The dinner went by mostly uneventful.

Taehyung sat to the right of Jeongguk while Jimin sat opposite to him, silverware lightly scraping against their plates.

It was slightly awkward for Taehyung who had never been to such event, never had to commemorate a deceased loved one.

At one point or another he stopped eating at the sight of Jimin playing around with the food on his plate.

Jeongguk quickly noticed the change in his omega's scent, placing a warm hand on his thigh before squeezing lightly.

Instantly Taehyung was looking up at him, sad pout on his lips decreasing when Jeongguk stared back at him.

It brought him back to moments ago in their bedroom when Taehyung's face shone in disbelief at the compliment.

The way he bashfully thanked the alpha as the apples of his cheeks burned red and shivers crawled up his spine.

"Eat," he murmured softly, loud enough for only Taehyung to hear.

Dinner proceeded as planned, the queen speaking to Jimin lightly about how wonderful the garden looked.

Apparently her sister loved nature and outdoors, spending most of her time caring for plants.

Taehyung was glad the conversation was never directed towards him, quietly sitting and accompanying Jimin.

The other omega's eyes were still puffy but it was clear that makeup had been applied overtop to lessen the redness.

He smiled weakly as the queen spoke to him in hushed whispers, nodding every so often.

The night concluded with a toast for Jimin's parents although Taehyung was not allowed to drink.

It was not like he wanted to anyway, but the queen brought up the reason being that he could possibly be carrying pups unknowingly and it could be harmful.

Taehyung had blushed softly at her words before nodding lightly in understanding and avoided correcting her by stating he was still very much a virgin.

Jeongguk had cleared his throat lightly at his mother's words, picking up his own glass of champagne.

Jimin had stayed silent from across the table as he preferred to not cause commotion with the revelation.

When they got back to their bedroom later that night, Taehyung calmly took off his makeup and dress before changing into his sleepwear set.

It consisted of a white silk tank top with lacy detail on the neckline and matching pants.

Jeongguk had quickly changed out of his clothes much faster than the other which explained why he was already in bed.

This time Taehyung was less hesitant to go to his side, crawling into bed with him.

Jeongguk was not reading his book as Taehyung shyly pressed his head against the male's chest.

Seconds later there was a hand going around his waist, practically scooping him in.

Taehyung's nose scrunched up at the smell of alcohol coming from Jeongguk's mouth, "You smell like alcohol."

Jeongguk could detect the distaste in his voice without even having to look at him, brows drawn together.

"Do you not enjoy alcohol?" He asked simply.

"Never had it before." Taehyung commented lightly as he enjoyed the feeling of Jeongguk's heart beating against his chest.

It was clear that Jeongguk was surprise by the way he remained silent, lost in thought before a sound of acknowledgement left his lips.

They stayed quiet after that, Taehyung finally lulled to sleep with every rise and fall of Jeongguk's chest.

The following day it was the alpha who offered to take Taehyung horseback riding.

The omega had immediately agreed with a smile before quickly getting ready and joining Jeongguk by the door.

The walk to the stables had been relatively calming, Taehyung humming at the birds chirping.

He was holding onto Jeongguk's arm as they walked into the stables.

Jeongguk was looking for Wooshik to ask him to prepare the saddle for his horse, Sapphire.

A loud gasp left Taehyung's lips as they passed by a horse with a shiny blonde coat.

It was gorgeous, no doubt about that but the real reason why Taehyung grew surprised was the size of its stomach.

It was huge and protruding horribly at the sides, making him blink back at the large animal.

"Whoa!" He said in astonishment, feeling Jeongguk's gaze on him.

"She's pregnant." Jeongguk stated when he saw his mate's concerned expression.

Realization dawned upon him, making Taehyung blink back at the horse with interest.

"I've never seen an expecting horse before," Taehyung said lightly, unconsciously squeezing Jeongguk's arm in excitement.

The mother-to-be was awkwardly moving around her stable to get more comfortable despite the huge belly.

"She's practically glowing," Taehyung commented with a smile at the sight of sun rays beaming onto her shiny coat.

Jeongguk did not get a chance to comment further because Wooshik was quickly approaching.

He immediately bowed for both of them repeatedly before wiping his hands on his dirty work pants.

After Jeongguk instructed him to prepare his horse he was bowing once again before disappearing.

"Come on," Jeongguk murmured as he placed his hand on the small of his back and began to guide him out of the stables.

It did not take long for Wooshik to return with Sapphire, horse neighing softly at the sight of its owner.

Taehyung grew suddenly excited at the thought of riding a horse again with the company of his alpha.

He smiled politely at Wooshik who handed Jeongguk the reins before hurrying along to get back to work.

Taehyung watched as Jeongguk patted his horse's coat lightly, a clear sign of affection.

"Are you ready?" He suddenly addressed Taehyung who eagerly nodded as he walked closer to Jeongguk for further instruction.

"Like last time, put your foot here first." He told him as Taehyung followed suit, feeling giddy as hands went to his hips.

Once he was successfully on top of the horse Jeongguk quickly sat behind him before pushing him flush against his chest.

This time it felt much more natural and relaxed as Jeongguk held the reins and Taehyung felt himself getting oddly calm in his company.

He hummed lightly as the horse began to move around the field, Jeongguk's veiny hands on display.

They rode for a few minutes into the vast field, Taehyung perking up immediately at the sight of a poppy field coming into view.

They had not ridden this way the last time therefore this was all very exciting for Taehyung who gasped in delight.

"Flowers!" He cheered immediately before realizing his outburst and flushed in embarrassment.

He was so sure the alpha would simply ride past but the sight of him slightly pulling the reins back and making a soft sound for Sapphire to stop had his stomach filling with butterflies.

Jeongguk quickly got off before helping Taehyung down as the omega stumbled slightly against his chest.

This time he did not pull away immediately, shyly burying his face against Jeongguk's neck.

He smelled so good, so masculine and heavenly as Taehyung involuntarily sighed.

The grip on his hips tightened as Jeongguk began to sniff at his hair, scents mixing together.

Taehyung slowly pulled away moments later before smiling up at Jeongguk sweetly and confidently took his hand in his.

It was clear that the alpha was surprised at his sudden boldness but did not object when Taehyung began to lead him into the field of yellow poppies.

Taehyung's scent was so sweet and strong in his nose as Jeongguk let his omega take lead, tingles spreading where their hands were laced together.

Sweet giggles burst from Taehyung's lips at the sight of two butterflies dancing together.

It made Jeongguk's chest feel funny as Taehyung finally stopped right in the center of the field.

Sapphire had stayed busy sniffling the grass as the two mates stood in the middle of the flower field.

Taehyung turned around to face Jeongguk as he let go of his hand, the alpha quickly finding he did not like the empty feeling.

Instead, he was reaching up to cup Taehyung's cheek softly as the omega's breathing hitched at the close proximity. 

He swallowed harshly as Jeongguk's hot breath touched his face, chocolate brown eyes peering down at him with such intensity that had him shaking.

The moment Jeongguk's eyes began to flicker down to his lips, Taehyung found himself unable to contain his desire.

"Please," he whispered softly into the wind, tummy swirling with butterflies at the anticipation.

And it might not have been the first time Jeongguk pressed their lips together but this one was so unlike any other they had shared before.

It was gentle, Taehyung's lips shakily following Jeongguk's lead as the alpha held back on roughly shoving his tongue into his mouth like before.

The hand around his waist tightened as Jeongguk deepened the kiss by asking for entrance.

Taehyung immediately parted his lips, small whimper swallowed by Jeongguk's mouth.

He held onto the nape of Jeongguk's neck firmly as the alpha molded their lips together.

The alpha's lips were slightly chapped and rough against his own but Taehyung found himself loving it even more.

The second they pulled apart Taehyung was smiling shyly as he caught his breath.

It was Jeongguk who lightly lifted his chin before pressing their lips together once again, unable to get enough.

He found that he no longer cared about Taehyung's past nor the rumors he had come to know.

All that mattered was that his omega was in his arms, pliant and warm as he got a taste of sweet honey.
