~The Next Day: At School~

Betty had had to wear sunglasses all day, the black eye had gotten worse overnight and she couldn't let anyone see it.

But anyway, the girls had gotten through most of their classes...but then they were left with English.

As soon as the two walked in, Jughead smirked and let his eyes fall to Betty's ass. She blushed while Toni's mouth just fell open.

They went to their seats at the back of the classroom and Betty couldn't stop blushing making Toni tease her throughout the entire class.

But as soon as it was over Jughead called her back to stay for a minute.

Betty- W-What's the problem.

MrJones- Why were you wearing sunglasses all day?

Betty- Were you watching me in the halls? (smirks)

MrJones- Seriously, why are you wearing sunglasses inside?

Betty- No reaso-

Suddenly he pulled them off of her face, revealing the black eye.

MrJones- What the fuck? Who did that to you?!

Betty- No one! Just give me the sunglasses back!

She tried to grab the glasses from the man's hands but he grabbed her wrist before she could.

MrJones- Just tell me who did this.

Betty- My mom. (quietly)

MrJones- Shit...was it because I followed you on Instagram?

Betty- N-No it had nothing to do with you. My mom is just crazy.

MrJones- Is there anything I can do to help?

Betty- Why would you want to help me?

MrJones- Betty, if it isn't obvious enough, I like you. I want to make sure you're okay.

Immediately she started blushing, making the man chuckle.

But then they got back to their serious conversation.

Betty- I don't know what you could do?

MrJones- Well, you could stay with me after school so you're home less.

Betty- I would do that but the original reason that she did this was because I came home late.

MrJones- Well if you tell her you're doing work at school she couldn't get mad, right?

Betty- Yeah, I guess.

MrJones- Then let's do that. Do you wanna stay today?

Betty- I'm going home with Toni but on Monday, yeah.

MrJones- Alright, I'll see you Monday.

Betty- See you Monday.

He handed her the sunglasses and she walked out to Toni who was standing listening in the doorway.

Toni- I TOLD YOU!

Betty- Shhhh!!! You didn't need to tell that. (blushes)

Toni- But I was right.

Betty- Whatever. (blushes)

The rest of the night the two hung out together until Betty needed to be home. Luckily she didn't have to be home until later because it was a Friday but she was still nervous about seeing her mother again.

As she walked into her house her mother smiled and acted as if nothing had happened the day before; classic Alice Smith.

One minute she's acting like the perfect mother, the next she will smack her kid across the face and give her a black eye.

The two of them had dinner but didn't really speak, and then Betty just went to her room. She got in bed and went on her phone instantly noticing another Instagram notification.

Betty's heart skipped a beat as she went into her DM's and opened his.

On DM:

@jug_jones- You still haven't followed me on Instagram?

@xx_bettycoop_xx- I wasn't sure if I should.

@jug_jones- Why?

@xx_bettycoop_xx- Isn't that wrong?

@jug_jones- Who cares. I like you and you like me, there's no need for "wrong".

@xx_bettycoop_xx- Who said I liked you?

@jug_jones- No one, but it's pretty obvious sweetheart.

@xx_bettycoop_xx- Whatever.

She quickly left her DM's to follow him but as soon as she went back to her message with him she giggled.

@jug_jones- You're following me now I see.

@xx_bettycoop_xx- Yes.

@jug_jones- Finally, I'll talk to you soon, I have to finish doing some work.

@xx_bettycoop_xx- Okay, have a good night.

@jug_jones- You too.

Off DM:

Once she got off Instagram she had to tell Toni everything.

They ended up talking for hours about this Forbidden Romance but little did she know her mother heard a lot of it.
