~Jaylen~

"Nasir I fucking saw y'all kissing. So don't fuckin tell me y'all wasnt." I allowed Nasir to explain to me what happened that night and so far I'm not convinced.

"Baby I'm telling you the truth. She kissed me and when you came out--"

"But you still kissed her the fuck back!" I yelled tears blurring my vision. "I didnt want to." He said and I rolled my eyes. I didn't believe him not one fucking bit.

~Nasir~

Nasir stood by himself with a beer bottle in his hands waiting for Jaylen. He drank from the bottle and slightly danced to the music. He was tipsy but not drunk.

"Hey Nas." Nicole waltzed up to him and he nodded his head towards her not interested in what she had to say or anything. She took his beer and drank it.

Nasir just ignored her and continued dancing. Nicole bit her lip trying to get his attention but Nasir wasn't paying her no mind at all.

"Jaylen been cheating on you with Carter." She smirked and Nasir clenched his fists. He knew Jay been trying to be friendly with Carter but he wouldnt think she'd cheat.

He said nothing to her and Nicole got frustrated. "I mean you saw the pictures and everything." Nasir slowly breathed in and out trying not to get angry.

"But who gives a fuck about her? It should be me and you Nasir." She spoke softly getting closer to him. "I think you should back the fuck up." Nasir told her and she rolled her eyes.

"You want me and you know it. Ditch Jay and that child thats not even yours." Nicole continued trying to gain his attention and make him not want Jaylen anymore.

She groped him, kissed his neck, everything she could think of. Then she just kissed him.

Nasir tensed up and just as he was about to push her Jaylen came out the house.
***********

"She don't fuckin belive me." I cried and Quan rolled his eyes. "I know yo ass is not fuckin crying." I rolled my eyes which were red and puffy. "Yes I am crying because I lost Jaylen. She won't believe me and I'm tellin her the truth. I love that girl."

Jhacari seeing how broken I was gave me a tissue. "Don't cry man. My sister has been getting hurt all her life. She won't forgive as easily as she used to." I nodded blowing my nose.

"This nigga really crying." Quan laughed. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Shut the fuck up bitch." I said and he laughed. "Whatever man."

I was at Jhacari's house telling him what went down with Jaylen. I really don't wanna lose her and I was telling the truth.

~Jaylen~

"Mama why daddy don't live here anymore?" I was in my room painting her nails since she asked. "Daddy made a bad choice." I mumbled and she furrowed her eyebrows.

"What he do?" I bit my bottom lip. Should I tell her? Shes only seven and ion wanna fuck up the perfect image she has of her father.

But she's growing up and ion want no nigga to do this to her and she stays because she ain't have an example.

I stopped and looked at her brown eyes. The eyes that so desperately looks like Nasir. The eyes I fell in love with.

"One day Uncle Jhacari had a party and Mama and daddy went. I had fun with them laughing and drinking adult juice." I took a deep breath.

"Then mama went outside and saw daddy and another Woman, Nicole, kissing. Mama was devastated and so she told daddy to leave."

I watched her face carefully analyzing each and every last feature. It was a long silence before she finally spoke. "So daddy betrayed your feelings?" She asked and I nodded.

"Why won't you forgive him? Everyone deserves a second chance." I smiled at her. "Its not that easy." I said and she frowned.

"Then explain to me. I want the teenager talk not the little girl talk." I laughed.

"Well--"

"Start from the very beginning." She said and I chuckled. I folded my legs and faced her. If I told her my life story, maybe she'll learn from my mistakes and make better choices.

"When mommy was a teenager she got bullied everyday because I was skinny. Back then, nobody liked you if you were skinny."

I told her the entire story and after I finished her face showed mixed emotions.

I saw anger and sadness. "I'm sorry mama." She said hugging me and I broke down. She rubbed my back and said soothing words in my ear.

After i calmed down she pulled away and wiped my tears with the pads of her thumbs. "Enough with the tears." She took my phone and showed me a tik tok.

When it was over she turned it off. "Explain because ion know what they talkin about." She frowned and I laughed pulling her into my lap.

"Its about girls in todays society. Us girls cant wear certain things." I said and she nodded. "Why?"

"Because if you wear something too revealing or wear makeup boys might take it the wrong way and try to make you do things you don't wanna do." I said and she nodded.

"What if you wear something that shows no skin?" She asked me.

I smiled at her and shrugged. "Never got the answer to that one." I chuckled and she nodded.

"Mama it shouldn't be like that. Girls should be able to wear what they want because it's our bodies." She said and I nodded agreeing with her.

I kissed her forehead.

"That's just todays society, baby."
