FRANKENSTEIN
40 | Immigrant Song.

"CARLISLE, I think something's wrong." I told Carlisle, ripping off the bandage.

"What do you mean? Does it have something to do with the whole drinking you did the other night." Carlisle said, in a scolding tone.

I couldn't help but shrink at the scolding tone he held. Biting my lip, a certain thought crossed my mind.

"No, but what happened with the other half of the 'Banana Split group'? You know considering one was dragged back to the room, and the other two were to caught up with each other to notice anyone." I said the last part with a small laugh, earning an almost inaudible huff in reply.

"Leah was quite enraged at Seth, and we are all very disappointed in Jacob and Renesmee." Carlisle said with a small sigh.

"Carlisle, technically speaking they're both consenting adults. It's obvious they both love each other, it really isn't that bad of a thing." I told him.

"I suppose you are correct, Frankie. I believe it's just thought of the girl who's entire hand was able to wrap around my thumb just eleven years ago, being married." Carlisle said, with a long sigh. "Anyway, enough about that, I want to know exactly what's wrong." His voice took a turn to concern.

"I don't know how to explain it, it started during the time I got sick, and has kind of lasted since then. I've been having these really weird dreams, hallucinations really. And when I say weird, I mean really weird Carlisle. And as of late, I've been experiencing this dream. I'm talking to myself, but it's different every time. The only part of our conversation that's the same, is her telling me I need to become myself again. I'm not sure Carlisle, it's really freaky." I said in a rush.

"Why haven't you told me sooner!" Carlisle exclaimed. "I could've checked you out at the party!"

"I thought it would just go away." I weakly defended.

"What are the dreams about? Can you explain them?" Carlisle asked me.

"Every single dream has different scenarios. The only real similarities between each dream are the people. One girl in particular, at every dream she has been a different age - but it's always the same girl. Her family is in it too most of the time. Though, it is always centered around her." I explained to him.

"And when you talk to the image of yourself, what are those conversations about?"

I sighed in irritation just thinking about it. "Mainly, it's just her complaining about how I'm so different, and I need to be myself. Something about being combined, some nudity, and more complaints." I said.

I could hear Carlisle choke on air, before he got out a single word. "Nudity?"

"Yeah, in the most recent one I was naked, and then she got naked - and then we both got dressed again." I said, before hearing what I just told him aloud. "Yeah... that sounds really bad, but I swear it wasn't like that!"

"Okay, here - I'm about to leave to the lab now. I just wrote down everything you said, and I'm talking to Patrick about it as soon as I get there. I want to get his take on it. I'll call you as soon as I have a reply okay." Carlisle said, earning an 'okay' in return.

As soon as I hung up, a loud frantic knock came from outside the door. A second later, Dora came in, shutting the door behind her. She not only shut it, but proceeded to lock it and push a desk in the way of the door. I watched in confusion when she turned to me, her eyes glazed with unsheathed panic.

"Dora?" I hesitantly questioned only to earn a 'shush' in return.

In an instant Athenodora brought me into the closet shutting the door behind us. I looked at her confused when she began pacing around, running her fingers through her hair. "No one saw it coming, we should have known though. No vampire makes that big of a ruckus unless they are purposely wanting our presence. Why, oh why did we send so many guards." Dora rambled.

Before anyone could comprehend what I was doing, I grabbed Dora by her face pulling her to look at me. "Tell me right now, what happened?" I asked calmly, despite the panic eating away at me.

"The Romanians, they asked an alliance of nomads to begin causing chaos in France. No one realized they were purposely drawing out the strongest of our members to them. Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix, Miranda, Santiago, Afton, and Chelsea all went to destroy them. They're gone, leaving the castle practically defenseless. The Romanians took this opportunity to invade the castle, they went around finding guard they knew to be important, and forced them into the throne room. They're currently in front of the masters torturing Alexander, Heidi, Renata, and Corin - trying to get them to submit. I'm worried for Alexander, he's only a hybrid he can't withstand things like normal vampires." Dora began panicking, tears gathering in her eyes - though they would not fall.

"What about the lower guard?" I asked, snapping her attention back.

"They took out the six that were on duty, and the other's live in surrounding apartments. There is no way we can contact them till they come in to switch shifts tomorrow morning. Not only that, but they are currently searching for me." Athenodora, said in between sobs.

"What? How did you even get away?" I asked, rubbing her shoulders comfortingly.

"I was never caught. You know I tend to ghost around the castle. As soon as I saw one of them dragging Corin in, I hid in a nearby cupboard. I heard them, they told Caius they would find me and that when they did - I was to endure the most torture of all. He was enraged, attempted to charge at them but was stopped by Aro. There is no possible way the three of them can fight their way out of this - they are too greatly outnumbered." Dora hiccuped, trying to calm her panic.

"Why are they so keen on getting to you?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around the situation.

"Because, I am the mate of Caius. Technically, I am a queen - if they were to get their hands on me, Caius would instantly surrender. The kings are already having an extremely hard time listening to their most trusted guard - friends, scream in agony." Dora shook her head. "I don't know what to do at this point!" Dora cried out.

"Wait, why don't they want me? Not to sound like self-centered, but I am Aro's mate." I questioned, confused.

"They don't know about you. They still think Sulpicia was Aro's only partner. You need to get out of here, they cannot know of your existence - they will not hesitate in taking you and torturing you until Aro surrenders." Athenodora's eyes widened in realization. "They absolutely cannot know of your existence." She began panicking again.

My head whirled with all the panic happening around. Athenodora sobbing and panicking was not doing anything to help the situation at all. All I could comprehend was my mate, my love - was in very real danger. For all I knew he could be dead. Aro Volturi the love of my life; dead. That was something I never wanted to imagine.

"Athenodora, no offense, but shut up." I snapped at her, earning a look of surprise - I was never this moody.

I couldn't help it though, it was like my instincts were in overdrive. All I wanted to do was walk into the throne and destroy every single enemy. And I would, in due time of course.

"You are Athenodora, the freaking queen of vampires! Pull yourself together, you are older than even Aro! Remind them who you are!" I exclaimed, giving her a mini pep talk.

Athenodora's face of surprise, morphed into one of determination, before a sigh escaped her lips. "You are right, I think sticking behind the walls of the castle has weakened me. I will fight for my husband." Athenodora growled the last part, her red eyes glaring furiously. "How dare they, who do they think they are! I will rip every single one of them to bits!" She screamed.

I suddenly saw a certain look in her eye, one that Caius normally wore. I smirked at her, happy with her newfound change of mood. I couldn't help, but eye her beautiful silken dress with disdain. It wasn't that I didn't like it, it was just that it would not serve very good in a fight.

"While that is a way better attitude, you need to change." I pointed to her dress, with raised brows.

"What is wrong with my dress?" She said, sounding offended.

"It's beautiful, but not necessarily equipped for battle." I pointed out, earning a hesitant nod of agreement from her.

"Here, you can borrow something of mine. I don't really have clothes suited for battle either. However, I do have pants, which is far better than a dress." I told her, turning to my rack of clothes attempting to find a pair of trousers, ready for violent circumstances.

"Hmm, and how is it you know so much about battle?" Athenodora questioned from behind me.

"Instinct, it's odd, since I woke up - I've always had the drive and knowledge about battle." I said, tugging two pairs of black leggings out of the rack.

I tossed a pair to her, earning an approving sound. "You know, I've always wanted to wear some of these." Dora examined the pants with a smile.

I laughed, digging around the closet for a shirt I could give her. Quickly, I threw a black tee-shirt her way, hearing her catch it. "You wouldn't happen to have any undergarments would you? Caius enjoys me going without underwear, and I am only sporting a corset under this."

I turned to look at Dora with huge eyes before throwing two pairs of undergarments her way. We look relatively around the same size. I watched in amazement as she changed clothes in a blur of movement. There was one word I'd use to describe how Dora looks dressed like this, and that is one bad-bitch.

Before anything, I threw her a pair of boots, with a smile. She caught them, raising a brow at me. "Trust me." Is all I said, pulling on my own leggings - and choosing a long-sleeved shirt to go along with it.

I wasted no time in taking a pair of converse, and lacing them up as fast as possible. All the while my mind was working in quick movements of forming a plan. So far I thought I had a pretty good plan. Storm in there, make the enemy's float, then chop off their heads. Easy enough, right?

"Is this yours?" Athenodora's voice came over, causing me to turn my head to her.

In her hands was a black leather jacket. I vaguely remembered Alice, buying it for me saying I'd look good in it. It must've been among the many clothes she packed me.

"Yeah, Alice bought for me a while back." I said, seeing her look at the fine leather with a smile. "But, I think it would look good on you, try it on." I told her honestly.

She gave me a look of shock, shaking her head. "No, this is yours. You wear it." She tried pushing the jacket to me.

"Dora, seriously try it on. I really think you would look good in it."

Because we were in a hurry, Dora made no effort to argue putting the jacket on. I was right, it did look really good on her. It gave her a sense of superiority, made her seem threatening - in a good way.

"It suits you, you have it." I smiled her way.

"Oh, no I really shouldn't-" She was cut off by me.

"We don't have time to argue on this, trust me when I say it looks great on you. Keep it." I said, earning a nod from her.

"Okay so," I paused looking at her in shock, she had braided her entire hair back in less than a second - and her hair was even longer than mine! "I think we should just storm in blazing. I can make them all float and then we take their heads off!" I told her my plan, earning a nod.

"That sounds relatively easy, but since the're not expecting you. Perhaps, I should run in first and distract them - so they are away from torturing the others. As soon as they leave them, then you come in and make them float." Dora suggested, much to my approval.

"Sounds like a solid plan, let's get out of here." I said, pulling my hair up tightly, so it was out of my face.

As Dora moved the desk from the door, I grabbed the katana holding it tightly in my grasp. I was now in full battle-mode. A sudden thought hit me and before I knew it, I was digging through my bag - looking for something very important.

With a small smile I pushed the white head phones into my phone jack, placing it in my pocket. I did love music. However, my eyes widened upon realization. In an instant, I was on my phone texting the group chat.

BEST VOLTURI MEMBERS🦇

FRANKIE: get back to Volterra!!! Castle infiltrated, being held hostage!! Hurry!

I slipped the phone back into my pocket, hoping someone would see the text soon. Slowly, Dora unlocked the door turning to face me.

"Let's fucking do this." Her dirty language surprised me. Athenodora never cussed, ever.

"Yeah, let's fucking do this." I said back, the two of us walking out of Aro's chambers, ready to take on the stupid Romanians.

If I had to say anything, it was that the two of us looked pretty amazing walking down the corridors. However, nervous thoughts crossed my mind. Were the two of us enough? I knew as soon as I got the enemy vampires in the air, the others would be able to help us. Though, I was nervous. Making over fifteen vampires float would not be easy, by any means. I could easily overdo myself and pass out - making our attempt at helping them a complete fail. Perhaps we should wait, until the others got here? No, that would be too late, it was truly up to Dora and myself.

The two of us quietly made our way through the corridors, surprisingly running into no enemy vampires. They must have assumed the only one left was Athenodora. Sooner rather than later, the two of us were hiding behind a wall, the throne room just on the other side.

"I will storm in and remove as many heads as I can. As soon as I am caught, that's when you come." Dora strategically said.

Caius's war planning must've rubbed on her over the years. "Got it." I sighed, pulling Dora in a tight hug.

She was surprised, but hugged back. There was a very good chance this plan could fail, and in case it did - this was my 'goodbye' to Dora. After a few seconds she pulled away and gave me a nod.

A sudden scream of agony caught our attention. I recognized it as Alexander's, and cringed. Just by the way he was screaming I could tell he wouldn't last much longer. My nose vaguely caught the scent of blood, a lot of it.

"Please, if we could just reason." I heard Aro's voice come from the other side.

Despite how power-hungry and greedy Aro could be, I knew he cared for his guard. Seeing them in such a state couldn't be easy, especially since he's known Alexander since he was born. Unsurprisingly, Dora's features morphed into complete rage. With no words she was threw the throne room doors open with a loud bang.

"I am going to slaughter you." Athenodora growled out, before charging at a vampire, who stood near Caius's throne.

Fifteen stranger-vampires were in the room total. Heidi, Alexander, Corin, and Renata were down on their knees in front of the thrones. One vampire holding them down each. Renata, Corin, and Heidi all had small cracks adorning their faces - but they were obviously healing. Alexander, on the other hand was in much worse shape. Bruises lined his face, his abdomen was leaking blood, and multiple cuts were across his body. He looked like he was barley conscious.

There was a vampire standing by the thrones, looked like they were guarding the kings - so they couldn't escape. Other vampires stood around the room, simply smirking at the scene in front of them - which enraged me. Finally, a bleached haired vampire stood in front of the thrones giving the kings a large demented smile.

As soon as Dora stormed in she ruined the scene. In an instant the vampire torturing Alexander was up against the wall, Dora holding him by us neck. Within seconds his head was tossed away from his body - on the clear other side of the room. Alexander let out a breathe collapsing to fetal position, now that his tormentor was away.

Threatening growls erupted from each vampire and suddenly they were all charging for her. She actually was a great fighter, phenomenal really. She managed to behead four different vampires each, before they simply teamed up on her and five had to tackle her down. She was lifted off the ground by two vampires, each holding one of her arms - she struggled in their grasp putting up a fight.

"Let me go this instant!" She screamed in rage, her eyes darting to the bleach haired guy in the center.

She tried to get to him, but was only held back. He chuckled in dark amusement, watching her as if he was the cat and she the mouse. Caius growled at this, standing from his throne. Aro quickly reached out and pulled him back down, shaking his head 'no' - knowing that nothing good would come from Caius attempting to attack them. They were still fiercely outnumbered, even with the four Dora took care of.

The bleach haired vampire, turned to Caius with a smirk. "It would seem your little bird, has come to us." He said, earning a threatening growl, and glare far darker than I've ever seem Caius give. That was saying something, considering this was Caius we were talking about.

I noticed the man had an extremely thick Romanian accent, I almost couldn't understand what it was he was blabbering on about. I couldn't wait to wipe that ugly smirk off his face. Not only that, but he really should consider a change of hair color.

"You are far more beautiful than I remember, perhaps I should keep you around." He laughed lightly, caressing Athenodora's cheek, allowing his gaze to travel down her well-sculptured body.

"How dare you!" Caius screamed enraged, Aro being the only thing keeping him from charging at the Romanian.

With a scowl, Dora spit venom in his face. He frowned wiping the substance off his face, looking at her dangerously. He raised his hand, and slapped her hard across the face. The sound echoing off the walls, her head jerking to the side at the force. I myself was enraged at this man, I could tell everyone else was as well. Athenodora was one of the most lovable people here, it didn't sit well seeing her in pain like that.

At this point, Aro was literally holding Caius down - knowing if he attacked now, they would all die. Aro was also battling his own anger, I could tell. Dora was like a little sister to him, there was no way he'd allow her to be in harm's way.

"You know what, little bird? I don't think I'll keep you around now. Instead, I give you torture in the worst way imaginable." He told her, suggestively.

Caius growled even louder at that comment, his head looking as if it was about to blow.

"Vladimir, I am warning you now, your trial will be ending in your execution." Aro hissed, his normally calm and cheery facade dropping into one of anger.

'Vladimir' threw his head back, laughing loudly. "There will be no trial, because there will be no Volturi. It is time for you Italian scum to pay for what you have taken from us." Vladimir ended lowly, earning a fierce growl from both kings.

I don't know how, but Marcus still looked utterly bored. In this terrible situation, he seriously looked as if he could care less. Yes, he looked at his tortured guard sadly - but he mainly just looked like he really needed a nap or something. Maybe, a hug?

Seeing as Dora was trapped, I figured now was my time to make a dramatic entrance. In a quick movement, I had my headphones in my ears - and began playing songs from the playlist
