I stared at Lisa for a few seconds after she spoke before letting out a chuckle. She scoffed, leaning back into her chair, glancing around though she wasn't looking for anything.

"Okay, okay. Laugh all you want. I'll just go to Drakos myself then." She got up from her chair and I nodded, getting up as well.

"That's a great idea. I'll come." I grabbed my phone before walking around her to exit first. I could hear her hurried steps as we walked to Roman's office and when I reached his door, she pushed past me, opening it herself first.

"Drakos, we need to talk." She barked, not even caring for any pleasantries. Roman was sitting at his desk and glanced up when Lisa spoke. He pressed his lips together, but his brows raised when he spotted me behind her. I shut his door and rolled my eyes, showing him that he was in for a treat. His attention went back to Lisa when she slammed her hands on his desk in front of him. This woman literally had no chill.

"I just spoke with your little whore, and she doesn't seem to understand her role." Lisa hissed, making Roman lean back in his chair, crossing his large arms over his chest. I tried not to linger with my looks.

"And what is my role? Please, elaborate." I gestured to her, and she glanced at me with disgust on her face. I continued. "Is it to distract Roman so that you can have some fun with both Colton and my brother?" I tilted my head, feigning confusion. Her face turned red at my words.

"What, I-I have no idea what you're talking about. Don't try to deflect from the current situation." She turned back to Roman. "Get her in check and stop this foolishness. You know the plan that your father put in place for our future. It's time to get in line." She basically growled, making Roman clench his jaw. It was silent for a few seconds, and I stared at Roman, wondering what he was going to do. Tell her, I coaxed him in my mind, hoping he would finally set her straight. She needed to hear everything he felt about her in person. Everything he told me, he needed to tell her. He sighed, glancing at me for a brief second before turning his attention to Lisa. His eyes told me everything in that split second. A smile grew on my face.

"Listen, Lisa. I'm going to cut right to the chase. I'm done with you." He held up a hand to silence her when she started interrupting him. "I've become aware of your little affair with not just Mason, but Colton as well. Color me surprised that I didn't even suspect anything going on with the three of you, but nonetheless from here on out, we are no longer a thing." He leaned back into his chair, a look of triumph on his face. Lisa was frozen in place, unmoving as she stared at Roman with hatred in her eyes.

"You don't want to do this, Drakos." Her voice was low and lethal. Roman leaned forward, his expression matching the tone of her voice.

"I am going to tell the world that our relationship was fake. Nothing about it was real and it was orchestrated by our families. There was no infidelity involved because you have to be in an actual relationship for that to happen."

"If you do that, I promise you that you'll regret it." She hissed and Roman shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Do your worst, Lisa." He was nonchalant and that pissed Lisa off even more. She let out a frustrated yell before turning around quickly, only stopping for a split second to glare at me. She then stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind her. I let out a breath and turned to Roman who was leaning on his desk, fingers kneading his forehead.

"How do you feel?" I asked him softly, moving to stand next to him. I placed my hand on his shoulder and he sighed, leaning toward me, pressing his head into my body, right below my chest. The move surprised me a little, but I quickly recovered and weaved my fingers through his hair, stroking his scalp in soothing movements.

"Like hell is about to break loose. I didn't plan to tell her any of the in the way I did. I wanted to wait until we were both alone in a private place so that she didn't feel embarrassed. But the way she stormed in here and the way she spoke pissed me off and the words just came out. I feel like I've done more harm than good." He sounded stressed and I trailed my hand down the side of his face, making small circles at the base of his neck.

"I feel like everything is going to be fine now. What can she do? You're going to tell the media and if she does anything to retaliate, it'll only make her look bad, right?" I tried to reassure him, but he just sighed again, moving his head from my body and putting it in his hands.

"You don't know Lisa. She's ruthless and will find a way to bring me down for embarrassing her. I have to be on my toes now and make sure I'm always one step ahead of her."

I kept my hand on his shoulder and nodded even though he couldn't see me. I guess that made sense though I still didn't think he had anything to worry about. "Well, update me on anything that happens. Don't forget about the Carter situation, okay?" I reminded him and he lifted up his head, nodding.

"I won't. Come here." He raised his hand, placing his fingers under my chin and I leaned down, giving him what he wanted. It was a soft kiss, no real urgency, but that was okay. When we parted, I placed a kiss on his forehead before walking around his desk.

"I'll see you later." I gave him a small wave and left his office. I went straight to my office, shaking my head as I thought about what happened. Lisa was insane. She clearly thought that things would go her way by storming into Roman's office like that, but the total opposite happened. I was happy that he finally ended things with her and was trying to move on. I know Lisa could be petty at times, but I don't think she had it in her to actually do anything to Roman. And now that he knew that her, Mason, and Colton were trying to find ways to take over his company, he could properly defend himself and be on the lookout for anything suspicious pertaining to them. I sank into my chair, a smile on my face, I believe it was actually worth everything happening to be with Roman. Though we weren't exclusive by any means and still had some things to work out ourselves, at least we were able to finally figure out whatever this was between us without it looking like I was being a homewrecker. I never wanted to look like that and now everything was about to be cleared up by Roman. If everything went according to plan, today he would be denouncing Lisa and the media should turn positive for me. I continued my day with work, and it was actually pretty smooth and easy. I had nothing to stress or worry about. Carter was going to be taken care of, Lisa was already taken care of, and no one put a pile of work on my desk. This might end up being the best day of work I've ever had.

I wasn't sure how much time exactly had passed, even though I knew it was definitely hours, but I was busy calculating how much money we would need for a new promotion that was on my desk, when my door slammed open. I jumped, startled by the loud noise, but relaxed when I saw Roman standing in the doorway. I was about to speak, but then I noticed the look on his face. He was pissed. My brows scrunched as he stormed in, slamming the door shut.

"What's wrong? What happened?" I asked, getting up quickly and walking around my desk. It probably had to do with Lisa or his father, that was the only thing I could think of that would get him this riled up.

"You. I trusted you." He hissed, throwing me so off-guard I had to blink and gather my thoughts before responding. Me? What the hell.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, truly confused. I haven't spoken to anyone else besides him and Lisa all day, so I couldn't even figure out what he was talking about. His nostrils flared and he glanced over my shoulder before looking at me again. I could feel the anger radiating off of him and it worried me.

"Colton just finished holding a press conference where he said he's extremely happy about the acquisition we're planning to go through with. Something I only told you about and something the public was never supposed to know about." He was angry but was doing a great job with keeping himself calm. I raised a brow.

"What acquisition? I don't even know what you're talking about. I've never even spoken to Colton about anything dealing with business, ever." I walked forward to place my hand on his arm to reassure him, but he backed up, shaking his head.

"There was no other way for him to know. Remember the trip to New York and we met with someone named Samuel Redding? I told you not to say anything about it to anyone and you promised you wouldn't. Even to Colton. But here he is now with that information and now the board is threatening to kick me from my position as CEO because my actions violate my contract." He was raising his voice now and I was getting annoyed.

"I didn't say a word about Samuel Redding and whatever deal you were doing with him. You need to check with him and figure out if he told Colton or not because it wasn't me." I didn't want to keep going back and forth with him. My day was going well before this. Roman dragged a hand down his face and walked forward until he was directly in my face.

"I did ask him, and he doesn't even know who Colton is. That only leaves you. If I find out that you've been using me this entire time and you're actually working with Colton and your brother, you'll regret ever stepping foot in this building." He hissed, finger in my face. I was appalled. Why would he ever think that I would do something like that? My anger flared inside me, and my face matched his.

"So, you're willing to believe someone you barely know over me? Someone you actually want in your life? What the hell does that say about you? I told you I didn't tell Colton anything. Why don't you believe me?" I had to work on controlling my tone because all I wanted to do was yell at him.

"I've been fucked over so many times by so many people. It's hard to trust anyone. You're new to my life, and could've been a plant by your brother. Perfect distraction so that they could plot my demise. Very convenient. It's hard to know who to trust these days." He basically sneered and I was so shocked, I took a step back, trying to figure out what else was wrong for him to not actually believe me.

"Did someone tell you something for you not to believe me? What is it, hm? Because you were too happy earlier to bare your soul to me and now, you're acting like I'm a stranger."

He took a step closer to me, his face so close to mine I could feel his breath on my face. "Did you purposely plant yourself in my life just to play me? Did you plan my demise while I was inside of you, fucking you just the way you like? What about when you watched me fuck another woman in my office? Was it then when you decided you wanted to destroy my life, but get some action as well? Milk me dry, literally?" His voice was low and sultry despite his anger, and I hated myself for reacting the way I did, my body immediately heating up from his close proximity and low voice. But my anger was also there to help me snap out of it. I glared at him, leaning in so that my lips ghosted over his.

"You're disgusting. Get the fuck out of my office, now." I hissed, trying to ignore the way he was looking at my lips. I was beyond pissed at him for not believing me, for making me all hot and bothered with just his voice. A sly smirk grew on his face, and he straightened up to his full height, towering over me. He didn't move like I told him to and only stared me down with a pissed off look on his face. But there was also something else I could see in his eyes, the carnal want that made me discreetly cross my legs. I thought it was discreet at least, but I guess it wasn't because his heated gaze slid down my body, stopping at my legs before trailing up my body again, pausing at my lips before finally landing on my eyes. I was breathing heavier than normal, and I knew he could tell.

Fuck me.
