I HEARD BEEPING and people whispering to each other. My eyelids felt extremely heavy, and my whole body was in pain.

I forced my eyelids open, and I blinked a couple times because of how bright it was in the room.

Where was I?

I looked around to see medical equipment beside the bed. An IV was in my arm which was over a thin blanket. I looked to my left to see Micheal and Gaberial asleep on the couch.

Mom, Dad, Gavin, and Elliot we're talking in hushed tones in the corner of the room. Nick wasn't in the room. I tired to sit up, but my ribs throbbed. I winced in pain, catching their attention.

"Campbell, how are you feeling?" Mom asked as they rushed to my side.

"My ribs hurt," I said, holding my ribs.

"Okay, we'll go get the doctor," Dad said before leaving the room.

A few moments later, Dad walked back into the room with a female doctor behind him. Her dark brown hair was in a low ponytail, and her dark blue eyes lit up when she saw me awake.

"Hello, Campbell. I'm Dr. Sasha. How are you feeling?" She asked, looking through papers.

"My ribs are hurting," I replied as another wave of pain hit me.

She nodded before looking over at the nurse that walked into the room.

"She needs painkillers, now," Dr. Sasha told the nurse who nodded before leaving the room.

"You have been through a lot the last couple of hours. You have three broken ribs, and two bruised. You also had to have seven stitches in your forehead because of the wound which also caused a concussion," Dr. Sasha informed me.

"What happened?" I asked, making everybody look sad.

"You, um, and the boys got attacked by Malcom," Mom answered, holding my hand.

I was confused until it all hit me. The storm, Malcom with the gun, Winter and Brent getting shot.

My eyes widen,"Where's Brent? Where's Winter?"

Mom licked her lips with watery eyes.

"Winter didn't make it," She said as a tear fell down her cheek.

Tears clouded my vision, and I shook my head.

"No. It wasn't suppose to be her. It was suppose to be me, not her. Malcom was pointing the gun at me," I said, and Elliot gave me a side hug.

"It's not you fault, Campbell. You weren't the one who shot her," Elliot said.

"Where's Brent?" I asked as tears fell down my cheeks.

"Brent lost a lot of blood. They took him to surgery, and they removed the bullet. But-..." Dad said as my heart broke.

"No, no, no," I repeated, shaking my head.

"He's not dead, but the amount of blood loss put him in a induced coma. They had to put a tube down his throat to help him breathe," Dad said, trying to calm me down.

"I need to see him," I said, but the doctor shook her head.

"I'm sorry, but you need to stay on bed rest as much as you can. Your ribs are extremely fragile right now, and it's best not to move around so much," Dr. Sasha said before the nurse walked in with the medicine.

The nurse handed her the painkillers with a cup of water. She put them on a little tray in front of me, and she helped me sit up.

I took the medicine, and I took a sip of the water. The cold water soothed my dry throat.

"Campbell?" Gaberial asked, rubbing his eyes.

"That's me," I replied, making him smile.

He carefully hugged me, and I hugged him back.

"Where are they?!" A familiar voice yelled in the hallway, worriedly.

We looked at the door to see the girls standing at the doorway with tears in their eyes. They ran over to me, hugging me gently. Then they hugged their boyfriends except for Nichole since Nick wasn't in here.

"Where's Nick?" I asked Gavin.

"He stayed with us until Brent came out of surgery. He's been there ever since," Gavin replied, making me bite my lip.

"We're so sorry we weren't here earlier. Our parents wouldn't let out of the house," Anna said as Elliot held her by the waist.

I nodded, but my mind was focused on Brent. What will happen if he never wakes up? What will happen to Vanessa and Xavier?

More questions ran through my head bringing more tears to my eyes. This is all my fault. Malcom warned me that he would hurt the people I love, and he did.

Tiredness washed over me, and I felt lightheaded. I guess the painkillers are making me drowsy.

My eyelids became heavier with every blink. Dad noticed my sleepy state because he placed his hand on mine.

"The painkillers are making you sleepy already. Get some rest, kiddo," Dad said before kissing my forehead.

I slowly nodded before I completely shut my eyes.

When I woke up, it was still nighttime. I looked at the clock on the wall to see it was 3:30 in the morning. I looked around the room to see nobody.

The door opened, revealing Dad who had a coffee in his hand.

"Morning, sleepy head," Dad said, sitting next to me.

"Where's everybody at?" I asked him.

"Lisa took the boys home to get some rest even though they argued to stay with you and Brent. The girls stayed for as long as they could, but their parents wanted them home," Dad answered before taking a sip of his coffee.

"Any updates on Brent?" I asked him.

He shook his head,"Everything is same."

My lip quivered, and I balled the blanket in my hands.

"But that's good if you think about it. He could be coding or he could be dead. He's fighting, Campbell. That's a good sign," Dad said, noticing that I was upset.

"I know, but it's my fault. He tackled Malcom when the gun went off to protect me," I cried, and Dad held my hand.

"Sweetie, all of this is Malcom's fault. He was the one who shot Winter and Brent, not you," Dad said, looking me in my eyes.

"I know, but it doesn't feel like that. Are his parents here?" I asked him, suddenly.

Dad nodded,"They landed two hours after you passed out. Xavier and Vanessa were here for a while, but they had to leave."

"They probably hate me now," I said, wiping my eyes.

"I don't think so. Xavier and Vanessa came in the room before they left. Vanessa said she loved you, and Xavier said that he wants you and Brent to get better."

"Dad, can you please help me? I really need to see Brent, please," I begged, making him uneasy.

"Campbell, one wrong move, and your ribs will collapse," Dad said before saying,"But if I push you to his room in a wheelchair, you should be fine."

I gave me a small smile,"Thank you."

He nodded before grabbing a wheelchair that was folded against the wall. He kept the IV in my arm, but he grabbed another bag of clear liquid before attaching that to the pipe.

Then he put it back on the metal holder. He carefully helped me out of the hospital bed. I felt dizzy, and my ribs hurt every time I inhaled a deep breath.

We walked slowly to the wheel chair, and he carefully helped me sit down. Dad grabbed the clear liquid bag before giving it to me to hold.

Then he pushed me out of my room, and to the elevator. He pushed the button to floor 37, and the doors shut. When the doors opened, we snuck past the nurses so they wouldn't catch us. Then he pushed me into the last room on the left.

That's when I saw him.

Brent was laying in the bed unconscious with a tube in his mouth. He had a bruised cheek from the fight with Malcom. There was a lot of machines around him.

The only thing that I was focused on was the rise of his chest. Dad pushed me over to him, and I held Brent's hand. Dad grabbed the bag from me, and it hung it on the metal holder.

"I'll give you a moment," Dad said before leaving the room.

I nodded before looking back at Brent. I licked my lips, nervously.

"I'm sorry, Brent. I'm so sorry," I apologized, looking at him. "You're in a coma because of me. You took the bullet for me. I'm so sorry."

"It's scary seeing you like this. Usually you would be smiling and calling me princess. I do anything to hear you say that right now. Brent, you have to fight.

You can't leave your family or the boys. You can't leave me," I said as silent tears rolled down my cheeks.

"I need you. I can't lose you, Brent. I'll give you as much Goldfish as you want, I'll watch horror movies with you even though I'm terrified of them, and I'll give you back all of your hoodies. Just please don't leave me," I sobbed.

"I love you, Mason. I love you so much," I finished, kissing his hand, softly.

"Campbell?" A female voice said from the doorway.

I turned around to see Martha and Mr. Mason at the doorway. I quickly wiped my tears and I cleared my throat.

"I'm sorry," I told them.

Martha shook her head,"Honey, this isn't your fault. We know that you love him, and he loves you."

"You make our boy happy and that's all we ever wanted," Mr. Mason said.

They both hugged me,carefully, and Dad walked back into the room. He cleared his throat, breaking us apart.

"I have to get Campbell back to her room," Dad said, making Martha and Mr. Mason nod.

"Okay. Goodbye, Campbell. We'll update you if anything happens," Martha said, hugging me one more time.

I nodded before looking at Brent again.

"I'll be back soon, Mason," I said before letting go of his hand.

Dad pushed me out of the room, and back to the elevator. We walked back into my room. He helped me back into the bed before getting me some water.

I took a sip of the water before sitting it on my tray. Dad and I watched some tv show, and he was out like a light not even thirty minutes later on the couch.

I looked up at the ceiling. I just sat there, staring at the ceiling thinking about tonight's events.

I wished Winter was here. She would make me laugh.

I silently cried myself asleep that night.
