Alex's POV

I lead Chloe away from the parking lot and towards the entrance of the fair, heart pounding from nerves. As much as I want Chloe to enjoy this I'm half convinced to just throw him in the car and go home. Today is going to change our relationship, whether it's because Chloe sees how much he's starting to mean to me or because I'm a complete idiot and say something to mess everything up. The pressure is on.

Walking up to the booth at the front of the amusement park, I tuck Chloe under my arm as I order us two arm bands. Once in hand, I waste no time in taking us through the baggage line to get checked out. After we're through the line, I retake Chloes hand and lead us to a group of picnic tables off to the right, making sure to grab a pamphlet on the way.

"This place is huge!" Chloe exclaims as we sit down, his face full of awe and excitement. I chuckle as I slide closer towards him and pull him into my side. Once he's there he instantly melts and the action makes my chest puff out in pride.

"It is." I concede. "Do you know where you would like to go first, pup?" I ask him opening the map of the park on the table. Chloe looks down on it, his face scrunched up in concentration. As he looks at the map, I see a couple people staring at him, some in disgust, seeing as we're on the human side of side, but most in lust.

For once, however I ignore it. After finally realizing all the shit Chloe goes through I understand that some days, he must hate the stares and whispers as much as I do. So instead of raising a fuss, I watch my beautiful princess as his hair tangles in the wind until he finally finds the spot.

"Here!" He says, voice raising in pitch for all the excitement in the air. I look down and see he's pointing at a swing ride that takes you into the air and spins.

I smile down at Chloe and nod. "Okay, pup, let's go." We waste no time in getting off the bench before following the map towards the ride Chloe picked out.

"Have you ever been on a rollercoaster, Alex?" He asks, looking around at all the rides, his hand tucked in the crook of my elbow  as I hold the map in concentration. I pause a second to think.

"I went a lot as kids and a couple times in high school but I don't think I've been since the twelfth grade." I admit, having us turn right in order to finally get to the line. I gesture towards the fast lane since we have bands, but Chloe being the sweet person he is, refuses.

"It's a short line it's okay." He says shaking his head with a smile. I smile back and place a kiss atop his head as the line inches forward. We're only standing for a couple of minutes when he speaks up again. "So why did you stop going to the park? It seems so fun here." He wonders aloud, turning around to face me as I answer.

I cringe a little and rub the back of my head shyly. "Well it started back in the twelfth grade because James' crazy ex girlfriend worked here and we didn't want to be bothered by her anymore. After that I guess I never really had the time." I start,trying my damn harder not to laugh at the straight shock that flies across Chloe's features.

     "Ex-girlfriend?! James had a ex? Cody's James? The one all cuddly and basically lives with his Mate in his lap?" This time I can't hold in my laugh at the disbelief in his expression.

     "Yup that's the one." I say as I move us forward in the line, which is going a lot faster than I had thought.

      "Did he have another Mate before Cody? I don't understand." He says a crease in his brows as he looks up at me.

     I grab his hand, loving how he so readily gives me contact, as I go to sate his curiosity. "A lot of werewolves don't believe in sex before Mating, but in high school, it's very common for unmated wolves to date platonically until they do find their Mate. James was with Jessica when he found Cody." I explain as we get closer to the ride.

     "So James cheated on Jessica?"

     "No, James broke up with her as soon as he figured out that Cody was going to be his Mate. Cody was two years younger than us, so James had been waiting two years, as soon as he saw him that day in the cafeteria, he just knew he was his, even before Cody's birthday."

     "That's so sweet, the fact that he knew, but I'm guessing the ex didn't like that?"

     I nod my head in agreement. "At all. She was a power hungry whore that was ready to do anything to take Cody's spot. But that's not my story to tell, I'm sure he'll be ready to tell you if you ask." He nods and gets quiet for a moment until a strange look crosses his face.

     "Did you ever have a relationship like that?" He asks, suddenly subdued.

     "Nah. I was raised old school. I wanted all of my firsts to be with my Mate whether I had to wait four years or ten." I tell him sincerely, squeezing his hand as we come up to the door entrance. The worker checks our bands and nods at us and we pass him, going to sit on swings that are beside each other, Chloe's excitement is back as he bounces lightly in his seat. I shake my head highly amused at my little pup. After the conductor comes around to check all of our seats, he starts the ride and in no time we're soaring above the park, swinging calmly as the afternoon air flows around our bodies. I look over at Chloe to check on him and all I can do is stare.

     The golden light of the afternoon sun is kissing Chloe shyly, his honey dirty blond hair glowing in the light as his pale cheeks sparkle in the sun. The way a smile is stretched across his lips and he how swings his legs, relishing the freedom and awe of being up so high from all your worries, has me starstruck.

     He's beautiful

After three hours at the park we finally leave when the growling in our stomachs are too much to ignore. Chloe is all smiles as he tells me his favorite parts of the day as the sun begins to lower in the sky. Today was fun, and as much as I love my wolf, I'm glad he agreed to leave us alone for the day to just spend this time together.

"And the way the water show sprayed water over the crowd was so cool!" Chloe finishes with a deep breath, one arm animated with his excitement and praise while the other is wrapped around a dinosaur I won him at one of the games.

We finally reach the car and I waste no time in opening up the door for my princess, and to my surprise he doesn't raise a fuss and instead blushes wildly as he leans up to plant a kiss on my cheek before sliding in the car. I feel my own cheeks heat up as I close his door and head around the car to mine. I slide into the seat and double check to make sure we're both secure before I take off to our next destination. We make small talk laughing and joking on the way, though the ride is quick, ending in ten minutes.

Before Chloe can even dare to touch his door I'm out and over onto his side opening it for him. I see surprise cross his features as he takes in the pizza place we're about to enter. I take him to the sidewalk and give him a soft hug from behind, my arms wrapped securely around him as I plant my head in his shoulder.

"This is the first time I ever saw your face. The first time I met the love of my life. The first day, in a while, that I felt joy. I know this place isn't exactly five star, but it'll always be special to me." I tell him is a whispered tone, tears gathering in my eyes at the thought that a little over two weeks ago I was coming here completely annoyed at the world to grab some pizza on my way back to the pack, peanut butter in hand. My whole life changed that day, and I would do it all over again in a heart beat.

I watch from the side of my eyes as Chloe gasps, his hand coming up to cover his mouth as tears form in him eyes. Before I can say anything, he's turning in my arms to hug me, his face buried in my chest as he takes deep long breaths and hugs me for dear life, but I dare not complain. Instead I hug him back, my head atop of his as I rub his back soothingly.

After a couple minutes he calms down, leaning away from me to look me in the eyes. I smile down at him admiring the way that even with wet dewey eyes, Chloe is the most beautiful thing in the world to me. "Thank you." He whispers, his voice thick as his lips wobble into a smile.

I kiss his forehead with a smile as I pull him towards the place we first met, making more memories as the sun goes down.
