11 days until the anniversary

Kenma sat down on his gaming chair and waited for the call from (Y/n). He had promised to call him as soon as school ended, to talk about what was with Kiana and how the coming out to her and Elena went.

Luckily, he didn't have to wait for long. Soon his phone buzzed and (Y/n)'s caller ID showed up on screen. Immediately Kenma picked up.

"Oh my God, you won't believe it", (Y/n) just started the conversation, getting right into it.

Kenma held in a laugh. "Tell me all about it", he said, ready to hear more of the juicy drama that (Y/n) calls his life.

"Ok, so, apparently Kiana is homophobic", (Y/n) explains, laying down on his bed.

Kenma was absolutely shocked. "Excuse me, what? What did she say? What did she do? You gotta be more precise than that!".

(Y/n) laughed at Kenma's neediness for gossip. "Of course. Well, you know how my coming outs usually go, I just say it right in their face, no big talk around it. Well, I did that, right? And she was all like 'no, you can't be gay' and like all of that bullshit. She literally started screaming over the whole table how I can't be gay!".

"Someone was dramatic, oh my...", Kenma quietly whispered, picturing the whole scene in front of him like a movie. "I'm really sorry this turned out so... negatively", he said. He knew it was partly his fault, cause (Y/n) came out for him.

"Don't worry about it! Honestly, I was more worried about Aaliyah, her reaction seemed rather odd... I mean, it's totally understandable reacting negatively if someone's homophobic, but the way she reacted was just really... sad, you know?", (Y/n) tried explaining, thinking back at Aaliyah.

After lunch he made sure to get her home safely, the whole day after she seemed off, as if she couldn't stop thinking about what happened. (Y/n) made sure to be there for her the whole day, hence him telling Kenma about it a whole day after. (Y/n) didn't want to let Aaliyah alone when she seemed to feel so upset. They ended up having a romance movie marathon and (Y/n) fell asleep at Aaliyah's, but what mattered was that the underclassman felt better afterwards.

Kenma hummed. "That's true, I Hope she's ok".

There was a short silence between the two, before (Y/n) could be heard sighing. "Why are coming out's so hard? You Never know how the other person would react! Kiana was my first bad experience in real life, but still", he whined.

Kenma nodded, despite him knowing (Y/n) wasn't able to see him. "Yeah, coming out's Are really tough...".

The two chatted on for a while, talking about anything they wanted. If it's video games, coming outs, their undying love for each other, making fun of each other for being cringe, and so on.

Kenma didn't even notice his door open, and his mother standing in his doorway. At first, his mother thought her son was talking to a friend, like Kuroo or Hinata, until she listening in on the conversation a bit.

"I would've never expected you to be so cringey when we first started dating", a male voice from her sons phone spoke. Dating? She didn't know that her son is in a relationship! And with a boy?...

Kenma scoffed. "Whatever, you still love me anyways", he spoke, a slight smile on his face. There was no doubt to it now. Apparently, her son was in a gay relationship.

Kenma's mother didn't know what to do, or say. Should she interrupt their call? She definitely should, right? Her only son being gay?

Kenma's mother grew up in a very conservative household. Any type of disobedience or "rebellion" as her parents would call it when she wasn't living up to their Standarts, would be punished. If she would've had a girlfriend at her time, that wouldn't have ended well.

Should She punish him too? If her parents were to find out, that wouldn't go well.

So maybe she should interrupt them.

"Kozume", she spoke firmly to her son. She could see him immediately tensing up at hearing her voice so suddenly behind him.

For a moment there was silence. No one spoke. Not Kenma, who was starring at his mom in horror. Not his mom, who was watching her son with a stern look on her face, thinking about what to do. And not even (Y/n), who at hearing the voice also immediately tensed up. He was scared for his boyfriend. He didn't know how his mom would react.

"I'll call you back", Kenma finally said any hung up Without saying anything after. For a moment, (Y/n) sat in silence in his room, processing it. He felt terrible, as if he'd just outed his boyfriend.

He knew he had to help somehow. And since he can't go over there himself, he had to text Kenma's best friend. (Y/n) was scared, after just having a bad received coming out himself. He doesn't want his boyfriend to experience something like that, especially not from his own mother.

(Y/n) was blessed with having amazing and respectful parents, who not once would question his way of living. His parents would let him make his own decisions and experiences, and most importantly, have him be his own person. He didn't want to know what it felt like if your mom isn't the person you first come to if something major happens in your life, or when your dad doesn't constantly praise you for doing so good. (Y/n)'s parents were comfort people to him, and he was sad Kenma wasn't able to have that.

On the other hand, (Y/n) was more than willing to give Kenma his mothers number, so he could have a new mother figure.

(Y/n) took out his phone and started texting Kuroo, Kenma's best friend. It was urgent, and it had to happen now.

14:09 || You
Hey, it's (Y/n). Kenma's mother
found on to him being gay on
accident. She didn't sound to
happy. Can you go check up on
them please?

Kuroo's phone dinged and a notification from his favorite Diarrhea popped up. It was 10 p.m. for the boy and he was currently in the shower, but after reading the text, never before he had jumped out of the shower so fast and got dressed.

He knew that Kenma's mother could get a little intense and serious at times. He has known her and Kenma since he was little, yet he didn't know how she would react to his accidental coming out.

As soon as he stepped out of the door, without thinking he called (Y/n), while jogging over to Kenma's house.

"Hello?", (Y/n) asked. He must've not checked the caller ID.

"It's me", Kuroo answered, more serious than his often carefree attitude. "I'm on my way to Kenma, what exactly happened?".

"Oh thank God", (Y/n) sighed. He was just grateful Kuroo would come to help, he trusted the guy. "Well, Kenma and I were just calling, and apparently she overheard our conversation at the wrong time. And she sounded kinda pissed? I don't know... but I'm worried".

Kuroo arrived at Kenma's doorstep. "Thanks for texting immediately, I'll tell you later what happened, alright? I'll go in. Thank you", and with that, Kuroo hung up the call.

Now (Y/n) was alone again. And he was scared. But he knew, he couldn't do anything but wait for an update. But he trusted Kuroo, he was sure everything would turn out alright after all.
