~It is important to know when to let go and it's equally important to know when to not!~

Nandini opened her eyes to her husband stroking her cheeks with the back of his knuckles. An immediate smile formed on her face, as she rolled to her side and placed her head in the hollow of his neck.

"Good morning Husband", she smiled into his chest as she felt him kissing the back of her shoulder.

"Good morning Wifey!", his morning voice was her favourite, the sound making knots in her stomach. He could feel her smile on his bare skin as his finger travelled down the length of her spine.

"The night was beautiful or is it the morning?", Manik questioned, nearly biting her ear as she squirmed in his hold. Every breath of his that fanned her skin made her go all mushy and jelly like.

"The morning can be more beautiful if-", she rolled out, lying on her back as he smirked and leaned into her.

"If?", oh, the love of teasing his wife was something Manik could never get enough of. But then, he always underestimated Nandini because Nandini didn't wait to answer him. Instead she pulled him down, kissing him on his lips.

One minute she was softly pecking his lips, and the other minute Manik had taken over, no softness this time. It was rough but passionate enough to burn her insides with a raw desire, demanding but careful enough to not hurt her, and loving enough to make her feel like the most beautiful women on earth.

They broke the kiss panting for breath, and Manik moved aside, lying down beside her, his breaths shallow but frequent as he gasped for air. Nandini involuntary blushed as she pulled the covers up, covering both of them while Manik too had a sly smile on his face.

It took her sometime to notice all the marks and redness over her skin, and his. She blushed again, remembering the wildness which was also when it striked her.

Should not Manik have had a bad hangover?

She turned to face him, plopping on her elbow while Manik had his eyes closed. She noticed his hairs were slightly wet, and that he looked seemingly fresh. She also saw that he was wearing a different boxer than yesterday. Did that mean-?

"Stop staring, though it's hot", Manik chuckled with eyes closed, and that made Nandini rest her head on the pillow immediately, embarrassed and shy.

"I woke up good two hours before you. Had a hot shower, some breakfast, coffee and aspirin to handle the hangover, before lying beside you again", he spoke with eyes still closed, a mean smirk dancing on his face while he pictured Nandini's exact reaction, which would be huge open mouth, wide eyes as she stared at him unblinking.

"What? Why?", Nandini exclaimed, and he finally opened his eyes, looking at her as he put his weight on one elbow.

"Actually-", he bit his lip while Nandini continued to look at him, raising her eyebrows, "I was afraid I won't remember our special night", he answered sheepishly, biting his cheeks inside, "so I thought we can start our morning with another round", he winked at her, making her blush, as she scooted closer to cuddle him and then whined.

"Manik!", he started laughing hearing her, these moments when she would go all shy, he absolutely adored her.

"But, when I was having the shower, I realised I remembered it, bits and pieces but I did, so-", he left it incomplete, smiling again while Nandini decided to not look at him at all, hiding her face entirely in his body.

"For example, Like this small mole you have just beneath your belly button", Manik was having the time of his life teaisng her, as his knuckles softly caressed her bare skin of the abdomen and Nandini immediately squirmed at his touch, "or the way you pulled me up to kiss me again while I was-", Manik continued in a huskier tone, trying to get a reaction out of her. He could literally see her red cheeks.

But if you know Nandini, it took her just a few minutes to retort back, specially when she knew how to tease Manik back in his language. She looked up at him from his chest and before he could finish the sentence, she had slammed her lips to him, kissing him like the apocalypse had already hit them.

"Like this or should I show again? You remember bits and pieces right? I can help you remind the entire movie!", she batted her eyes lashes, her fingers running slightly over his jaw while her other hand traced his abs.

To say Manik was tongue tied would be an understatement. He was completely bowled over by her naughty side and it took them two more minutes to actually burst out laughing, holding their stomachs. Clearly, there was never a winner of their teasing game but also the one never could surpass the other. Whenever it felt like one was winning, the other would stump the living daylights out of the other.

An hour later Nandini was still in the washroom while Manik was cooking breakfast. He knew Nandini loved South Indian food, so he was making some dosas with the instant mix packet he found. Nandini came out in a simple kurti and leggings, matching it with one of her favourite dupattas and his favourite pair of jhumkis, all ready to go to college when she found him humming to himself in the kitchen.

She smiled and sighed together, she knew they had an important talk pending.

Walking over to him, she wrapped her hands around his waist as she hugged him from behind.

"I love dosas", his smell was exotic.

"I know", he rolled the sides of the dosa and chuckled.

"and I love you", she sniffed him again, resting her cheek against his back.

"I know", his smile grew wider.

"Manik?", Nandini broke the hug and saw him serving her plate, but he turned at her voice, or rather say the seriousness of it.

"Last night was beautiful, but do you remember what led to it?", she cupped his face and made him look at her, but he frowned. He didn't really remember the conversation from the night.

"Do you remember what happened after our-", she blushed and averted her eyes for a second before locking with him again, "our love making?".

Manik frowned somemore, because he clearly had no idea what she was talking about. He had woken up in her arms, had seen their condition and was entirely confused until the hot water of the shower cleared his fogged memory a little. All he remembered was literally bits and pieces of their love making.

Nandini sighed, and dragged him to the dining table. She took a small bite of the dosa and dipped it in the peanut paste he had made before offering it to him. He silently ate it without disobeying her and she repeated the process for herself before looking at him.

"Manik, honestly you really think having sex ensures I won't leave you?", Nandini was blunt as always and Manik was stunned at her words. He didn't expect this from her, not this straightforward at least.

"Don't get me wrong Manik. But you are so relaxed since morning, so more content, and I don't understand the reason. If I want to leave you or if I meet someone in the future, you really think our home won't be wrecked because we made love? Also on the contrary if we hadn't, it was because I was waiting for someone else? ", Manik opened and closed his mouth at the question but couldn't frame a word. What shocked him more was the way Nandini continued to feed him, like this was the most normal dinner table conversation they were having.

" Manik Malhotra, our home and our relationship is not based on our levels of intimacy. Its based on our love. And honestly, if someday I look at someone or you look at someone and feel something then that would mean our love is already over, because until you are in love with one person, nobody else would seem attractive or whatever. Are you getting what I am saying? ", Manik nodded, still unsure about what he was supposed to say. He knew what she was saying was right, but he did not know how tp explain it to her.

"Also since I am getting late, I will quickly come to the point. You know, Paulo Coelho said, expecting people to be nice to you because you are nice to them is like expecting lion to not eat the lamb because the lamb didn't eat him, or something like that. You get my feelings? ", Manik couldn't help but chuckle at her lines but Nandini didn't even smile, as she took a deep breath before continuing.

"Stop being good to them Manik. They need to know what did they do to you. You can't protect them from hurt and guilt by hurting yourself. And I am saying this because this is what you said to me yesterday. You still think about those people, they still affect you. And you need to let them go entirely. It's very important in life to know when let people go and it's time. We don't need their toxicity in our lives. We are happy but we will be happier if you win over your fears and sex with me isn't going to be permanent solution", she stood up, kissing his forhead and picked up her handbag she had already kept ready.

She knew better than to expect an immediate answer from him. Also she was going to be late for her first lecture. Damn!

"Think about what I said", she smiled at him before ruffling his hairs, and then ran out. The students will take the class by storm if she was too late.

Mnaik sat in silence, absorbing every word of her speech. True he didn't remember what he did or said, but he knew Nandini enough. If she spoke it aloud, it must have disturbed her. He sighed as he opened his mobile. He had two very important texts to compose.

Nandini was driving when her phone beeped and she frowned because she had set a special notification tone for calls or texts from Manik. Why would he text her now?

"Nandini Manik Malhotra,

I will surely think about the later part of your speech but about the former part, I have some severe misconceptions to clear. Yes I was happy and relaxed this morning and yes it had to do with our love making last night.
But Nandini, that was only because I have craved to love you for so long that I couldn't keep my excitement in. I know sex doesn't bind you to me or our relationship but loving you is going to give me the same joy and adrenaline rush every damn time and I am going to behave this silly every time too, irrespective of what your brain thinks.

Have a great day and miss me."

Nandini literally had to stop the car aside and control the overtly stupid smile on her face. Trust her husband to give her flushing cheeks any damn time. But also she was internally relieved. She loved Manik and this assurance only made her love more.

Now all she wished was that he would take another important step in his life, soon too.
