-WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE FORBIDDEN APPLE?-

Thorn's POV

"Can I have this?" I said, pointing at the bouquet of red roses on the flower shop then the vendor turned to me and nodded his head as he handed me the flowers with a smile on his face. They're so beautiful.

"I'll have two." I informed as he handed me another one then I fished out the wallet on my pocket before paying it with the amount that he said and I thanked him.

"Come to think of it, I remember a while ago.. there's a girl who bought two bouquet of roses too and when I asked if it's for someone.. she said yes." The vendor said, looking up as if remembering the exact thing that happened, he added, "She's a very beautiful and kind woman in a white dress."

"You sure she's not a ghost?" I jokingly muttered as the vendor chuckled. "Oh I hope she's not." He said. I chuckled as well before turning to my heels and I bid my 'Goodbye' to the vendor.

Getting inside my car as I finished placing the flowers carefully on the front seat, I started the engine then went on my way.

The drive took an hour or two before I reached my destination but to my surprise there's already a car that's parked on the spot where I used to park mine whenever I visit here. I can't recognized that car.

Turning to another direction, I managed to found an empty spot as I parked my car there. I wonder who's the owner of that black car.

I opened the front seat and took out the two freshly picked bouquet of red roses. I sniffed it as the fragrance lingers in my nose while walking inside the cemetery. I'm here to visit my parents. I hope they aren't mad at me because it's been a long time since I came here.

My smile slowly dropped in surprised and shock when I saw the woman that's standing in front of my dad and Marissa's grave. What is she doing here? Of course she's here, Marissa is her mom anyways. My mind counters me. Damn, yeah..

I watched her as she stood silently while looking down at our parents grave, she seems not aware of my presence yet. I tried to peek a bit and I saw two bouquet of yellow roses, placed on their grave. She's wearing a long white dress that hugged her body so well and it defined her fine curve even more. It's funny that I almost have a heart attack a while ago, I thought she's some ghost or what. Her ass is popping like crazy. I want to feel them in my hands and tell her how soft and firm they are.

So she's the girl whose the vendor mentioned to me in the flower shop.

Shaking my head to remove the dirty thoughts that's running in my mind right now, in this cemetery. I cleared my throat trying to get her attention and I must say I succeeded because the moment she turned herself to me, her jaw dropped as she looked at me with widened eyes. Her green orbs are sparkling and shaking at the same time.

"T-Thorn?" She stammered as she quickly moved away a bit from me to give me a space to my parents grave. She stood silently on my side a bit far from me. She's holding her purse tightly in her hands as her eyes roamed around but me.

Giving her a smile, I then placed the roses on their grave as I stared at their names for a while. "Hey Marisa..hey dad, I hope you aren't mad at me for not visiting you both for too long, I have reasons so sorry..I hope you forgive me." I said while looking down at them sadly then smiled.

After heaving a deep sigh, I then turned and looked at the girl in white beside me.
"You visiting them too?" I asked even though it's obvious. I just needed to hear her voice again. I want her to talk to me, to look at me, to smile at me, to love me.

"Yeah.." she replied shortly as she looked at me with those striking green orbs of hers, she continued as she saw the look on my face, urging her to give me more information, "it's been a long time since I visited them so I did today."

"Hmm..I'm sure they're happy." I muttered without breaking away my gaze at her. She looked at me for a bit as she blinked her beautiful eyes then her lips slowly moved and formed a sweet smile that made my heart skipped a beat, again. "Yeah, I hope so." She said.

We were standing awkwardly in front of our parents grave. Damn, didn't expected this today.

"She's a nice person." All of a sudden, I found my voice. She looked at me confusedly as she asked, "Who?"

"Marissa. Your mother, she's a nice person. I know it's too late for me to realized that but I'm still gonna say this. She's a nice and a loving person Francine. She took care of my father and loved him so much without any price." I chuckled as I put my hands on my pockets before throwing my head back, as I look at the gloomy sky. I let out a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry about the things that I've said to the both of you. I'm wrong, I hope you forgive me Francine. I'm just..", I paused before inhaling deeply then continued again, "I'm just feeling sad.. I thought she's stealing my mother's spot. I'm so sorry." I said as I looked at her sincerely. She didn't said anything. Her eyes are staring deeply in my eyes as if it can see through my soul. Other than that, there's nothing anymore. I heard nothing from her.

"I envy them...to be honest." I mumbled as I looked up at the sky again. It seems like the sky is lonely too, like me. It's dark and gloomy. It looks like any moment it's ready to shed tears at me.

"W-why?" She finally whispered as I smiled with closed eyes. I really love the sound of her melodic voice.

"Because they can love each other without any restrictions and worry. They can have each other in their arms and show the world the love they have. They can shout it out loud without any worry or judgement from people. Marissa and my father can love each other freely." Opening my eyes, I looked at her as she bowed her head down, looking at the ground as I saw her shoulders shakes.

I gulped hard, "While me? I'm not like that.. I'm loving a girl that's pushing me away. Imagine, you finally found someone that you love and yet you can't have them because they think it's wrong.. people think it's wrong." I didn't know that I'm already clenching my fist hard.

"Thorn.." hearing her angelic voice brings heaven to me. She looked at me, tears filled her eyes as her lips quivers as the sky became gloomier than ever.

"I-I'm sor–" by pulling her hand to me, I cut her words as I pressed my forehead on hers. I hold her tightly onto my body as I closed my eyes then whispered, "Please.. don't say those words." I begged as her sobs grew louder. She's crying in my arms like a baby as I hushed her softly while brushing my fingers against her hair. Her hands are tightly clutched on my shirt as she cried in my chest, soaking the soft fabric that's covering my body.

"Believe me, if only I can teach my heart to love someone else. ..I will, if I'm making you cry like this. But, I can't.. I can't teach my heart to love someone else because I'd rather die than to love another woman." I whispered huskily in her ears, hurt and broken.

She remained silent while keeps on sobbing, she's crying so hard. "T-Thorn...what s-should I do.." she asked in between her cries as I rubbed her back soothingly, resting my chin on her head as I hugged her tightly and tenderly. I closed my eyes, "Just follow your heart."

"B-but..what about the others.." I pulled her away from me but to only cage her face in my palms, I looked at her green orbs deeply.

"Don't think about them.. just think what makes you happy, follow what you think is right." I swallowed hard.

I have to know if she really wants me or not. "Francine, tell me to stop and go away then I will...I'm gonna do it for real this time." She looked back at my eyes as I found myself leaning in closer to her face. Again. I want to taste and feel her lips against mine, again. Francine closed her eyes slowly as she moved towards me closer. I'm going to kiss her.

*Ringgggg*

We both jumped when her phone rang on her purse. She quickly back away from me as if I was a fire that'll burn her if she stays near me. I watched her as she tap her phone with trembling fingers while sniffling multiple times due to her cries a just a second ago.

After some time, she looked at me then wiped the traces of her tears on her face. She quickly bowed her head before mumbling, "I have to go." And before I can say any words she already moved and walked away from me like a bolt of lightning passing by.

I followed her until she reached her car and I went to mine as well. I watched her for a moment, wondering why she's not starting her engine yet and drive away. Letting out a heavy sigh, I went out my car then walked towards her as I knocked her window. She rolled it down as she looked at me with a nervous and panic expression.

"What happened?" I asked as she pouted her lips a bit in annoyance before looking inside her car. "It's not starting." She complained while frowning.

"Wait.. I'll check. Open the hood." I instructed her as she does it. Looking at the engine, I inspected it carefully and expertly. Not to brag but I know how to repair cars.

"I know the problem now." I spoked, smiling like an idiot at her. She glared at me before asking what's the problem of her car to me.

"Overheated babe. Do you have any water there?" I asked as she looked around inside of her car before reaching a bottle, which I presumed that is empty. "Oops." She said as I chuckled. She looks so adorable right now.

"It's fine, I think I have one in my car." I assured her as she stepped out of her car then followed me to mine. I opened my door then looked for the bottle of water that I bought a while ago at the store but to my dismay, it's already empty.. same as the bottle on her car. Okay, now what should we do? I can't just leave her here. If we call for a tow truck right now I'm sure it'll arrive here late. I know I said a while ago that I know how to repair a car but how can I repair her car when the water I need is not here? Damn.

"What should I do?..I need to go home now." She exclaimed frustratedly, running her long fingers against her silky hair as she huffed. I leaned on the side of my car as I watched her adorableness while smiling. I haven't seen her for like three days after that incident on the grocery store. I missed her so much.

Glaring at me, she pouted her lips again. "What? I'm figuring out a way here to get home and yet you're looking at me and smiling like an idiot." Francine rolled her eyes at me as she crossed her arms over her chest making her breast bigger. I gulped hard while staring at them. Fuck Thorn, pull yourself together. Help her!

Clearing my throat, I pushed myself up from my car then opened the front seat. She threw a confused look at me as I rolled my eyes before smirking at her, "I'm helping you. Now get in before I leave you here alone." Come princess and ride me. I mean ride with me. What the fuck brain!?

"No thanks, I don't need your help." She mumbled as she hugged herself then turned around from me, facing her back in my sight. She's being stubborn.

"Okay then." I shrugged then walked around my car to get inside as I reached the opened front seat door to closed it. I began to start my engine but she seems like she doesn't care at all. Damn, okay let's see if you're still gonna try to act brave my princess.

Rolling the window up on the front seat, I leaned in a bit as I look at her frowning expression.
"Uhm by the way Francine, just a reminder. Do be careful here because last time I came here I saw a big snake it was really horrifying. Especially, you can't see it easily because it blends in its surroundings so be careful.. who knows it's already crawling near you. Bye, gotta go." I rolled down the window again as I heard multiple knocks on it. I smirked at myself. Who knows my princess bought it haha.

"Yes?" Smirking at her smugly, she threw me a death glare before pulling my car door to open as she gets in, hurriedly.

"Oh? I thought you don't need my help?" I asked as I looked at her amusingly while I'm smirking deep inside me. She glared at me once again as she sink herself on the corner of her seat. "You're scaring me so what do you expect!?" She hissed as she tried to buckle her seat belt which seems like not cooperating with her. I chuckled while holding my tummy. I can't help it she's just too cute right now.

"Stop laughing at me!" She snarled at me.

"Here let me help you." I leaned in as I buckled her seat belt for her and I almost lost myself when I looked up at her face. She's too close to me. One more move and our lips will meet. Her eyes is staring deeply in my icy ones as I gulped hard. Suddenly, I felt thirsty and the only thing that can quench my thirst is her.

Starting to lean in more to capture her lips, she suddenly moved her head away from me as she whispered, "Thank you.. Thorn." I let out a sigh of disappointed then looked down. I nodded instead as I pulled myself away from her then took a grip on my steering wheel.

Out of the blue, her calm voice filled the air, "T-That thing on the cave.. it was just a mistake. We can't let that happen again." Even though she tried so hard to calm her voice, she still stammered.

A sad smile crept up to my lips as I stared at the endless road, my grip on the steering wheel became tighter as I felt my knuckles starting to gone numb so does my whole body. Why do I have to love someone that I can't have? Why can't I teach my heart to love someone else? Why her? Of all the girls that falls on their knees just to have me.. why did my heart choose her? Why the fuck she keeps on rejecting me?..

I clenched my jaw as I gritted my teeth, I looked at her for a second then brought my eyes back to the road again. I muttered, "I know."

I felt so heavy.. it's like billions of tiny needles poked deeply in my heart. So deep that I can't even breath. So deep that I almost thought I can't survive.

Heart... Why did you choose her?

Why did you choose the forbidden apple?..
