Recap

I pulled off my boots and sunk down into the couch. And that's when I started thinking. Why did he kiss me? No one was around, I think. He's a player. He's probably just using me. Suddenly, the doorbell rang snapping me out of my thoughts. Sighing, I stood up and walked towards the door.

"She's not here," I groaned after opening the door.

"I'm not looking for her," The person said. I looked up and gasped.

"Zac?" I whispered.

Chapter 16

Brooke's POV

I glared at him and slammed the door shut, but Zac managed to still keep the door open.

"Brooke, I need to talk to you," He said slowly.

"How'd you know I was here? I just got home," I frowned still trying to get the door closed. Darn. Why did I tell him to go to the gym. I stood there for a few seconds.

Silence. He didn't reply yet. "Were you watching me?!"

More silence.

I opened the door quickly causing him to stumble a bit. "You were watching me." He ducked his head down trying to avoid my glare. "Tell me! Were you watching me?"

"Yes," He muttered.

"So did you see me kiss Adam?" I asked tilting my head to the side.

"Yes. I thought I told you to stay away from him," Zac glared at me.

"Oops," I smirked closing the door again, but like last time his hand was in the way.

"I'm not done," He declared.

"I am," I said pushing on the door, but he still managed to step inside.

"I said I'm not done yet," He frowned.

"You're inside my house," I frowned back, "I could call the cops or something,"

"Yeah, but you wouldn't," He smirked.

"Ok," I sighed. He knows me too well, "What do you want,"

He muttered something, but I didn't hear.

"What?" I asked.

"I'm sorry," He sighed. "I'm sorry."

"So you think if you just waltz in here and say 'sorry' I'm just gonna forgive you? That I'm going to forgive you for shunning me?" I accused.

"Um I don't know, Brooke. But please forgive me. I can make it up. I'll do anything," He pleaded.

"We've been best friends for twelve years, and you threw it all away," I stuttered. He just sat there, thinking. I stood up and walked out the door.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Zac yelped jumping up from the sofa to come follow me. Soon we were both outside on the porch.

"Zac," I said slowly.

"Yeah," He replied a little to eagerly.

"Go away!," I yelled as I stepped back inside and locked the door on his face. Just as soon as I closed the door, he started knocking. I just smirked and skipped towards my room.

Zac's POV

D*mnit. I pounded my fist against the door, but she still wouldn't open it up. Wait. . . Brooke never locks the backdoor. I made my way towards the back gate and carefully slipped inside. Brooke's two dogs were at my side in a minute. Which reminds me, was that really her and Adam at the park?

"Hey, guys," I said rubbing their heads, "Gotta go,"

I slowly crept to her backdoor and slid inside her house. This is like a freaking James Bond movie I thought. After rationalizing that she would be in her room I crawled up the stairs and into her room. Just as I thought she was on her laptop reading quotes and stories. Quietly, I crawled behind her and yelled.

And of course she screamed right back.

"Zac! What the heck?!" She yelled.

"Your f-face," I laughed rolling on the floor.

"It isn't funny," She frowned lightly kicking my stomach. But. . . That means she doesn't hate me, because if she did she would be beating me up by now.

"I'm sorry, and I know you don't hate me," I smirked. She glared at me, but said nothing. "So, was that you and Adam at the park?"

"Yup," She grinned, "Are you gonna leave yet??"

"No," I pouted stubbornly.

"Well then good night," She said as she crawled in her bed.

"It's only nine thirty," I frown.

"So," She says faking a yawn.

"You're not wearing pyjamas," I sighed. Rolling her eyes she got up out of her bed and pulled out a pair of cotton shorts and an over sized t-shirt.

"Happy?" She called as she climbed back into her bed in her pyjamas.

"Brooke. Get up I need to talk to you," I said shaking her.

"No," She answered.

"Okay then," I smirked as I climbed in right next to her.

"Get out of my bed. You're not welcome here anymore, "She muttered inching away from me.

"Not until you forgive me," I said persistently.

"Wait until Shawna hears about this; Zac and Brooke in the same bed at the same time," Brooke groans. Oh yea, Shawna; she'll be really mad.

"What about Adam? What would he do if he found out," I said trying to play it cool.

"He probably wouldn't care," Brooke said. I clenched my teeth. That got me thinking. Why doesn't he care? Clayton said ever since what happened with Blake, Adam was always protective over his girlfriends.

"Why do you like him? I thought you hated him?" I asked.

"Why are you still in my bed. I said you aren't welcome in it," She said pausing before she continued, "Right now, only Adam is,"

"You didn't answer my question," I said clenching my teeth.

"Why'd you tell me to say away from you? And now why are you back?" She said ignoring me.

"You have to answer my questions first," I frowned turning to gaze into her chocolate brown eyes.

Rolling her eyes she sighed, "Because he's cute, funny, and charming, and I don't hate him anymore. Your turn,"

"Oh look at the time, I need to go now," I said getting out of her bed.

"Jerk! Get back here! You need to answer my questions! I still haven't forgiven you yet!" Brooke cried grabbing my arm, but I shook her off. I expected her to get up and come after me, but she didn't.
