"PICK UP 4; THE COLOR IS YELLOW," I said to Brent with a smirk.

He picked up four cards out of the deck, sighing. If you couldn't tell, we were playing Uno.

It was just Brent, Nick, Elliot, Micheal,  Dad, and me playing the game. The twins didn't want to play, and the girls are not here.

So far, Elliot and Dad are close to winning unlike the rest of us. I have at least ten cards, Nick has a whole stack, Brent has a little bit more than me, and Micheal has eight cards.

"Why would you do yellow?" Dad asked, scanning through his cards.

Undoubtedly he doesn't have a yellow.

Hehe.......

Brent laid down a yellow two, and Nick laid down a green two. Elliot laid down a green six, and Dad threw a green reverse onto the table meaning it was back to Elliot.

He threw a green six, and Dad threw a red six. Micheal picked up a card from the stack, meaning that it was my turn now.

I had three reds, and I threw down a red eight.

It went like that for a while until Elliot threw down his last card.

"Haha! I won!" Elliot exclaimed.

"What?! How?!" Nick and Brent said at the same time.

"Good job," I said, putting my cards down.

"Thanks, Cam," Elliot thanked me.

"I don't understand how you won," Nick said, looking at the cards.

"Nick is being a sore loser," Micheal said with a smirk.

"No, I'm not," Nick argued, pouting.

"Boys," Dad said as he shuffled the cards.

"I'm hungry," I said, standing up from my chair.

"I'll come with you," Brent said, following me into the kitchen.

I opened the fridge, looking for something to eat. I quickly shut it when I saw nothing good to eat. I twirled around to the pantry, and I opened the door.

I grabbed a bag of goldfish, and I shut the door. Brent was standing at the end of the counter, watching me with amused eyes.

"Goldfish? Nice choice," Brent said, gesturing to my snack.

"Why thank you," I said, walking past him. I sat on the stool before opening the bag. Brent sat beside me, and he held his hand out in front of me with puppy dog eyes.

"No, this is my food. Go get your own," I whined, holding the bag closer to me.

"Please, I just want a couple," Brent replied, give me the pouty look.

I had to stay strong, but his puppy eyes and pouty lip were my weakness. I sighed before giving him a couple. He smiled like a five year old getting his favorite candy.

He plopped one in his mouth, and I shook my head.

"You're such a child," I told him, spinning in my chair.

"Says the person who is spinning in a bar stool," Brent replied, making me stop spinning.

"So? You are never too old to spin in a bar stool," I shot back before eating my Goldfish.

Brent laughed, and we finished our Goldfish before heading back into the living room with every body else.

"Finally. I thought I was going to have to send a search party in there," Nick said, looking away from his cards.

I shook my head,"Don't worry, we made it through the kitchen without getting lost."

"Humph," Nick replied before laying a pick up two card.

We watched them play the game, and Micheal won this time. Nick pouted, making all of us laugh.

"I have to go. Hospital needs me," Dad said, getting up from his seat.

"Alright. Have fun," Elliot said, setting up another game.

"I will try. Y'all keep the doors locked," Dad said, making us all nod.

Dad left the house, leaving us by ourselves. I walked upstairs to my bedroom, leaving the boys alone. I looked out my window to see it getting dark. It looked like it was going to storm.

My door creaked open, making me turn around. Winter was standing there, panting.

"Hey, Winter," I said, sitting on my bed. She jumped onto the bed, and I scratched her side.

She laid her head in my lap. We sat there for a couple of minutes before she fell asleep. I smiled, before moving her head out of my lap.

I walked into my bathroom, and I turned the shower on before stripping from my clothes. I pulled my hair into a bun so I don't get it wet. I stepped into the shower, and I let the warm water run over my body.  I washed my body before getting out.

I changed into a white bralette, a blue crop top shirt with short sleeves, and a pair of black sweatpants. I took my hair out of the bun, and I brushed it out.

When I walked back downstairs, all of the boys were watching The Office. It was the episode where Micheal burnt his foot on the grill.

I heard thunder as I walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a water bootle from the fridge before going back into the living room. I sat down between Brent and Micheal.

Brent was tapping his finger on the arm rest, and his eyes were wide. He was biting his cheek.

"What's wrong?" I whispered to him, making him tear his eyes away from the tv.

"Nothing," he replied, licking his lips.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but I stayed silent. We were on the fourth episode when a loud thunder rumbled the house.

Brent flinched slightly, and then it all clicked in my head.

"Brent, can you help me with something?" I asked him.

He nodded,"Sure."

We walked into the kitchen, and I turned to face him.

"Are you scared of the rain?" I asked him.

He looked like a deer caught in headlights.

He shook his head,"No.........maybe."

"What makes you scared? The rain, thunder, or lightning?" I asked him, holding his hands in front of me.

"Pretty much everything about a storm," he said. I rub his hands with my thumbs.

"Okay. Well then let's talk about the positive things about this storm. We are getting rain for nature. It's not a tornado, and the power is still running," I said, smiling.

But right after I said that last sentence, the power went out.

"Oh, come on!" Gaberial yellled in the other room.

"Alright then, we're out of power, but keeping looking on the bright side," I said in the darkness.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, and I turned on my flashlight. Brent and I walked into the living room where everybody was at.

"I'm going to look at the breaker," Elliot said, walking out of the living room.

"I'll go get candles and flashlights," Gavin said before walking upstairs and Gaberial went with him.

"And there is no cell service," Nick said, walking around the living room.

"The phone must have knocked the cell towers out," I said, looking out the windows.

"Guys, we have a problem," Elliot said, running into the living room.

"What?" Brent asked him.

"Somebody ripped the breaker out," Elliot said with a worried look on his face.

"How? Nobody has been down to the basement," I said, putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Exactly. So who in the hell ripped it out?" Elliot asked.

My eyes widen,"You don't think...."

Elliot and Nick exchanges looks before Nick cleared his throat.

"I think we should leave just in case," Nick said, biting his lip.

"I'll go get the twins," Micheal said before running upstairs.

Elliot walked out of the living room, and he came back a few moments later with his truck car keys.

Micheal and the twins came back downstairs. We all put on our shoes before walking out of the house. I was the last person out of the house, and all of the boys froze before me.

"Guys, why are you guys not moving?" I asked, pushing myself between Elliot and Nick.

In front of us was Malcom holding a gun. He stood in the street light, and he looked the same except for the tattoos around his neck and the few gray hairs in his dark brown hair. His green eyes were filled with hatred.

"Miss me?" He asked with an evil smirk.

"Malcom," I said as my body shook.

"That's me. Do you know how easy it was to find out where you have been hiding?" Malcom asked me. "All I had to was trace your phone, and it led me straight to you."

"Jesus, you sound like Joe from You," Nick said, making us give him a 'are you serious' look.

Nick shrugged,"What? It's true."

I looked back at Malcom to see him confused. He shook his head before looking at me.

"Malcom, you know that if you get your revenge, you'll go straight back to prison for the rest of your life," I told him.

"I don't care. I would finally get revenge on the girl who ruined my life," Malcom said, stepping closer.

Gaberial stepped forward and said,"Campbell didn't ruin your life. You did that the first day you laid hands on her. Campbell is a caring, funny, thoughtful teenage girl. If anything, you ruined her life."

"Oh shut up. You guys don't get to stand there and defend her. She's nothing. The only thing good about her was the paycheck," Malcom said, scowling.

"You're right," I said, making everybody look at me.

"Campbell," Brent said, but I shook my head.

"I'm nothing. So go ahead and shoot me, but that's not going to do anything, Malcom. You are throwing your life away for nothing. Think about it," I said as my body stopped shaking.

Malcom was silent for a moment before saying,"I have thought about it for months now, and I still want revenge."

He raised the gun, and his finger pressed the trigger.

BANG. BANG.
