Malaria is one of the deadliest diseases especially in tropical areas, a favorite place for Female Anopheles mosquitoes to live. These mosquitoes carry tiny parasites of the genus Plasmodium that causes Malaria and can transmit it to mammals like humans. Perhaps, Plasmodium likes mammals because they are warm.

Anyway, fever, seizures, and acute kidney failure are the symptoms of malaria. However, it can be cured by tree bark. Thanks to the African local healers who discovered the healing power of certain tree bark, scientists found the compound that treats malaria and at the same time can kill mosquitoes. The bark of the Olon tree from Congo, part of the Citrus family, kills mosquitoes that spread malaria and also the creepy cockroaches and seed-greedy weevil. Its compound, Pellitorine is responsible for ending the life of mosquitoes while Dihydronitidin destroys the malaria parasite.

But that does not mean that by discovering this tree bark we will annihilate all those disease-carrying mosquitoes. Because if once ridden, it may have a ripple effect in the whole ecosystem. Mosquitoes, though it sucks, are still needed in ecological balance. Mosquito-predators need them. Perhaps the better way of not affecting their diet and prevent malaria simultaneously is by not being a lazy bum. Always practice good hygiene and clean the surroundings unless you're too generous to share your blood with those annoying bugs.
