*Jessica P.O.V*

"Ugh, why the hell they can't shut up," I scoffed, rolling over in my slovenly sheets as the sunlight hissed at my face

"You can't blaim them swty. It's your marriage after all. You can't expect them to chat in low voices." She pokes my side.

My eyes opened, my eyelashes faintly batting against my lids when I blinked. Then I looked at Mahi who was grinning widely. "It's the least they can do after our last night dancing session. We danced till 2 a.m yaar... And now it's what," I stopped and turned around to check my phone, noticing the big 8 figure at the home screen. My jaw dropped as I rubbed my temples. "Dammit! Tell them to talk quietly. I need my beauty sleep yaar," I pouted and fell back to the bed. Sleep drags me backward until...

Mahi chuckled, laying besides me. "C'mon jazz. Let them enjoy yaar. You know, it's the perfect occasion for our relatives to have a get together."

"Get together?" I shifted, raising my eyebrows at her. "Or gossips? Or should I say bitching?"

She rolled her eyes and said, "You're also going to be a part of them."

"Ah! Please." I waved my hand and got up, realizing the fact that Mahi did this purposefully. "I'm not gonna be a part of their gossip club, but you are heading into the right direction."

"What do you mean?" Mahi puzzled.

"Drop the act. I know you were trying to wake me up by pushing me in their stupid club." I gave her a pointed look.

"Well, I was getting bore and your others friends are also sleeping. So..."

I huffed and closed my eyes, "It's my last day here. Let me sleep yaar."

"Exactly. It's your last day with us," she mumbled quietly.

My eyes shot open and I cursed mentally realising how selfish I was being. I looked at Mahi and noticed how upset she was.

I know it's too early to be up, but I've waited for this day for so long and now when it's time, I shouldn't waste it in bed.

"Mahi..." I started but cut off with the laughter of Mahi. I furrowed my eyebrows and gave her a confused look.

"Well, I was using the upset card and you just fell for it," she giggled and took few breathe to calm down her laughter.

I stared at her, catching the lie behind this lame excuse but didn't say anything. I didn't want to make her more upset. I shook my head. "Whatever," I replied, sticking out my tongue and got up.

My muscles felt weak, just like my energy. I let out an exasperated sigh, groaning as I rolled off from the bed to use the washroom.

"I'm going downstairs, if you need anything, just call me," Mahi said and walked towards the door.

"Nah, I'll be down in fifteen minutes," I shouted and closed the door.

I leaned towards the door and took a deep sighed. Then my eyes shifted to the mirror and became with the glassy layer of tears. As I blinked, they dripped from my eyelids, slid down my cheeks. My lower lip quivered as words slowly made their way out of my mouth, "This is my last day here."

*****

After taking a long shower, I dressed up in a long anarkali blue dress and went to downstairs.

"Ah, finally she is here."

I turned and found Aditi maasi who was grinning at me. "Namastey maasi." I greeted her and gave her my best fake smile.

She was one of those people who provoked my mother against my relation with Max.

If it wasn't my mother, I would have never tolerate her presence. I was actually relieved when I heard that she won't be able to make before the day of marriage.

God knows, what she was hiding under her sleeves!

However, my mother was extremely upset, knowing her only sister won't be with her in preparations. Like, She would actually help her. Such relatives are born to spoil the happiness. They just can't digest happy moments. I shook my head and scoffed, realising how my thoughts were going in wrong direction.

I should be happy today!

"Are you okay, beta?" Aditi maasi asked, lifting her eye brows.

"Ofcourse maasi. I'm perfect," I replied and looked around to find a way to escape.

"Well, you weren't listening," she pointed out.

"C'mon maasi. It's my marriage today. Everything is so overwhelming. You can't expect me to concentrate on everything." I gave her an innocent look, glancing at my mother who was coming in our direction.

"That's why I was telling your mother to arrange the marriage in December. We need few months for the preparations. I can't understand why they want to do everything in one month only. It feels like, they just want to kick you out from the house. I mean, now every one knows about your affair with that," she scrunched her nose and added, "firangi. I can't even understand what's wrong with you. You will regret this jassu beta. Those firangi-"

"Max," I cut her in. My blood was boiling but I didn't want to give her any satisfaction by losing my temper. I needed to deal with this calmly.

"What?" She furrowed her eyebrows.

"His name is Max, not firangi. And he is my fiance." My jaw clenched and I crossed my arms, to control the temper. My eyes flickered to my mother who got stuck with other relative, but her eyes were fixed on I only.

Come soon mom, I won't be able to hold my temper.

She let out a sigh. "He is not like us beta. You won't be able to adjust between them."

That's it!

"Yes, he is not like us because he is special. You don't have any right-" I stopped myself when I noticed my mother standing behind her with a frowned on her face. It took us months to convinced my mother for our relation and now, because of few negative comments, I couldn't lose it.

I know, I have to gave her answer but right now, the only thing mattered is Max. My mother won't allowed any disrespect towards elders despite of the fact how undeserving ther are.

I took a deep breath and smiled, "I'll be very happy if you come and pick me for my pakhfera. That way you can see how sweet and lovely they are."

I mentally grinned when I saw the shock on her face. It was clearly unexpected for her. My hatred towards her is very famous in our relatives so my invitation would surely blow their mind.

"That would be great and I'm so happy to see that you're making efforts jassu," my mother chirped in and patted my shoulder. "Chalo, iss shaadi se kuch to acha hua."

"Maa," I hissed.

"Just joking," Mom chuckled and turned to maasi, "what you say aditi. Will you go?"

Aditi maasi blinked. "Um, sure. If jassu wants me to check then I'll surely support her," She smirked.

"I didn't mean to check-"

"It's okay jassu. She is just kidding. You know how childish she can be, right aditi," mom gave aditi maasi a questioning look.

"Ofcourse didi." Aditi maasi shrugged but I could sense something was going in her evil mind.

Then, I realised what the hell I was thinking when I invited her for picking me up? Now, she got the chance to make up any story about Max and his family.

Ugh! That's the issue for later. Right now, I should focus on my marriage and the moments I was going to spend with Max.

"Oh God, I'm so fucking tired right now."

I choked and spit out the juice, I was drinking when I heard the cursing of Kyle from another room.

"Shit," Nina mumbled and got up to rubbed my back.

"Sorry but can you please call him here?" I asked her after wiping my mouth.

She nodded and went away. A smile tugged on my lips, noticing her appearance as she was wearing an Indian dress. I felt a warm sensation, realising how lucky, I was to have such amazing friends.

"Owww, what the hell?" Kyle growned as Nina dragged him towards my room.

"Kyle," I took a deep breath and added, "What I told you about cursing in this house?"

"This buttock needs a slap," Nina frowned and pushed his shoulder at which he winced.

"Nina," I glared at her. "You're also not allowed to use such words."

"I didn't use F word," she pouted.

I rolled my eyes. "You guys are impossible."

"Can you blaim me?" He asked rubbing his shoulder. "They are treating me like, I'm some kind of servant. I agree, that I've good muscles and I'm smarter than others," he smirked and Nina gave her an annoyed look but he continued, "but I still have feelings. My legs are hurting so much. You know how much times I've visited the marriage hall to check the arrangements?"

"You could have drive there," Nina pointed.

"Ofcourse, like I've the license here," he glared at her.

"Who sent you to check arrangements?" I interrupted them and crossed my arms.

"Your Aditi maasi," he mumbled and my eyes widened. He noticed my reaction and quickly waved his hand. "It was my decision actually. I wanted to help so I asked your father. He hesitated at first but then sent me to check, if the florist arrived it not. He was going to Max guest house and dropped me at wedding hall. It wasn't that far, so I decided to walk and came back. After that your maasi asked me, if I can drop few things there and now it was my 6th round," he finished and breathed out.

I clenched my jaw and my blood boiled. That's it. She didn't have any right to treat my friends like this.

"Where is she?" I shouted and walked towards the door but Nina stopped me.

"Jessica, don't do anything stupid," she said softly.

"I'm doing stupid?" I throw my hands in the air. "This is my house and I can't allow a outsider to treat my friend like a servant."

"Nina is right Jessica. She is an outsider but a manipulative bitch. Also your mother's sister. You know how our mom's are? They always have a soft spot for their side relatives. You don't want any trouble, specially on your wedding day, right?"

When I refused to look or answer him, he put his hand on my shoulder and turned me towards him. "Jessica, if she is trying to break us then don't give her the satisfaction."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Kyle. You should have told me earlier. I'm feeling so bad right now. You're here to enjoy my wedding, not for-"

"And I'm enjoying it." Kyle smiled and pressed his hand on my shoulders.

I nodded and smiled, "Thanks. You guys are the best." I hugged him and then turned to Nina, who saved me from doing a big mistake. "Thank you for being here with him."

"Ah you're not getting rid of me that easily. I'll haunt you after death also," she chuckled and hugged me.

"For sure," I grinned. "Anyways where is Noah?"

"He is with Max. Kyle ditched him for you so Noah decided to give him a company. Don't be surprised, if they came out of as best buddies." Nina rolled her eyes then his eyes dropped on my hands and she gave me a questioning look. "I wanted to ask you earlier but didn't get the chance. Why you're tying a handkerchief on your wrist?"

"Did you got hurt?" Kyle asked and grabbed my hand to check it.

"Aree nahi." I shook my head.

"That means no, right?" Nina asked.

"Yeah, nahi means no and I've tied this to hide the kangana. It's indian ritual in which they tied several knots to a thread. After marriage I'll open knots of Max's thread and he will open mine," I explained and grinned mentally, thinking how Max would open such tightly secure knots.

"Wow, it seems so much fun," Kyle grinned. "I would love to see how you guys would do this."

"Yeah I'll also be there to cheer for you," Nina laughed and I joined her.

Our laughter interruptions at the sound of the door opening. I mentally cringed at the sight of my lovely Aditi maasi.

"Jassu, you're still here? It's already 3 beta, you need to go to the parlour," she said and frowned.

Sometimes her expressions made me wonder if she is actually concerned for me or just trying to act nice!

"Yeah, I was just waiting for Mahi. Then we will go together," I replied and turned to Nina, "you're also coming with us, right?"

"I was thinking to visit Max first, but don't worry, I'll join you there."

"Oh okay." I nodded and pulled out my phone to call Mahi.

I was about to dialled her number when my phone started ringing. I smiled when I saw Mahi's image popping on my screen.

"Hey Mahi," I answered her call. "I was about to call you."

"Yeah I'm downstairs. Hurry up," she announced and hung up.

I looked at my phone and let out a frustrated sigh.

Why kanha ji, why? In my whole life, you choose this particular day to take all the tests of my patience?

"Well, that's my clue to leave," I shrugged and grabbed my bag from the bed. "I'll see you guys later," I said and started walking towards door when I noticed Aditi maasi who stood there with a hopeful expression on her face.

"What is it, maasi?" I tilted my head.

"Um, will you take mansi with you? She don't know any good parlour here."

"Don't worry, I've already hired few make-up artist for all of you." I shrugged.

"But, she is the only cousin sister you have, so it will be good, if you take her with you. You know, your sister should be with you at this moment," she said and glanced at Nina.

"I know maasi, but mansi and I hardly know each other. I need those people who understand me better. Plus, Mahi is going to drive me there so I can't tell her to leave and they have allowed only one member with bride. But, yeah later, Mansi can join me with Nina," I said and walked outside without waiting for her reaction.

I quickly reached downstairs and shouted, "Maa, I'm going parlour."

"Okay, give me a call after getting ready and listen your maasi was asking for a parlour," she said and came outside from the kitchen.

"Maa, we need to give booking in advance. I just can't take anyone at last moment." I rolled my eyes. "Anyways I've sorted that out. Now bye, Mahi is here." I hugged her and ran outside before she could say anything.

"You packed everything, right?" She shouted after me.

"Yes Maa, I've got every thing." I shouted back and jumped inside the car.

"I can sense the drama," Mahi said and started the car.

"Ah, you can't imagine," I replied and narrated the events from the morning.

"I can't wait to see the drama in marriage," she chuckled and winked at me. "But this time, your Maasi will regret it."

Kangana Or gana bandhna:-

On the morning of the wedding day, the bride and the groom (each in their respective homes), sit for the puja where the sacred thread or mouli is tied to their right wrists. Hey guys,

I know I took so many days... um okay... months... to update this chapter but I was stuck with writers block. 😧😧😧😧

But now I'm back. I wrote this chapter in 4 days only. Can you believe it?

Now now before you start yelling or cursing for not writing any scene of Jax  (Jessica+Max) then I've a good explanation.

Well, I actually re-read the story for like 4 or 5 times and realised that I never mentioned anything about her family. Ofcourse except in first 3 chapters. The story was placed in New York but I can't left out the Indian part or her friends/family members. I also want to write something before jumping on the wedding scene.

I hope you will understand.

I promise, the next update will be out soon. And this time I'll mention their wedding.

Oops I just told you about the next bonus chapter!!! 😮😮😮😨😨

No worries!! It took me so long to uodate so you guys deserve it.

Anyways, suggestion for next to next bonus chapter????
