there, we go into one of the fast food places and I spot Sebastian behind the counter taking someone's order.

I forget that he works here part time.

He says it's a 'change of pace'

He notices us and his face lights up.

He finishes taking the order and walks up to us, giving me a bone crushing hug.

"You better wear a jacket over that outfit, before Matéo sees!" He reminds me and I nod in response.

He is such a softie, once you get to know him.

I hug him back and then pull away.

"Hey, Seb what's good?" I ask.

He nods.

"Nothing much, who's your friend?" He asks me, noticing her.

His eyes skim over quickly and light up a little.

"This is my cousin, Tabo, she's visiting me a while" I tell him and he nods.

"Have y'all eaten?" He asks, gesturing to me and Tabo.

I look at Tabo briefly and catch her staring at Sebastian.

He catches her also and smirks, causing her to blush heavily.

"Nah we just came to buy some, actually" I say, hiding my smile, with not much success.

Sebastian's head suddenly snaps back in my direction.

"Hey, now what did I say about buying stuff, when I'm around?" He asks me, as if I've lost it.

"Sebs, it's not gonna kill you if I pay for my food, you know?" I tell him, hands akimbo.

He rolls his eyes and grabs my arm, leading us to a table.

"Paying won't kill you, but I will! And then Matéo will kill me. You want me to die?" He ask.

I scowl.

"Sit and order and if you even think about paying I'll return the money and tell Matéo, that you're the one who broke the punching bag last week" he says triumphantly and I glare at him.

"Fine!" I mutter.

"Good!" He says, pinching my cheek, like the idiot he is.

"Now, what can I get for you and this beautiful girl over here?" He asks, staring at Tabo again.

She smiles at him and her face turns slightly red.

"Erm, I'll just- I mean... Could I get the large burger with fries?" She stutters and he nods and writes it down.

"Same as usual, boss lady?" He asks and I nod, grinning at him knowingly.

He turns a little red and chuckles, writing my order down, then walking off.

As soon as he is out of earshot, Tabo sighs deeply.

"Who was that?!" She asks.

"That is... One of Matéo's best friends, Sebastian" I tell her.

Should I tell her about Matéo's business?

Nah!

She ain't need to know bout that.

She nods.

"You seem quite close to him..." She says, then trails off.

"Hm, yeah we're cool with each other" I respond, taking in her body language.

She stares at him again

She likes him.

He likes her.

Now, to get them together...

My thoughts are distracted, by the food arriving.

Sebastian gives us our food and gives me a hug, before he hands a piece of paper to Tabo.

"That's my number" he tells her, with a grin and her eyes widen in shock.

"You should call me later, so I can show you round" he says a little shyly and then he walks away, hands in pockets.

I chuckle at her as she stares after him, mouth wide open.

This should be good.
