Selena still remained in her room, alone and comfortably snuggling into her pillows as her wax melt had engulfed her room entirely in its warming scent. It was her mother's recommendation, this particular scent of vanilla and bubblegum with unknown auroras she couldn't pick out but it was delicious. The room would agree if possible.

Luckily, her hangover was merely a memory and she was contently watching The Vampire Diaries after struggling to find something new to watch. Too many rewatches but not enough exploration into something new despite her watch list filled up.

In attempt to finally eat something somewhat nutritious, she decided to get changed into some loungewear, grey joggers and it's matching crop top with some ugg boots and made her way into the kitchen. Her attire made her feel an inch closer to normal, it was always the small things.

While her cupboards were empty and nothing really worth eating, she decided to make a basic salad. A bag already full of the greens she would need and some cucumber already sliced from the day before. She quickly cuts up a tomato and a lemon, tossing the tomato in a bowl with the rest of the vegetables. She squeezes half of the lemon onto the salad, along with some salt, cracked pepper, a small dose of mustard, some vinegar, some honey to balance out the strength of the vinegar, a dash of virgin olive oil and plenty of garlic powder. She also tossed in some of Faith's croutons for extra crunch. With a quick mix, the salad was ready and she contently sat down at the kitchen table and ate it in silence.

Though it wasn't silent for long. The door crashes on the other side of the corridor, followed by the sounds of her name being called in distress which ultimately leaves Selena in a slight shaken state from the unexpectedness.

She doesn't hesitate to get up to see what is going on and Faith instantly rushes into the kitchen, her eyes were reddened by the tears that stained her cheeks. Her once perfect demeanour has changed so suddenly that Selena froze for a second, inspecting the unknown damage.

"What happened? Are you okay?"

Faith doesn't listen, she instantly gets to her point. With a sudden breath as Selena spoke, she managed to speak in hushed tones, realising that her sudden burst could be an alarm to the one thing she feared. "Selena, I need you to trust me on something, okay? Pack a night bag."

"Wait what?" She questioned, confused. So she asked again. "Are you okay?"

"I cannot answer these questions, not here. Not now. We need to leave this second, okay? Please just do it."

"Why? What's going on? God, you are shaking." Selena couldn't help but ask those questions. After all, why wouldn't she? Her best friend was inconsolable as her body trembled and she couldn't stop looking through the kitchen door window as if something would be following her. Faith had never been this distraught and frightened. Her tough skin made it so. But it made these instances even more intensified because if she was showing this level of emotion and fear, this was something serious and something that couldn't be ignored.

"Just grab some clothes and any essentials you need for a few nights. I have my credit card if you can't find yours. I've got us a room at a hotel so we have a place to stay."

"Faith, I am not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on." She tried to usher her to the nearest seat, but Faith didn't take onboard the gesture whatsoever.

She looks defeated, yet frightened to death as her eyes couldn't remained in one direction, her head turning back to the door once more to the most minimal of sounds and then back to Selena, who was expressing subtle confusion and fear though it wasn't to the same degree.

She steps forward and grabs Selena by her forearm, keep close and managing strict eye contact. Selena stares at her friend, awaiting. "I found out something, something terrible. I know it's going to sound crazy but you have to trust me, okay? It will all makes sense once we are in the clear but I need to protect you first."

"What makes sense? Okay Faith you're really scaring me."

"It's about Jason."

"Jason?" She raises an eyebrow.

"Jason is not who he says he is." She looks at her best friend with a sympathetic look, knowing the news would crush her. "He is a wanted criminal." She blurts out to rip the bandage off as fast as she could which makes Selena step back from her grasp, even more confusion clouding over her as she laughs in shock.

"He's a what?"

"He's a criminal. I'm sorry this is the way things are but we need to leave and I'll explain it all at the hotel."

"No. Explain now."

"Selena, I-"

"You can not tell me my boyfriend is a wanted criminal and then just avoid it. No, I want to know now." She appeared angrier now.

"Jason isn't even his name, it's Jordan. But that's beside the point." She sighs but then continues to plead her case. "Listen to me, don't you find it weird how our friends dropped one by one. Think about it, we were all thriving last year, we barely had any legitimate drama and we were each other's support system. Whatever happened, it was premeditated. Char's addiction relapse, Lucy cheating and Liv's death? It was all an exit plan. He's doing everything he can to get close to you, so no one else can have you. He's done this before and nearly everyone died at his hand and I will not let that happen to us."

"Char was an addict and had an unfortunate relapse. Lucy was just a terrible person and Liv was just a girl who had too much going on that we didn't know about and felt like she had no other options. This isn't some conspiracy, Faith."

"Lena, I have proof."

She hands her every single article that compiled in her computers history out of her bag for extra measure, each photo and each horrific story. Selena reads it, her hand beginning to copy Faith's shakiness before she slams them all on the table. "That's a completely different guy, that doesn't even look like him. Jason's hair isn't dark."

"Lena these photos were a few years ago. He's on the run so of course he would change his name and his hair style. Even his name is different now to his birth name. Please we need to go far away from here and call the police."

"This is pathetic. Are you seriously that jealous of Jason and I that you had to fabricate some fucked up story to rid him out of my life? Is that what this is all about?" Selena has given up on what was going on, her mind was everywhere but as she saw Faith standing there, she saw red. Nothing made sense to her, nothing she was saying was the imprint of Jason, the guy who held her on the cold nights, the one that would leave tender kisses to cheer her up on her bad days, the one who made her smile and laugh over the most impersonal things. This wasn't the man she loved.

Faith doesn't respond, almost shocked that Selena was standing her ground against her. Selena did speak what was in her mind but usually tamer than Faith herself who had no filter, but this was different. Her eyes were glowing furiously and this time, her filter had suddenly malfunctioned. "You really think I would use our friends demons to break you two up? Look, my jealousy is beside the point." She pauses for a second, not even recognising she admitted a truth but moved past it. "I am being fucking serious, Jason is dangerous. I'm not a psychopath."

"No but you are pathetic, Faith. I never thought you'd stand so low, or at least not towards me."

"What? Selena, I-" Faith goes to grab her arm before she manages to escape the kitchen but she was met with a strong force.

"No!" She snatched her arm out of her contact. "Fuck you, Faith."

"Selena." She whimpered. "I'm trying to protect you."

Selena looks her up and down before making the final decision to close the kitchen door, and not look back at her friend who had forgotten the entire reason she was scared for a moment.

She went straight back into her room, locked the door and without hesitating, found herself feeling suffocated by the oxygen in her lungs. She couldn't think. She couldn't speak. She couldn't see clearly. She slid down the door until she sat uncomfortably on the floor, her hands lifting up and behind her head, trying to maintain deep breaths to calm herself down.

The door outside bangs, alerting that Faith had decided to leave and it was barely a few minutes since the altercation had happened.

Silence was the demon of the night again as the flat had only one vacancy. This didn't help at all, but Selena just held it together as much as possible.

Selena unlocks her door and finds herself lured back into the kitchen. She grabs herself a quick drink, a glass of water to help the sudden nausea and heat that was flushing her body. She finds the paper articles still on the countertop, Faith wanting her to keep them for good measure. So she picks them up and begins to read them again, this time more carefully, reading each horror that occurred.

But in an attempt to side with Faith, who after all was her best friend, she grabs every single piece of loose paper and crumples them and tosses them in the bin, not looking back at it as she goes back into her dorm with the water in hand and calls Jason on his mobile.

"Hey, I need you here. What time are you coming back?"
