*Beep beep beep*

I turned over and smacked my my alarm clock to the floor giving a groan. I laid in bed for a couple of minutes before getting out of bed and walking into the bathroom. I always made it a point to not look at the mirror in the morning because it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

I took a 20 minute shower then threw on my undergarments and walked out into my room. It was my first day of school here, and I didn't know either to go "dressy" or "casual". Then again my "dressy" wasn't dressy. I was thinking of different outfit combos for while till my door was barged into.

"Hey, h-" Oh sorry my dad said covering his eyes laughing.

"Dad!" I yelped, pulling a baggy sweatshirt from a box near me. "You can uncover, I'm decent now." I chuckled shuffling through boxes of clothes for some tights.

"You start school in half an hour, and breakfast is downstairs." He said throwing me a jean backpack. It use to belong to Gracie, her mom gave it to me after her funeral. I sighed in contentment to know that she would be with me today. I found my tights and slipped them on, and I put my stuff in the backpack and hurried downstairs.

"Eggs, bacon, and toast on the table Charles." I nodded to my mom as I grabbed an apple off the middle of the table and ate.

"So, are you excited for school?" My mom said sitting at the table with a cup of coffee.

"Really mom?" I scoffed. "It's just school, I'm not in elementary." I chuckled.

"I don't know, I just thought you might be?"

"No 10th graders know far too much about Highschool to know that it's just a waste of time." I said finishing my breakfast and putting the plate in the sink.

"Whatever you say." She laughed. She grabbed the keys and walked toward the door. I slung the backpack over my shoulder and followed her out to the car.

On our way to the school I saw a lot of people walking, in fact groups of people walking. It wasn't like a group of guys or a group of girls it was mixed. Mom drove up to the front of the school and parked. I looked out the window and stared at the big campus, it was bigger than I imagined for this small town.

"Are you ready? Do you want me to come with you? I can walk you to the office to get your schedule." She rushed out starting to unbuckle.

"No! Mom it's ok. I'm fine it's just school." I nervously chuckled. I unbuckled and slowly opened the door. I stepped out of the car and slung the backpack over my shoulder again before I could close he door my mom shouted.

"I LOVE YOU HONEY, HAVE A GOOD FIRST DAY!" My mom shouted, I'm guessing louder than she thought. I didn't say anything but close the door. As I turned around a few people were staring so I threw my hood over my semi dry hair, ducked my head down and walked toward the office.

On my way to the office I bumped into a big body. Before I could make contact with the floor an arm caught onto my back and hoisted me back up fast enough to make my hood fall off my head. When I looked up to see who it was I was met with the eyes of Grayson.

"Watch where you're going sweet pea." He winked. After that remark the hall erupted with a lot of whistled and howls. What was this a school of dogs? I rolled my eyes and walked out of his grasp toward the office where I was originally going.

After a while of the receptionist taking calls in the middle of her trying to find my schedule, she had finally handed it to me after the first bell rang which meant I had 6 minutes to get to my next class or I'd be late. Wouldn't that be just awesome for the first day?

I had found my home room a minute after the second bell rang. A that meant everyone was already there. I would be walking into an already full and accounted for class. I placed my hand on the knob and took in a breath before opening it. When I walked into the class room suddenly all eyes were on me.

"You must be the new student, um? Charlotte?" The teacher asked from her desk.

"Yes." I curtly answered.

The teacher showed me to the last seat in the classroom which was in the back. It worked out well because I was sat next to a girl who was too into her work to notice anyone else around her. I popped in my ear buds and sat back in my chair staring at my desk until I saw people getting up from their chairs and I did the same and headed to my next class which was chemistry.

As soon as I entered the class I saw Grayson's familiar eyes smiling at me. I ignored it and walked over to the teacher. I showed him my schedule to confirm that I was in his class and he pointed to my seat which was, of course, the empty seat next to Grayson. I sighed and walked over to the desk.

"Hello again." He said smiling up at me as I started to sit down.

"Oh god." I whispered to myself. It didn't really help to because he heard what I had said.

"Ow! harsh Charlotte." He replied grabbing at his chest.

"Ew, no please call me Charlie." I laughed.

"Oh she's nice, is she." He shit back widening his eyes.

"Okay, stop Grayson." I chuckled.

Before he could respond the bell rang and the teacher started to speak. I couldn't really focus because my heart was beating fast like I was nervous or something. I wasn't though. My plans started to sweat and I had the need to walk out of the class. Grayson had seen my leg shaking and he laid his hand on my knee. I looked at him in surprise and he gave me a comforting smile. My leg stopped shaking and I started to tap my pen.

"Are you ok Charlie?" Grayson whispered leaning toward me.

"Yeah, I'm fine I don't know I think it's just being in a new school. It'll be ok, I'm sure." I replied as the bell rang signaling for us that class was over.

"Come with me." He said yanking my arm as soon as I gathered my things.

"I can't be late to my next class!"

"Don't be silly it's break." He smiled as he yanked me out of the class.
