Matéo Santiago's POV

We arrive at the restaurant in a matter of minutes.

I step out of the car first and offer her my hand, which she takes and steps out of the vehicle.

I wrap my arm around her waist and lead her inside.

We go to the front desk.

"Good, evening, may I help you?" A lady at the front desk asks.

She has long red hair and a figure eight like frame.

She looks directly at me, green eyed and with freckles scattered across her face, but it doesn't seem to register in her brain as to who I am.

She must be new.

"Could I speak to Donatello?" I ask her.

I now, have her full attention.

None of the employees here, ever call Donatello by his first name....

Ever.

"I am sorry, the boss is a little... Preoccupied at the moment" she stutters, her face going a little bit pink.

I sigh and roll my eyes.

"What is he doing now?" I ask her.

Or rather, who...

"I am sorry sir, but I am not obliged to give you such informa-" She starts, but a loud voice cuts her off.

Donatello Maguire.

He has been my closest friend since forever and I trust him with everything I have.

"Matéo! You never told me that you were going to be here, this evening, I would be prepared!" He exclaims, straightening out his suit jacket and combing a hand through his messy jet black hair.

I try not to smirk, as I see a dark haired girl standing awkwardly behind him.

Her makeup is a little smudged from crying also and her clothes, are a little crumpled.

I know that look.

She has just been turned down by Donatello.

Poor girl, probably thought she had a chance at breaking through to him.

She's definitely attractive though, with her long brown hair, wide blue eyes and petite frame.

But she isn't Adeline.

She isn't my baby...

"Good, evening Donnie" I say giving him a knowing look.

He laughs and then we hug each other.

His attention suddenly turns away from me and towards something else.

Adeline.

"What do we have here?" He asks me, his lips slowly twitching into a smile.

I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her closer to me.

"Donnie... Meet my wife, Adeline Santiago" I say gently and I can suddenly feel everything inside me melt as she smiles shyly and extends her hand in greeting.

Donnie looks back and forth between us and ignores the handshake, rather grabbing her arm instead, and giving her a big hug.

He tells her something in her ear to which she nods with a small smirk.

Before long, he lets go of her and starts talking to the woman at the front desk, who didn't know us, who now looks rather sheepish.

"Jane!" He snapped, making her stand attention and nearly lay an egg.

"I want the best service going, for my friend and his wife and I want you to be in charge of that" he demanded.

"Me?!" The poor girl squeaks, pointing a trembling finger at herself.

"Is there anyone else, in this establishment called Jane?" He sighs, giving her a little glare.

"No, sir!" She responded and turns around quickly to do as she is told.

"And Jane!" He calls out, making her turn around to face us.

"Meet me, in my office, once you are done..." He says, giving her a once over slowly and then a small but trademark killer grin.

The waitress seems to melt a little on the inside and I swear that I could have seen even her pupils dilate, before she turns away shyly to continue with her work.

The brunette girl behind him looks shocked and as if she's about to cry again.

He turns around and walks past her, hands in his pockets.

I shake my head at my friend and turn to follow the waitress.

Less than a few minutes later, we are sat down at a really well set table.

The red silk table cloth reaches the ground and two wine glasses sit opposite each other with a single black rose sits in a clear glass vase in the middle of the table.

Didn't know that we were coming, huh?

The waitress, Jane let's us sit down and  tells us politely that service will be present in a few minutes.

I turn to face Adeline to see her staring at me, but then looks away once I catch her.

"Baby, are you ok?" I ask.

She nods, giving me one of her small shy smiles.

"Thank you for taking me out" she says.

I nod and return her smile.

"You can thank me later" I tease and she bows her head, turning away shyly.

"What, you don't think you've eaten enough?" She asks me.

My jaw drops and I go slightly red, but then I compose myself.

"I'm a big boy. I eat a lot" I tell her and she rolls her eyes, looking away.

Wow...

I can't believe that this beautiful girl is all mine....

I just stare at her for a bit until my thoughts are distracted by a very annoying voice.

"Hello there, my name is Jessica and I will be serving you today" the voice says.

I look away from my wife and nearly choke on my own saliva, as I see more boobs than face, right up in front of me.

An overly enthusiastic waitress stands waiting for me to answer her.

She wears clothes that are clearly too small, with her hair tied into a ponytail and her makeup caking her face, red lipstick staining her chin and teeth a little.

She doesn't even look at Adeline once and smiles at me way too widely.

I roll my eyes, much to her shock and I hand her the menu.

"I will have the steak, medium-well" I respond coldly.

She nods scrawling down my order in her notebook.

"And for your date?" She asks, turning to Adeline.

"Perhaps a salad?" She asks giving her a once over slowly.

Did she just-

I am about to get angry, but Adeline grabs my hand from underneath the table gently, interlocking our fingers, and I relax.

"No, actually I'll have the giant king prawn pasta, thank you" she responds calmly handing her the menu gently and the girl snorts.

"Typical fat bitches" she mutters under her breath.

I sit back in my chair as I see Adeline's face change from calm to being very annoyed.

"You know what?" Adeline asked the girl, not even raising her voice a little.

Her nails dig into my palm slightly, but I don't mind.

"You have a job. And if you want to keep it, I'd close that pretty mouth of yours and get it done. Insult me one time and I'll have to show you just where that gets you". Adeline says with a straight face.

The waitress stares at her in shock only blinking at her.

"Didn't you hear my wife?" I ask rudely.

"Get a move on, before I tell your manager that you're slipping up" I tell her.

She scoffs and turns on her thin short heels trying to swing her hips as if she has them as she walks away.

On her way, one of her heels suddenly give way and she crashes into the ground heavily, creating a scene.

I guess karma really is a bitch...

She tries to regain her composure but she just slips and falls again.

Everyone, including the rest of the waitresses and waiters watch in amusement.

She must be a known nuisance.

Finally, after several minutes of cursing and flushing with embarrassment, she gets up and continues with what she intended to do as if nothing happened.

As soon as she disappears, Adeline bursts out laughing.

"Adeline, you're so bad" I say pretending to chastise her.

She leans forward so that our faces are inches apart.

"You already know how bad I can be" she says quietly, biting her lip.

Before I can lean forwards to kiss her, she pulls away and giggles at the look on my face.

I grunt lowly under my breath.

She wants to play games?

Ok.

Let's play...
