Taehyung whined when Jeongguk attacked his lips once again, the boy practically melting in his arms.

His lips felt swollen by the time Jeongguk pulled away, breathing labored.

"Alpha-" Taehyung began softly only be cut off.

"Jeongguk," the alpha corrected him shortly before leaning down to press his lips down his jaw.

His words had Taehyung's eyes widening in shock before a sweet smile rose onto his lips.

He would get to call him by his first name! That was definitely progress.

A short giggle left his lips as he shakily reached out to thread his fingers through Jeongguk's hair.

A soft squeak fell from his mouth at the feeling of Jeongguk lightly sucking over his mate mark, making him shudder at the feeling.

The hand on his hip was gentle as Jeongguk buried his face into the crook of his neck.

They became so lost in the moment that it wasn't until Taehyung noticed a sign in the distance that they parted.

A ray of thunder flashing down in the distance had the omega's eyes widening as he finally took notice of the dark changes in the sky.

The sun was no longer visible behind the dark heavy clouds, low rumbling to signal the arriving storm

Jeongguk seemed to have not noticed but Taehyung found himself trying to push Jeongguk off lightly but to no avail.

A single stutter from his lips seemed to finally catch the latter's attention, "Jeongguk-!"

The first utter of his name on Taehyung's lips had the alpha immediately pulling back to look at his face, low growl leaving his lips

Why was he being interrupted when he just wanted to scent his omega!

Before he could do something immature and embarrassing like whine at Taehyung, there was a flash of lightening in the sky followed by water droplets onto Taehyung's nose.

A brief look of amusement shone onto Jeongguk's face when Taehyung scrunched up his nose cutely.

Within seconds they were jogging towards Jeongguk's horse who neighed softly when Jeongguk began to pull the reigns.

Instead of climbing onto the horse they began to run down the field alongside it.

The rain did not wait a second longer before it gradually began to pour, Taehyung giggling loudly as he ran ahead of the alpha who was pulling the horse along.

At some point Jeongguk let go of the reigns once Sapphire ran ahead of both of them, leaving them behind.

Taehyung shrieked lightly as a hand wrapped around his waist to pull him back, wet hair clinging to his forehead as did his clothes.

"No!" He laughed softly when Jeongguk forced him to turn around.

The alpha could not help enjoy seeing this carefree side of the omega who smiled and laughed with him often.

The second Taehyung turned to face him, the alpha was pressing their lips together, slightly startling Taehyung who gasped lightly before relaxing.

The rain was pouring heavily on them but it seemed like neither of them cared at that point.

And maybe it was the taste of his lips or the way Jeongguk was staring at him that made Taehyung bold.

Bold enough to say, "Catch me if you can."

And with that he was slipping between Jeongguk's fingers and booking it down a short hill, loud panicked giggles leaving his lips at the chase.

He could hear a growl from behind him as the alpha accepted the challenge, eyes focusing on the omega currently trying to outrun him.

Taehyung could have sworn he felt hands around his waist several times as Jeongguk caught up with him quickly.

They were closer to the stables when Jeongguk finally tugged at his arm and swirled him around.

His eyes were darker than usual with red threatening to shine through, most likely due to his wolf getting excited from the chase.

His breathing was slightly heavy as Taehyung's cheeks reddened and a smile graced his lips.

Jeongguk's eyes began to flicker down to his mate mark, gently pushing his head to the side before rubbing the spot with the pad of his thumb.

It was clear that his wolf side had taken the chase a little too serious, with the goal of claiming the omega once he collected his prize.

But since Taehyung was already claimed as his mate, he was trying to establish his dominance over him by touching his mate mark as a reminder.

And Taehyung being the sweet, naive omega simply blushed at the touch and gave him more access.

"My omega," he murmured lowly, causing Taehyung to whimper unconsciously at the possessive words.

He found himself nodding lightly before leaning up to peck Jeongguk's lips bashfully.

The walk back into the palace grounds was loud and clumsy as Taehyung almost slipped on the floor several times.

If it weren't for Jeongguk's quick reflexes, the omega would be crying instead of stifling his giggles.

By the time they had gotten back to the stables Wooshik was pulling Sapphire along in a rain jacket and boots.

There was a guard standing by one of the main hallways who stared at them a second too long before adverting his gaze elsewhere.

Taehyung recognized him as the guard who instructed him on the palace when he first arrived, faint dimples on his cheeks.

He looked slightly amused at the sight of the king and his mate dripping wet and making their way to their chamber.

As if sensing a momentary gaze on his omega Jeongguk was quick to pull him against his side, away from prying eyes.

Especially considering Taehyung's shirt and pants clung to his body, curvy figure outlined perfectly.

They seemed to sober up slightly after that, Taehyung smiling shyly when Jeongguk opened the bedroom door for him.

In the end it was Taehyung who showered first while Jeongguk stripped off his wet clothes and waited his turn.

"You can go in," Taehyung spoke softly as he walked out of the bathroom clad in a pair of soft fuzzy pajamas.

It was only mid-day but the omega did not exactly have any more plans to go out in that kind of weather.

Jeongguk only had his underwear on but Taehyung avoided his gaze completely, cheeks flushed when the alpha brushed past him.

He patiently waited by their bed until the sound of the water turning off filled his ears.

The storm was still going strong outside as Taehyung sighed softly and snuggled further into Jeongguk's pillow.

Footsteps could be heard approaching before Jeongguk was pressing up against him from behind.

His chest flush against Taehyung's back as his arm slid around his waist and pulled him closer.

Taehyung whined lightly when he could feel Jeongguk's clothed member against his ass, hot breath tickling his ear.

"J-Jeongguk?" Taehyung began slowly.

A low growl had him freezing immediately before, "You smell so good."

Taehyung blinked several times as a shaky breath left his lips at the feeling of Jeongguk nosing at his neck.

"Alpha?" Taehyung began again, this time quickly silenced by Jeongguk.

"Quiet," he murmured against his neck as Taehyung swallowed harshly and nodded.

Tingles spread throughout his body as he turned his head to give him more access.

"Don't ever run away from me unless you want the chase," Jeongguk spoke lowly.

Taehyung shivered lightly at his words, cheeks flushed as he realized what he meant.

Wolves only chase their prey with the intention of hunting them in the end.

To collect a prize.

Jeongguk's wolf had thought that Taehyung was trying to lure him in with a chase, wanting his alpha to mate him in the end.

It was a dangerous game to play and Taehyung found himself glad that Jeongguk hadn't lost control and tried to take him then and there.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't-" Taehyung stuttered in embarrassment before the hand on his waist tightened.

"My wolf craves yours." Jeongguk expressed, not exactly sure why he felt the need to tell Taehyung.

The omega felt goosebumps rise onto his body at the words, eyes shut briefly.

"Mine does too." He whispered softly minutes later when soft snores left Jeongguk's lips.
