FRANKENSTEIN
07 | Proud Mary.

MY head snapped in the direction I came, eyes wide with panic. I quickly looked back to the field only to see an entire lot of vampires staring in my general direction. I was behind bushes and trees, so they were unable to see me directly.

The entirety of the field stayed silent, continuing to stare in the vicinity of myself. I inaudibly crouched down, so it would make it even harder for them to see me. I was terrified of being found. Of course, I didn't think I'd be hurt, but under the current circumstances, it was not the time to meet Aro.

Despite my absolute silence - I still carried one major problem. My heartbeat. Yes, my heartbeat was slower compared to that of anyone else, but it still beats. It still pumped inky blood through my body. It may have been harder for them all to pick up upon it - but they would eventually.

"Frankie?" It was Carlisle that spoke destroying the peaceful quiet. His voice caused everyone to turn to him. Aro held a joyful expression, seeing as Carlisle was calling out to me. It didn't take a genius to figure out he was keen on seeing me as soon as possible.

It was taking all my will to not respond. Just as I was about to give in and reveal myself, I heard something close by. A loud bang echoed the forest startling birds in different directions.

This was followed by another bang and the sound of metal scraping. It took me only seconds to realize I was hearing the sound of gunshots. The Volturi's face's seemed to morph into that of confusion, the same going for the Cullen's.

I watched as Carlisle's expression changed into that of recognition before he quickly grabbed his phone. This behavior drew almost everyone's attention. When Carlisle's face turned into slight panic, Edward finally stepped in.

"Carlisle, what is it?" His voice seemed to float.

"I've had over thirty missed call's from my co-workers," Carlisle stated in a flat tone. The Cullen's gave him a knowing look, Aro holding a thoughtful face, while the rest seemed utterly perplexed.

"I hardly deem it appropriate to be conversing with your human colleagues at this time." Caius hissed at Carlisle seeing him beginning to dial a number. Aro held his hand out as a sign of peace.

As Aro was replying I quickly used their distraction to my advantage running noiselessly to where I had left Laura. As I ran the forest seemed to pass by in a flurry of movements.

I was faster than before, a lot faster.

Due to this intense speed, I arrived at Agent Laura in less than two minutes. However; as I stood in the treeline what I saw shocked me to my core, chaos. Agent's of SHARE lined the road fighting members of the terrorist group. I noticed right away that SHARE was fiercely outnumbered.

However; this didn't seem to be an issue as all of SHARE'S agents were trained to the best of their abilities and were easily holding their own. Gunshots rang out as people fired at the opposing side and used hand to hand combat in taking them down.

"Frankie, I'm going to kill you!" Laura's voice scolded me. I turned my head in the direction of her voice only to see her fighting off five men at once.

Laura Marshall was many things. Spunky, flirty, confident, but none more than hot-headed. Laura Marshall was hot-head fueled by anger if I've ever seen one. In other terms, she was a cold, callous woman. Of course, she had her exceptions - those exceptions being the small percentage of people she actually liked. Such as myself, Dr. Carson, Carlisle, and her close friend; Agent Clifton Monroe, those were the only people I've ever seen her nice too.

This hot-headed trait had perks though. The greatest accomplishment being helping her when it came to combat. Laura held no mercy, what so ever when it came to fighting. This made her one of the greatest agents at SHARE, along with the one and only Clifton Monroe. In my opinion, if one of the two were to ever be turned into the immortal creatures known as 'vampires' the world would never know what hit them.

My attention stayed fixated on Laura as she kicked one man in the head sufficiently knocking him out. She punched another breaking his nose, and flipped the next man that came at her. "Behind you!" I shouted at her seeing a man attempting to sneak up on her.

Without turning around she brought her fist up behind her head and hit the guy. He groaned trying to shake it off and attack once more; however, Laura simply kicked her leg out behind her and hit the man's balls.

A scream left his mouth as he dropped to the ground. Laura did not hesitate in turning around and stomping straight on the man's skull most likely killing him. Her entire body turned to me with blazing eyes. "Get over here now!"

Wasting no time I stepped into the road and went to Laura. "Where the fuck did you go?" She harshly asked.

"To find Carlisle, I was worried about him," I explained. I mean I wasn't exactly lying.

A sigh escaped Laura as she looked at me in disbelief. "Do you know how big that forest is? The chances of you actually stumbling into him in there are very low, next to nothing!"

"I did find him though." I pointed out.

"You did! Well, then where is he?" She looked at me in shock as we both ran dodging flying bullets.

"I don't know I heard you call me before I could actually approach him. He was talking with his Italian friends." I shrugged my shoulders.

The two of us ran behind Laura's car which was luckily parked in an angle that would block us from oncoming bullets. To my surprise, we found both Dr. Carson and Agent Monroe already crouched down. Agent Monroe was firing arrows out from behind the car with a focused expression.

Dr. Carson leaned against the car a fearful expression on his face. "I'm a doctor! I'm not meant to be in the middle of gunfire! This makes no sense!" He exclaimed panicking.

"We're fighting a group of terrorist, and I have a bow and arrow. Nothing makes sense doctor." Agent Monroe spoke calmly as he fired another arrow.

Dr. Carson placed a hand on his chest attempting to calm himself. On his shoulder was a computer satchel. I knew right then this was the computer they couldn't a hold of. A yell came from our left as we watched a SHARE agent get shot in the chest and die immediately.

As the agent fell to the ground his eyes wide open and lifeless - an odd realization took place. For Dr. Carson, Laura, and Agent Monroe life was short. It could be gone in the blink of an eye, it could be one bullet shot and they're dead. For me, I would be okay. I would still be around.

So why was I hiding?

They had a reason to hide, they couldn't get shot - or they would die. I could get shot, and keep fighting. I could get shot - and then shoot the person back. Just as I was pondering on these thoughts something caught my attention.

Carlisle walked out of the woods followed by Esme, Edward, Bella, Alice, Jasper, and the rest of the Volturi. The expression everyone gave was almost comic. The smell of blood lingering in the air seemed to affect the majority of them. The few who weren't affected included Carlisle, Esme, and the three kings.

The vampires were all at a loss for words at what they were seeing. The Volturi more so than the Cullen's - even though the Cullen's were also shell-shocked. I could understand why I mean to my knowledge the Volturi did not generally deal with human's unless they had illegal information to their world.

Not only that, but it had been at least a millennium since any of them had been human. They probably were not that familiar with the new ages. Let alone all the warfare we often used nowadays. I was ninety percent sure that not one of them had ever been exposed to humans slaughtering each other with this newfound technology at a magnitude this high in their existence.

Not even the Cullen's had experienced this, and they were around humans every single day. The Cullen's held horrified expressions, while the Volturi guard watched as if critiquing them.

The three King's each watched with interested expressions. Aro watched the different people skillfully fight each other with interest, while Caius was analyzing the battle strategy.

I was not the only one to notice their arrival as the other three did as well. With a small breath, Dr. Carson was finally able to get a hold of himself.

His gaze was solely focused on Carlisle seemingly ignoring the others. "I assume those are the friends from Italy?" Laura whispered in my ear studying the Volturi's clothing with apparent confusion.

I silently nodded my head. "Cover me." Is all Carson spoke before leaving the safety of the car and running to where Carlisle stood. Agent Monroe fired arrows at anyone who was even remotely close to Dr. Carson's figure.

"Carlisle." Dr. Carson finally reached Carlisle's side. I was able to listen in easily while the other two had to strain to hear.

"Patrick? What's going on." Carlisle questioned in confusion. Dr. Carson looked around at the battle taking place.

"SHARE was infiltrated by a group of apparent terrorist. We underestimated their numbers by a lot, right now we're really outnumbered but our agents are holding steady. I'm not sure how long they can last though." Dr. Carson paused looking around worriedly. "We have back up coming, but it could be another thirty minutes before they can get here." He explained. The Volturi listened as well with blank expressions.

"Are they after something in particular?" Carlisle asked dodging a bullet just in time. Of course, the bullet would simply deflect off his body, but it would surely arise Dr. Carson to ask questions.

"Not something - someone, and I bet you can guess who." Dr. Carson spoke hoarsely with a sullen look.

Carlisle's eyes immediately lit up in recognition. "Frankie." He breathed out.

"Why are they coming after her?" Aro spoke in a cold voice, the pleasantness it held a few minutes prior completely gone.

Dr. Carson's eyes flickered to him with a conflicted look. Finally, after a few seconds, he let out a sigh, obviously done with attempting to keep me a secret. "Frankie is the first of her kind, the only person in history to ever wake up from death. Carlisle, at first they were just coming for the Venitilium serum, but as soon as they learned about Frankie they wanted her too. Now they're here for the serum and her. They want to gain access to her chip, you know as well as I if they ever gain access to that chip they will practically be able to control her.

Luckily I was able to upload the main frame of her chip to my laptop. If they want to access to the chip, then they need my laptop." He motioned to the satchel on his shoulder which held his laptop. "What they don't realize is the Venitilium serum is gone. It's been gone for a few months now. You see we had it locked up in the Pentagon, just until we know exactly what it did to Frankie. Our research on her is still not even close to half-way complete, we want to know everything she is now able to do before we give another injection to anyone.

Once they realize that the serum isn't anywhere in there, their full attention will be on Frankie and this laptop. Frankie needs to be relocated as soon as possible. Originally I was thinking somewhere like Washington, New Mexico, or Wyoming - I'm afraid it's going to need to be somewhere farther now, possibly out of the country." Dr. Carson gave a sad look. "And I'm afraid none of us can go with her, in order to stay hidden Frankie will need to be cut loose for a few years. Stay under the raider, completely away from government facilities." He shook his head.

Everyone was shocked into silence. Caius was disgusted at how far humanity had fallen from the state it was once in all those thousands of years ago, Aro himself was impressed as well as worried. Impressed at how far the weaker species he hunted had come, but worried for the safety of his mate ~ wait, what the heck? How did I know this?

After those thoughts crossed my head whatever it was that was allowing me to know this suddenly disappeared. Before I could ponder on it more, Alice's voice caught my attention. "Somewhere like Italy?" She shook her head looking at Dr. Carson.

His eyes seemed to light up. "Yes, somewhere exactly like that! It's a country that no one would suspect!" He exclaimed an obvious idea forming in his mind.

It was then that everything from Alice's vision fell into place. That was how Aro would do it. Aro would take me to back to Volterra with him because SHARE would literally hand me over. Carlisle along with the rest of the Cullen's understood as well. I could see it on their face's.

Aro's face reflected that of joy. Carefully he looked to the doctor a conniving smile playing at his lips. "Me, as well as the rest of my family live in Italy. In a small town just outside of Florence, Frankie would surely be able to stay with us as long as needed." He spoke smoothly giving an award-winning smile.

A doubtful look passed over Dr. Carson's face. However, he looked to be pondering the idea. "Aro has been my friend for years. We attended college together you see, I trust him completely." Carlisle said through gritted teeth as if it pained him to say this.

"I'll consider it." He nodded his head in apparent thought over the situation. I couldn't help but wonder why almost no one was shooting at them. As if I jinxed it an enemy aimed his gun straight for Dr. Carson's head.

However, before he could shoot an arrow hit him in his chest. His eyes lost all life as he fell down. Oh yeah, Agent Monroe was hitting anyone who targeted the group in any way.

"Laura I just want you to know, I've always thought you had an amazing ass!" A random SHARE agent who I've never seen before shouted before shooting at the enemies. Unfortunately, that comment gave him unwanted attention, within seconds he was lying dead in a pool of his blood.

"He deserved it." I vaguely heard Laura mumble under her breath. "Is Laura here now?" Carlisle questioned in confusion.

None of them had realized we were here. They hadn't even glanced in our direction. The smell of blood was most likely covering our own scents, and the sound of gunfire enveloping any sound we made.

I watched as the army of terrorist began getting the better of our agents. More terrorist came from the forest guns blazing and all. Panic overtook me as I came to the conclusion that there was no way we could last much longer at the rate they were coming in at. The back up wouldn't be here for a while, and by the time they got here, it'd be too late!

My mind was running into overdrive, but then I fathomed something. It was an incredibly reckless idea - with an eighty percent chance of failure, but it was worth a try.

I crawled over to the passenger door and opened it quickly. "What are you doing?" Laura questioned. I fumbled around in my backpack for the headphones I had packed. Finally grasping them I pulled it out and closed the door.

"I know it's a risky move, but we're not going to last much longer," I stated earning a confused look from both agent's. "The bullets won't affect me if I do what I did in the training room the other day then maybe we'll be able to win here," I explained.

"Frankie, no! Being able to hit a target in training and engage in warfare are two completely different things!" Laura scolded turning down the idea along with Monroe. I scowled at her, my eyes narrowing slightly.

"Listen, I have been brought back to life, and just the slightest pinch of anger makes do some pretty nasty things. Since my chip has been turned off I am able to run almost eighty miles an hour, completely lift a car over my head and toss it if I wish, and I have Telekinesis! I can help, it's not right for me to just hide." I told her a newfound anger beginning to brew.

Laura gave me a blank before she crawled over to her trunk. Popping open the hood I watched as she threw two Machine Guns, two double-barreled Pistols, and one interesting looking Katana next to me. She pulled out two gun holsters, as well as a sword holder throwing them to me. "I'm trusting you, do not let me down," Laura demanded, closing the trunk crouching down once more.

Quickly I shimmied into the sword holder until it was secure on my back. I shoved the Katana into it, before bringing the gun holsters around both my thighs. Once I was sure they wouldn't fall off, I gripped the pistols and placed them in. I let out a deep breath taking the Machine Guns in my hands.

In one final move, I took a look at everyone who stood near the forest. "If Laura's here... Please tell me Frankie isn't here." Carlisle pleaded with Dr. Carson who gave him a look of confusion.

Aro's eyes seemed to darken with anger, most likely not pleased with me being in a place like this. "Of course she is, Laura picked her up but she wandered out into the forest before everyone started this mess. I believe she mentioned she had tried to find you guy's out there, but she was called back before she could approach you." Dr. Carson spoke slightly confused at seeing the enraged look on everyone's faces.

It was official, they all knew I had been out there now.

"Okay, the three of us jump out on three, and we fight until we die. And if we die, then walk it off and keep going." Laura demanded, looking at the SHARE agent's who were now struggling to keep the intruders at bay.

"Where is she." The voice of Aro ordered a dangerous glint in his eye as he looked around at all the people fighting. Speedily I took the headphones and shoved them into my phone's headphone jack.

"3," Laura spoke her voice cold, preparing for battle.

"She's over with agent's Marshall and Monroe, crouched behind the car."

I pushed the headphones in my ear, pushing play to the song 'Proud Mary'. "And we rolling, rolling on the river." The song began.

"2."

Everyone who stood by the forest line's head turned to me. My gaze clashed with Aro Volturi's causing my entire world to stop. This was my mate; Aro Volturi.

"1." Laura's voice rang out. "Frankie, no!" I vaguely heard Carlisle shout, but I ignored it.

"Left a good job down in the city."

Standing from my crouched position I allowed my instinct to take over. Bullets came pouring from the Machine Gun's as I fired hitting multiple enemy agents. Men and women alike fell to the ground dead.

"Big Wheel's keep on turning!"

I leaped over the
