* Jessica's P.O.V *

I was really pissed off and I wanted to rip the scalp off his head. I couldn't believe it. After last night, I thought that deep inside he had a heart and cared for people, but I was so wrong.

He was a jerk!

A heartless jerk!

A stupid and selfish jerk!

Ugh!

I headed towards my locker to get my book for second period. When I saw the time, I hurriedly collected my things so I wasn't late for my next class. After grabbing my things, I began to run as fast as I could to class, when someone grabbed my waist and lifted me.

Wait a minute!

Is someone trying to kidnap me?

What the hell?!

I was totally shocked and speechless. The next thing I knew, I was in an empty classroom with a tall man who had messy blonde hair, deep ocean blue eyes, and perfectly curved lips, which were smiling down at me. He was standing right in front of me, so close that I could smell his captivating scent.

Max.

When I finally realized who it was, my eyes widened. I took a step away from him and pointed at him.

"You!" I shrieked angrily.

How dare he?

"Yes." He smirked. "The one and only."

"What the hell do you think you're doing? How dare you touch me?" I screamed.

"Oh, I thought you wanted to talk to me. The way you were looking at me in corridor . . ." He stopped and lifted his perfectly shaped eyebrows.

"Oh, please! Stop that bullshit. You can't trap me with those stupid lines. Now, get out of my way. I've class."

I looked down at my watch and saw that class had already begun.

"Oh, no! I'm late." I shook my head in disbelief.

I tried to make my way out of the classroom, but he grabbed my hand before I could.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked.

I furrowed my brows at his stupid question.

"I'm going to my class, you jerk! And thanks to you, I'm already late for it," I said with an appropriate level of irritation.

"You should be thanking me for saving you from that boring lecture," he said confidently.

I rolled my eyes at his stupid retort.

"This is the first time I've ever missed a class. This stupid act of yours is not funny at all. Now let me go!" I hissed.

"No, I'll not. Stay here until I tell you to go," he ordered.

What?

This made me more irritated.

"Who the hell are you to give me such orders? Help!" I screamed.

I was really annoyed.

"If you don't shut up, I'll kiss you! Unless that's what you actually want," he grinned.

No way!

He wouldn't dare. Although, it wouldn't have been my first kiss.

What the hell am I thinking?

I pushed him hard and distanced myself from him. "Stay away from me, asshole! I hate you!" I shouted.

His jaw clenched in anger. "Why do you hate me so much? I don't recall doing anything to you. Is there a reason you despise me so much? You want me, don't you?"

He was now walking towards me, and I continued to step away from him. His eyes never left mine, asking for answers.

"Are you out of your mind? Guys like you make me sick. Just keep one thing in your little brain: you are not my type." I looked at him from head to toe, making a disgusted face.

"Who is it then? Noah? I see the way he looks at you, the poor boy."

I was surprised by his retort, but didn't show it.

That means Nina was right?

He also noticed Noah.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Besides, he's not like you. You are a selfish jerk! After last night I thought . . ." I stopped myself from saying anything further and shook my head.

It was very hard here for me to judge people properly.

"You thought what?" he asked softly.

I looked at him and there was sincerity in his eyes. They were pleading for answers.

"I thought you weren't as bad as people here say you are. I thought I'd seen another side of you. You've a heart who cares for others, but . . ." I stopped, taking a deep breath and continued, "But today, you showed me who you really are! It's all a stunt! You played with me," I yelled.

A tear escaped from my eye and immediately, I covered my face with my hands. I didn't want to show him my weak side.

"I still can't believe it that you took those pictures . . . Why Max, why?" I asked between sobs.

"Damn, Jessica!" He let out a frustration groan. "Do you really think I did that?"

I didn't answer.

He sighed. "How can you be so stupid? Listen Jessica, I don't date. It's against my nature. And why would I pull such a stunt when it could damage my reputation? Plus, you're a nice girl. I won't hurt you."

I removed my hands and looked at him. His honest eyes bored into mine as if trying to convince me he was not lying. His quivering lower lip begged me to believe him, my heart told me he would never lie to me, my mind said give him another chance...

Wait a minute!

"It wasn't a date," I stated, narrowing my eyes.

He rolled his eyes. "Does it really matter?"

Who did it then?

"Who is the culprit then?" I managed to ask.

"You don't need to worry about it. I've handled it. They did it to me, to damage my image . . . not yours." He looked away but I noticed the pain in his eyes.

Why did they want to damage his image?

And why he looked so . . . hurt?

"Why is it such a big fuss?" I crossed my arms.

He chuckled. "You're new here, that's why you don't know. As I said, I don't date and I never take any girl out either, so it's just a bit of gossip for them. But don't worry; they will forget about it soon."

Again, same thing? Do I need to remind him that it wasn't a date?

"But it was only coffee . . . It wasn't a date." I lifted an eyebrow when I saw the edges of his lips turn up.

He took a step in my direction as a small smile crept on his face and realization hit me!

"Or was it?" I blurted out.

What the hell are you doing, Jazz? Just shut up right now!

He leaned over and whispered in my ear, "That depends on you, what you think?"

My jaw dropped. Jerk!

He threw the ball in my court.

C'mon Jazz, do something! But he was so close, I wasn't able to think properly! I could even feel his breath.

He smelled so good, like mint.

Oh God, I was going crazy.

I couldn't breathe! He noticed my situation and took some steps back.

"Breathe." He winked.

I blinked few times and groaned.

"Of course it wasn't," I stammered, breaking the eye contact.

"You look like a tomato. Actually, you look like a super cute tomato," he grinned.

He looked so cute while grinning.

Cute? What the hell? I shook my head.

Focus!

I playfully punched his shoulder. "Just shut up! I'm sorry about all of that. I'm new here, things are already different for me, and suddenly this whole prank thing? Now, everyone will judge me." I sighed and sat on the bench.

He sat beside me. "I know it must be hard for you, but don't worry. I'll make sure that it won't happen again," he said in a serious tone.

"How?" I was confused.

He rolled his eyes. "You don't need to know that." Then, he leaned close and added, "You just have to stick with me." He winked again.

"Ha-ha, very funny. So, this is your new trick for hitting on me?"

"I'm not hitting on you," he said as he stood up. "By the way, if you want, I can help you with tomorrow's test."

"What test?" I asked, a little confused.

He chuckled. "I knew you weren't paying attention. You were so engrossed in our lovely pics." He winked at me once again. "Anyways, Mrs. Ryder announced a surprise test for tomorrow. It's a pre-assignment capability test, which will decide how to allot the topics to the students."

Test?

"What? How come I didn't notice it? And you want to help me? For real? Why? What's the catch, Mister?" I lifted a brow.

"Yes, for real. I want to help you, and in return, you've to spend an afternoon with the hottest guy in this college."

"Ha-ha," I blurted sarcastically. "And where do I find this guy?"

He rolled his eyes. "C'mon, it will be fun and we'll get to know each other more," he chirped dramatically, clapping his hands.

I bursted out laughing. "God, you are so funny. I don't know why everyone was giving me warnings to stay away from you . . . you're not too bad actually."

He looked at me for a second and I saw some emotions flickered in his eyes. However, he quickly recovered and said, "I am glad you found me funny. Anyways, are you up for lunch?"

Weird?

I shrugged. "Okay, I'll see you at lunch."

"You're leaving?" he asked when I grabbed my bag.

"Yeah, it's almost time. I don't want to be late for another class. Or . . . do you want me to skip another class?" Once more, I lifted my eyebrow.

"Of course not," he replied. "I want you to skip college."

"What?" I asked, shocked.

No way, I'd never bunked college.

I shook my head and started walking towards the door when he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer.

"Wait."

"What are you doing?" I managed to ask, ignoring the sparks I felt with his touch.

Why he was affecting me so much?

Normally if anyone had tried to do such thing, I would have definitely slapped them. This guy, though, was making me crazy. I felt different around him. I didn't need to rethink my actions. I felt free, like a normal teenage girl who wanted to live her life freely without any restrictions. Somewhere, I lost her because of a heartbreak and family responsibilities.

"Are you nervous?" he asked, softly and tightened the grip.

I blinked but didn't answer. I was so lost in his deep ocean blue eyes.

"You're coming with me, right?"

"I've never bunked. It's not right. Can't we go when it's lunch time?" I asked, finally getting my senses back.

He rolled his eyes. "C'mon Jazz, live a little! Besides, everything has a first time."

He sounded like Mahi, who always wanted me to do such wrong things because they were fun.

Should I go with him?

He looked at me with a sincere gaze, blue eyes trying convince and reassure. He was someone you felt like you could never say no to. There was something about him that made me want to break all of my personal rules, about breaking the trust of my family. I'd never met someone as intoxicatingly genuine as him. It was dangerous, but I felt myself cracking.

I'd never experienced such things before, so why not now? I was a free bird, now. There was no harm in a little bit of fun, right? My mind started buzzing with the possibilities.

But should I trust Max?

I guess, there was no harm in giving him a chance. Plus, I wanted to know the real side of the bad boy that he was definitely hiding from everyone.

I took a deep breath and nodded. His face lit up and he gave me his million dollar smile which immediately melted my heart.

Oh God! I'm already regretting this.

"Let's go," he smiled again.

I smiled back and gulped down realizing what was happening with me.

He was a jerk, yet I liked being with him. I might have had a crush on him!

Nina was right.

Damn, I was in a big trouble.
