Cubs picks up the phone.

Jay: Cubs? Is that you?

Cubs: No, it's Santa.

Cubs: What do you want Jay? It's past midnight.

Jay: Cubs, Blake is in the hospital, you have to go there right away.

Cubs immediately sits up from his bed, now wide awake.

Cubs: What?

Jay: Yeah, he-

Cubs: WHICH HOSPITAL?!

After Jay told him the name of the hospital, Cubs threw on some clothes and sprinted out of his house. He grabs his bike and peddles as fast as he can. He didn't even bother locking his bike, pushing it to the grass as he sprints into the building. He runs up to a nurse, panting heavily.

Cubs: Ma'am, do you know where Blake is?

The nurse frowns.

Nurse: Do you know the patient's last name?

Cubs runs an anxious hand through his hair.

Cubs: I don't know, Dickhead maybe? He's a high school student, rather tall and really handsome, like one of those Calvin Klein models.

The nurse gasps.

Nurse: Oh, I see who you're talking about. He's on the second floor, room 169.

Nurse: But-

Cubs repeats the room number under his breath, thanking the lady before running up the flight of stairs. He enters the room without knocking and his eyes widen as he sees Blake lying on a bed, running to his side.

Cubs: Blake? Blake! Hey, dickhead, wake up!

No answer.

Cubs starts to desperately shake Blake.

Cubs: Hey, come on Blake, wake up, you can't die now!

He takes Blake's cold big hands and squeezes it in his.

Cubs: Blake, I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I didn't mean it when I told you to fuck off. I... I was just upset that you had a girlfriend, I don't know why, I just... It just pissed me off seeing you with another person. I-I-I'm sorry Blake, please don't die.

Tears start to well up in his eyes as he sniffles.

Cubs: I never meant to say mean things to you and I don't hate you. I actually really really like you, so please come back. I'll quite smoking, I'll stop swearing, I'll be nicer, I'll let you sit on the back of my bike and we can go walk in parks more often and bicker over stupid things like we always do. Blake?

But there was no answer. Cubs crouches to the ground, still holding Blakes hand as he breaks into more tears.

But his eyes widen as he feels someone tousle his hair, looking up in shock. Blake smiles at him, looking better and more alive than ever.

Blake: Well, if one trip to the hospital was enough for you to confess like that, then I should have done this a long time ago.

Cubs stiffens in horror.

Cubs: What? I thought you were dead?!

Blake laughs.

Blake: Now where did you get that idea?

Cubs pauses and realises that Jay never told him why Blake was at the hospital.

Cubs: But then why are you here?

Blake: My mom works here and I came over to help her move some equipment. She said that I could sleep in one of the rooms for the night and asked Jay to bring me a pair of clean clothes.

Cubs mouth drops wide open.

Cubs: S-S-So you mean to tell me that you aren't dying?!

Blake winks: I'm dying to kiss you right now.

Cubs lets go of Blake's hand but Blake quickly pulls towards him, wrapping his arms around Cubs.

Blake: Don't cry.

Cubs: I-I-I'm not crying!

Blake squeezes him gently, resting his chin on Cubs soft, fluffy hair.

Blake: I'd never leave you Cubby.

Cubs purses his lips but doesn't pull away, digging his face against Blake's chest in embarassement.

Cubs: Isn't your girlfriend going to get mad?

Blake: Oh, the girl you saw earlier? She was just a friend who helped me pick out a present.

Blakes pulls out a small box from his pocket and hands it to Cubs.

Blake: For you.

Cubs slowly sits up and stares at it before looking back towards Blake with pink, puffy eyes. Blake laughs at how cute Cubs looked and wipes his remaining tears away.

Blake: Come on, open it.

Cubs: Is it going to kill me?

Blake rolls his eyes.

Blake: No, you dummy.

Cubs hesitates but takes the box and slowly opens it. His eyes widen as he sees a beautiful silver ring on the inside, taking it out in shock.

Blake: Like it?

Cubs: Wait, this looks like it costs more than my life! You have to return this, I can't-

Blake: Well, I can't really return it since it has our names inside.

He shows the inside of the ring that had the word "Blubs".

Cubs: The fuck is Blubs?

Blake: Blake and Cubs mixed together, Blubs.

Cubs scowls and Blake laughs, taking the ring and putting it on Cubs ring finger.

Blake: And now we match.

Blake shows Cubs the same ring that he also wore on his ring finger.

Blake: So do you like it?

Cubs looks at the ring and then towards Blake, leaning in and wrapping his arms around Blake, more happy that he was safe and alive than the ring.

Cubs: Yeah, I really do.
