Alex's POV

I lead Chloe up the stairs, making sure he's careful as we climb the indoor mountain. When we reach the top of the stairs, we turn left to walk towards the only door at the end of the hall. I cover Chloe's eyes and I can feel his eye roll from here.

"Don't be rude." I tell him teasingly and he laughs in response as I lead him forward, opening the door with one hand before I lead him into the spacious room that's glowing with the natural afternoon light. I take a deep breath, a bit nervous at his reaction since I changed it from the original plan. I remove my hand from his eyes just as I whisper, "Open."

     His eyes flutter open as I step back and I watch with pride as his hand comes up to over his mouth as he gasps in awe. He walks over to the cribs, smiling softly at the yellow and green stuffies that Cora provided for us, his tiny feet sinking into the soft white carpet.

      His hands trace softly along the cribs with a soft smile on his face before he's turning around to head to the corner with a padded rocking chair. He sits in the chair, sighing in pleasure at the feeling of the cushion against his surely aching back. From his position in the corner, he's able to see the box already full of baby toys under the changing table.

     "You made all of this happen?" He asks me, tears clear in his eyes as he stops looking around to stare at me. "You did this all for us?" His voice is choked as he seems to look at me in a new light unnecessarily.

     I walk over to him and crouch down in front of his beautiful body with a warm smile. "Princess I would grab the moon and place it in your hand for you if I could. This is nothing." I tell him and he grabs my hands and presses them to my lips, not kissing them but holding them there in what seems like prayer as he closer his eyes.

    I don't disturb him, only watching his face as he cries until he opens his eyes and gives me a crooked smile that I love to see. "You're going to be the best father. I know you will." He tells me and I would be lying if I said the words don't make my chest puff out in pride.

    I help him out of the chair and point out and explain everything to him around the room. "This is the closet I had James and Thomas help me put together. It's separated into two sides but they mirror each other so we don't get anything mixed up." I tell him before I shows him how we put labels in the drawers to make it easier for us to get the babies ready.

     "Wait. Where did all these clothes come from?" Chloe asks me as he goes through the filled drawers and racks in the closet and I bring him with me tie the middle of the floor where we sit down together, knowing that this news is something that will shock him to his core.

      "All these clothes and some of the supplies was donated by the pack. Once I confronted David, word quickly spread that I had a Mate that was pregnant with twins. The day after, pack members old and young showed up with clothes, diapers, pacifiers and everything else I didn't know we needed. They wanted me to tell you that they don't agree with David and that they can't wait to welcome Ashley and Matty to the pack." I tell him softly and wipe off the trail of tears that fall down his cheek to kiss my palm.

    "Your pack did this... for me?" He asks and I can see in his eyes how much this means for him. As much as he was ready to go against the grain, it makes everything so much better to know that they accept him and the kids.

     "They did. And don't forget, Luxe Chloe, this is your pack too." I tell him with a wink and he laughs at me though I don't mind in the slightest. We continue to laugh and talk for an endless amount of time until I begin to notice a sad look that keep creeping into his eyes.

       "What's wrong, princess?" I ask worriedly, thinking he doesn't like something in the room as much as I thought but before I can overthink myself into a frenzy, he answers.

    "I just.... I miss Toby so much. I don't want him to be mad at me anymore." He says quietly and tears come to his eyes as he looks down at the rug, his fingers playing in the faux fur. Tobias takes notice curiously as the words leaves out Mate's mouth before he begins nudging at my mind to tell me that he wants to talk to Chloe making me smile.

      "Well, I wouldn't worry too much about that." I start and he looks up at me with confused tears eyes.

      "Why not?" He asks.

        "Because he wants to talk to you." I tell him  and he immediately perks up as he sniffles and rubs his eyes.

     "Really? Right now? He wants to talk to me?" He asks me, his voice hopeful and the sheer happiness threat radiates from his voice has Tobias pushing against our mental separation with that much more vigor.

      "Right now. Is that okay?" I ask him expecting an immediate yes but instead he begins to panic.

     "No! No it's not okay, I look a mess. Tell him we can schedule an appointment later or something." He says fretting over his bed hair but I can't help but laugh at his expression.

     "Princess, not to burst your bubble, but you remember that Tobias can see you through my eyes right?" I ask him and laugh once more as his face pales and heats up all at once.

      "Well then I guess right now is fine." He mumbles to his lap and I smile as I take a deep breath closing my eyes as I let Tobias push forward silently.

Tobias' POV

     I open my eyes and I'm immediately met with the glow of Chloe, his creamy skin cast a beautiful pale honey as the afternoon light shines on him and as much as my hands twitch to pull him closer to me, I refrain from doing so.

     "Tobias?" He says quietly but I remain silent as I watch him, though my eyes keep trying to touch down to the twins that I know will be here at any second. "Please say something." He begs but I don't know what to say.

      I don't know what to say to Chloe anyone except to apologize. So that's what I do.

     "I'm so sorry, pup." I tell him, my brows furrowed as I keep reliving that moment in the office over and over in my mind.

    "You're sorry? Why are you sorry?" He asks me his voice full of confusion as he ducks his head to catch my eyes and once that doesn't work, he uses his hand to lift my head so I have to choice but to meet his eyes when I answer.

      "I saw David leave the room after you. Alex was only half paying attention but I watched him follow you out the door. I thought something was wrong but since Alex didn't seem bothered I just ignored the feeling." I stress, a whine building in my throat at the shame that floods me. "I knew something was wrong and I..."

     Chloe cuts me off with a kiss making me frown and jump in confusion. "Toby, it's okay. I promise it's okay. No one can predict the future and sometimes things are meant to happen. I don't resent you or Alex for not following that man out the room. I needed that week away so I could heal." He tells me, his hands coming up to cup my fave lovingly but I pull away not being able to wrap my head around it.

     "No, Chloe but I did predict the future. I knew what was happening. How can you be so calm? How could you forgive me for letting you go through something like that again?" My voice is raising as I begin to panic my hands coming up to grip my hair. The cool cocky side of me buried in a dusty corner of my mind, not sure if I'll ever allow myself forgiveness for what I put my sweet amazing Chloe through.

       He removes my hands from my hair and places them on his stomach, holding them to him as he looks up at me with soft eyes before he speaks. "Do you feel those babies in there?" He asks me and I do, their kicks and tumbling in my baby's stomach enough to be felt. I nod my head at Chloe's question as I stare at his tummy in awe. "They are the reason that we do this life thing. Even if I blamed you for what happened, which I don't, our main priorities are these pups in my stomach, Toby. As long as you can promise yourself that you'll never let yourself turn your back on something that you know is wrong, then we'll be okay." He promises me.

     As much as I want to tell him he's wrong and deny his words, he's not and I can't. Ashley and Madison are the number one priority outside of Chloe. I can't change the past, so I'll make sure that the future that Alex and I build for all of us is as perfect as it can get, for no one else but ourselves.

      I pull Chloe into my arms and muzzle my face into his neck, inhaling his scent softly as I hold him. "I love you so much, pup. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." I tell him and the rest of the day so spent between him Alex and I as we prepare ourselves to be the best parents we can be.

~~~~~~
Toby is so fucking cute I love him. The room is so pretty to me and the pack coming together to show support almost made me cry. Guys this is getting down to like 3 chapters. This is crazy.
