I'm pretty sure Ahad was getting suspicious now. I know I had been acting a little out of character for the past two days– didn't eat much or socialize either. The smallest of unwanted conversations started annoying me and I mostly walked off to not say something disrespectful. My own brother was at my in-laws place but I still wanted to run back home and be alone. People started to annoy me. After lunch the next day, bhai and bhabhi left but Ahad seemed to have no plans of going back home. I get it, this is his family but I seriously needed to be back home. Curiosity and anxiety was eating me up alive and the things I had to do could only be done when I was alone.

"Ahad, can we talk?" I whispered to him and he raised an eyebrow but silently followed me upstairs to our room.

"How much longer are you planning to stay here?" My tone was impatient but my words just sounded rude and insensitive and before I could correct my mistake, the damage was already done.

"Why? Do you not like spending time with my family?" From his face, I could judge he knew that's not what I meant but he was still challenging me and that frustrated me beyond extent.

"Ahad, you know that's not what I meant. Stop trying to pick a fight. Can we just go back to our home? I'm more comfortable there and I have... things to do so can we please go?" I crossed my arms, my foot tapping on the ground restlessly.

"What's gotten into you? You aren't like this." His voice was completely calm but I could see the suspicion on his face, along with concern. I breathed out to cool down my anger.

"I don't know what to tell you. I just want to go home." I sat back down on the bed, letting out a sigh of exasperation. Ahad sat down next to me, putting his head on my shoulder, causing me to weakly smile.

"I'm sorry. If you want to go, we can leave. I shouldn't have talked to you like that." I turned over to him and hugged him, burying my head in the crook of his neck as my arms wrapped around his waist.

This is what I loved about him. He had no ego, no pride. Whenever it came to his mistakes, he realized them and fixed them. I hope it always stayed that way.

"You can pack the bag up until I go and inform everyone that we're leaving." He got up to leave but I held him back by grabbing his wrist.

"Please don't tell anyone that I said so. They won't like it and I don't know what they'll think of me." I pursed my lips, hoping he'd understand and he nodded before leaving.

I carried the bag in my hand and went downstairs where everyone had seemed to be informed of us leaving so I hugged the ladies of the family and went into the car after Ahad gave me the keys to the car. I tossed the bag in the backseat and sat in the front, throwing my head back, eyes closed. A few minutes later, Ahad came in and drove us home.

"You know, I expect you to tell me what's going on, whenever you're ready."

"I will, I promise." I wasn't going to take the test today because I'm pretty sure Ahad would stay home so I'll have to go when he's at work. I turned to the window, seeking comfort in the sight of passing trees and flowers. I hate lying to him.

"Let's watch some movies when we get home. To distract you from whatever's going on in your head, hmm?" How was he so thoughtful all the time? I seriously landed a jackpot. "Okay." I gave him a small smile which he returned.

When he pulled into the driveway, I sighed in relief. My set of house keys was in my purse so I fetched those out and unlocked the door. It felt like it had been months since I saw my home when it had only been a week. Ahad carried the bag and I took it from him before going upstairs and flopping down on the bed.

"Home sweet home." I closed my eyes and laid back on the bed and Ahad chuckled at my behavior.

"You seemed to miss this place a lot." He sat down next to me and I got up and glared at him. "There's something seriously wrong with you if you didn't miss your own home."

"I did but I missed being here with you more." Without a warning, he pulled me in and smashed his lips to mine, causing me to lose my balance and fall over him as he laid down on the bed and deepened our kiss. His hands were on my waist as I placed mine on his shoulders for support so I didn't put my entire weight on him. I pulled back, much to his dismay, and got off him.

"As much as I'd like to continue, I need a shower." Before he could protest, I stepped down from the bed and pulled out a matching pajama set from the closet. My eyes briefly fell onto the black dress that was hanging at the back of the rack and I smiled, thinking of what happened the day I wore it. Grabbing a towel, I headed into the washroom and locked the door before turning on the shower.

When I was done with the shower, I couldn't find Ahad in the bedroom so I went downstairs to check where he might be. Downstairs, I couldn't find him in the living room and I was about to check his study but I heard a loud 'clank' from the direction of the kitchen, causing me to run towards it.

"What was that?" I stilled as soon as I saw a pot lying on the floor with its content spilled around everywhere. Looks like my husband was making tea. "Are you okay?" I walked towards him, avoiding stepping onto the tea. His back was faced towards me as I had to lean in over his shoulder to see what was going on.

"Oh my God! What the hell Ahad?!" He was clutching one of his hands in the other with his eye clenched shut, pain and agony written all over his face. "Show me?" I gently took his hand from under the other one and inspected it. There was a burn on his palm and winced at the look of it before leading him out into the living room and sitting him down on a sofa.

"Wait here, I'll get the cream." I hurried up the stairs and into our room where the first aid box was placed in the cabinet of the washroom. Rummaging through it, I pulled out the first medication that I found suitable to heal a burn and went downstairs to my husband.

"Aap kitchen mein kya karne gaye thay jab aap se chai bhi nahi banti?" He hissed everytime I spread the cream on his hand and just threw his head back on the sofa.

*What were you doing in the kitchen when you can't even make tea?

"Dil kar raha tha haath jalane ka, isliye gaya tha." Though he was smiling, I could see the sarcasm in his voice causing me to roll my eyes at him before slapping his arm.

*I felt like burning my hand, that's why I went.

"Should I make tea for you now?" I offered and he just shook his head and pulled me to his side. "Let's just watch a movie like we planned." I nodded and leaned into his side as he wrapped his arm around me.

Sometime in between the movie marathon, Ahad changed his position and put his head in my lap as I ran my hand through his soft hair. He was quickly dozing off to sleep so I stopped the act and nudged him to sit up.

"I can't carry you to the bedroom if you fall asleep. Get up and sleep on the bed, I'll wrap everything here and join you." I turned off the TV as he rubbed his eye before lazily dragging himself up the stairs and into our room. I threw away the wrappers I the junk food we were snacking on and turned off all the lights before joining my husband on the bed. His back was facing my side and he completely forgot to wear the blanket so I pulled the blanket over him and slid in bed behind him, throwing an arm over his waist as I snuggled my head in his bare back. He instantly put his own arm over mine and we both slept in peace.

A few hours later, I blinked my eyes open to the sound of a phone ringing and looked over to my nightstand to check if it was mine but it wasn't. Ahad seemed to be deep in sleep, not realizing that his phone was ringing so I shook him awake so he could get his phone. If someone was calling at two in the morning, it must be important. He attended the call and I practically saw all the sleep flying away from his face as he got off the bed and pulled on his shirt before putting down the phone.

"What's going on?" I asked in confusion, watching him take out a pair of jeans.

"Zoha has been taken to the hospital for her delivery."

(A.N): EEEEK! ZOHA!
Anyway, please drop a vote and comment and I won't make you wait too long for the next part *wink*

And what do y'all think Zoha is having? A boy or a girl (or both)?
