It was only a little over a week later that Taehyung found himself in the company of his beloved Hoseok hyung and his partner in crime, Yoongi hyung.

Their friendship was definitely an odd one, seeing as he was the only omega amongst two grown alpha males.

But in all honestly they were simply like his older brothers, caring for him and protecting him from the village itself.

Hoseok was a carpenter, working at a small shop in the center of the village.

Meanwhile Yoongi worked at a flower shop, it was extremely unusual and rare to see an alpha like himself, quiet and serious, working at such place but strangely enough it worked out just perfectly.

The owner was a little skeptical at first but after seeing how many young girls entered the shop only to give the alpha shy smiles and bat their lashes, she let him stay.

But Min Yoongi paid no mind, focused on work and nothing else.

"For the love of God, can you get away from me." Hoseok growled lowly when he sneezed once more, nose a bright shade of red and eyes watery.

A loud giggle left Taehyung's lips as he munched on some sweet bread, watching as Hoseok glared at Yoongi who was smiling smugly.

The alpha had been sneezing nonstop since Yoongi arrived smelling strongly like flowers.

"At least I don't smell like saw dust and shit." Yoongi retorted.

"You do smell like shit, it's penetrating my nose!" Hoseok began to gasp again, getting ready to sneeze.

"Well, I think he smells lovely." Taehyung hummed when Yoongi's sweet scent flooded his nose.

"Thanks, Taehyungie. I'll bring you a flower next time." Yoongi said, face still blank but that was just his normal expression.

Nonetheless Taehyung smiled brightly, thanking the male repeatedly.

They were near the center of town, Hoseok had just gotten out of work.

Taehyung had managed to get out of the house with the excuse that he was going out to shop for some clothes for the wedding.

It hadn't exactly been a lie and he did manage to get some nice things but he couldn't help himself from staying a bit longer with his hyungs.

That was the only way his mother bothered to give him some money, knowing that he had to appear presentable before the royal family.

It had been a while since he had seen Yoongi, missing the alpha's sweet scent yet intimidating stance.

"Say... How did you manage to leave your home this time Taehyung?" Hoseok asked, finally realizing that Taehyung was alone without his mother hovering over his shoulder.

Taehyung was silent for a second, contemplating whether it would be appropriate to bring up the pending conversation but in the end decided against it.

He simply brushed it off saying his mother was having a good day since her famously delicious jello had been selling like crazy all morning and she allowed him to go outside.

And the alphas bought it, not expecting for the boy to lie straight to their faces.

Instead, they talked and laughed all evening long, and when a strange alpha gained the courage to approach Taehyung, they were ready to shoo him away.

Hoseok and Yoongi liked to bicker back and forth like a married couple but they were a team when it came to defending the little omega, glaring at the intruder who was making Taehyung uncomfortable.

The boy was too soft spoken and shy to say anything to the male standing near them, introducing himself to the omega.

"He's not interested, walk away." Hoseok spoke seriously, watching as Taehyung looked down at his own lap without a word.

But the male wasn't moving, trying to make conversation with the unresponsive omega while the two alphas glared at him.

It wasn't until Yoongi growled lowly in his throat, standing up abruptly that the male took a step back with his hands up.

"I'm going to give you one last chance to walk away before I punch that smirk off your face." Yoongi spoke, face hard and fists clenched.

"I didn't know he was already claimed min." The male spoke sarcastically, already familiar with the omega's overprotective alpha friends.

Yoongi didn't bother replying, instead stared him down until the male grew uncomfortable with his glare and walked off with a scoff.

"Thank you guys." Taehyung said softly afterwards, thinking how much he was going to miss his friends once he left for the palace.

He would miss their endless jokes and Hoseok's loud obnoxious laugh. He would miss Yoongi's silent desperate pleas for compliments and the way he would say something so incredibly sweet and kind to him yet keep a completely straight face.

It was endearing and the omega couldn't believe that he was leaving them behind in only two more weeks.

Jeongguk was angry to put it simple.

He was angry at his mother and father, he was angry at Taehyung, he was angry at himself, he was angry at the world.

And that was the only explanation as to how he found himself thrusting wildly into a blonde haired omega while her loud moans filled his ears.

But it was almost as if he couldn't hear it, face void of emotion as he just continued snapping his hips.

The black surgical mask over his mouth was enough to protect his true identity, the female was unable to recognize him as the prince.

"Y-Yes! Yes, right there." She moaned loudly as Jeongguk sped his thrusts.

There was sweat dripping down his temple as he breathed heavily before he quickly pulled out, drawing a whiny moan from the female.

He removed the condom and pumped himself a few times before spilling onto her lower back, eyes hard and not a sound left him.

And yet when he left without the simple knowledge of her name, he was still restless.

He had thought perhaps a distraction would help take away the thoughts of a certain omega, but it only made things worse.

And the curiosity remained for the next few weeks.

Taunting him every time his father asked him if he was preparing himself for the wedding and coronation.

Whenever his mother would silently ask the maids to bring things for Taehyung to his bedroom.

He didn't say a word to her but he would notice a new pair of shoes in the closet or the different shampoo bottles in the bathroom.

It came to the point where Jeongguk one day found a couple of brand-new lace panties in his drawers.

He shut his eyes tightly at the memory, recalling how he had to take deep breaths for a few minutes to calm himself down.

The image of Taehyung, his future mate wearing something like that for him made blood rush to his member even if he had yet to know how the omega even looked.

-

But it wasn't until the evening before Taehyung's eighteenth birthday, the day Taehyung was meant to be taken from his home, that he found himself contemplating going into the village earlier than anyone anticipated.

He was incredibly restless, unable to sleep for days on end just thinking about the omega.

Trying to figure out who he was.

The idea of marrying a total stranger was making him anxious and it didn't sit well with his wolf.

And so he decided to make an irrational decision.

The sun's beam was slowly starting to grow weaker as Jeongguk stared at his own reflection in the mirror.

He was wearing an all black outfit, extremely too casual for a royal wolf.

He had a black sweater over his head and a black surgical mask over his mouth, quite literally protecting his identity.

He gave himself one last look over before walking towards the door with one thought in mind.

Figure out what kind of person Kim Taehyung was.

And he did, but unfortunately it wasn't what he had been hoping for.

He had made it to the village much later than anticipated without drawing too much attention to himself.

He had managed to enter a bar, deciding to take a drink to start the night.

It wasn't the first time Jeongguk had gone into town disguised but it was always stressful to do so.

The alpha had been silent for the most part, keeping to himself until the sound of an all too familiar name left one of the men's lips.

He had just entered the bar, making his way to a table with three other alpha when his loud obnoxious voice flooded Jeongguk's ears.

"That little omega Taehyung was roaming around alone again but that damn alpha took him before I could have my chance, what a fucking tease." His voice was annoyed as his friends laughed at his words.

Jeongguk felt a growl threatening to rise from his throat, trying to strain his ears to hear further.

There was no doubt in his mind that they were talking about him.

The mention of another alpha with him did not settle well with him, which would be the only explanation as to how he found himself walking over to the group of males with clenched fists and anger in his eyes.

But he managed to stop himself, at least until he calmed down, before approaching.

They were laughing loudly amongst themselves when he approached, making him clear his throat loudly and making them all immediately stop laughing.

Jeongguk could see the way they glared at him before something shifted in the way they looked at him, perhaps they could smell how superior his rank was to theirs but by the time they would figure it out he would be long gone.

Call it animal instinct.

"You speak of the omega, Kim Taehyung?" He asked, tone low and dark.

He could see the way they exchanged looks with one another before one of them spoke, "Yeah the one that's getting mated off to the prince. What a lucky bastard I tell you."

And Jeongguk would have ripped his head off for the insult but it wasn't the time for violence.

"Why's that?" He said quickly, leaving no room for anything else.

"Pretty little thing, and he knows it. Walking around like he doesn't know everyone is staring at his ass." One of them said.

"I feel bad for the prince, rumor has it he's slept with a few men from the docks and there's two alphas following after him like lost puppies. What a little slut, hiding behind an innocent face." Another laughed before someone brought their beer mugs together and they were chugging the alcohol.

There was no need to hear any more, he had heard enough.

There was rage coursing through his veins, body shaking with anger as he walked out of the bar.

His eyes were red, he could feel it, as he made his way back to the palace.

Disgust coursed through his body, unable to shake their words from his brain as he growled loudly and banged his fists on a wide brick wall, watching as it crumpled down upon impact.

The image of who was soon to be his omega sleeping around with other alphas blinded him with rage, eyes bulging.

But his mind was already made and there was no backing out, not anymore.

His pride was undeniably hurt and as much as he hated to admit it, he had been slowly warming up to the idea of having an omega around.

But the thought was long gone, now a distant and foolish dream.

He couldn't break off the wedding nor reject the omega for he needed him in order to be king, but he thought of something even better.

"Your life is going to be a living fucking hell, omega. Just you wait."
