Chapter 50: Attack

~~Minji's P.O.V.~~

Air

I need air.

I can't breathe...

I think I'm going to die..

"Oi Gon!! She can't breathe!!"

Gon pulled back and looked at my figure which is probably going to pass out if he didn't stop

He completely pulled out from the one-sided hug and scratched the back of his head with a silly smile "Gomen (Sorry) Minji! I just missed you so much!! Oh! And Killua and I have developed our new super abilities!! And! And!"

I tuned him out and just sat on the floor with a blank stare "I thought I was going to die..." while catching my breath

I regained my senses and felt 2 unfamiliar eyes staring at me and I immediately recognized them "Oh. Knuckle. And eto... Ah! Shoot!"

"Huh? How did you know us?" Shoot asked

"Eh? Ah! I heard from you!" I lied

Gon and Killua gave me a knowing look and I just giggled. They know I lied.

I raised a finger "Knuckle you're an earnest person. And your greatest weakness is kindness. I know about APR that can eat or give aura when you deal a blow to your target."

He got wide-eyed "What... How did you-"

"And also, you love animals. You're such a big softie~" I added

"S-SHUT UPPP!!" He retorted with pink dusting his cheek from embarrassment

Ikalgo was sitting on a box beside Killua and I leaned my back on Gon's shoulder that was sitting sideways "You may seem scary and hostile at look, but you are a good person inside. Afterall, if you're likable by animals, then you're a good hunter."

His previous embarrassment was now replaced by another shock.

This kid... He thought.

Gon and Killua just sweatdropped and thought of the same thing

Minji, there you go running your mouth again... They thought.

I noticed Ski crawling up to Killua's fluffy head and laid on it and heaved a very relaxed sigh "This is the best bed ever...."

Ikalgo observed Ski with a confused look and Killua just petted Ski with two fingers before paying attention back to what I was saying

Next I pointed to the person standing beside Knuckle "And you, Shoot."

She's not done yet??!? Gon and Killua thought.

I continued "You tend to avoid unnecessary risks and always distants yourself from danger. You also have a timid personality. And I also know about your ability of disembodied hands, making you free to manipulate them and some other stuffs." I halted myself from revealing his other two abilities

He just narrowed his eyes waiting for my next words

"You have this cage around you that you placed upon yourself. Your limits, your confidence, and that makes you distant yourself from danger. And that cage will be destroyed soon enough and you will be a better person." I stated honestly

The room was silent when I realized something "He's looking at me isn't he? Where's Meleoron? Is he using God's Accomplice in here?"

I suddenly heard someone exhaling deeply and regaining their breath. And there I saw Meleoron appear on the other side of Knuckle "How do you know us and our abilities?"

Meleoron. He has the ability 'God's Accomplice'. He is able to be invisible to the eye as long as he holds his breath. He can make other people invisible by simply touching them. Also make all the noise they make unheard. Cool.

I giggled childishly and placed a finger on my lips "That's a se-cre-t~"

"Are you perhaps a stalker?" Knuckle raised an eyebrow

"What? No! That's creepy what the heck?!" I ridiculed

"It doesn't sound good for a lady to curse." Shoot muttered calmly

I gasped dramatically and turned to Gon and covered his ears "You heard nothing Gon it's just a... uhh... I'm sorry you innocent bean..."

They just sweatdropped at me and I spaced out realizing that I just made a very terrible mistake

Oh gods. Gon heard me. Oh my god I have tainted his innocent brain I'm a very irresponsible person. Wait, I really tend to curse so he must've heard me once or twice right? So it means I have tainted his mind with the evil 'Fxck' a long time agooo??? NOOOOOOO

Killua facepalmed "She spaced out again."

Gon tried to calm me down and I just muttered words and words and well, words.

Killua grabbed my shoulders and turned me to him, making me snap back into reality "Listen Minji. We are going into battle. I trust that you don't space out during the fight. Every second is crucial."

My widened eyes sparked determination in them "I know."

I looked back at the unfamiliar allies and turned serious "I know all of your abilities and now, it's my turn to explain mine."

I started explaining and showed some moves and as always, they were shocked that I belong to two Nen categories simultaneously

I finished explaining as I noticed Gon staring at my back with mixed emotions

Pain.

Regret.

Sadness.

And doubt.

Why was he feeling these things?

Killua knew exactly why.

I finally decided to tend to him “Gon? What’s wrong?”

He then realized that he had been staring and quickly avoided the look “Oh sorry I just remembered something.”

I stayed silent which urged him to continue on speaking with a small smile “Remember that I told you in a letter that you have the same hair as someone?”

As soon as those words left his lips, there was this kind of tension in the room because all knew of the event that occurred several days before

Except for Ikalgo and Meleoron which are new recruits who just stood confused amidst feeling the building atmosphere in the room

“Minji.” Gon called and I replied with a hum

He looked down “You probably know what happened right?”

I bit my lip “Yes…”

He is one of Ging's student. I'm actually surprised that I haven't met him. He is also well-liked by animals. To think it happened to one of Gon's most respected people...

~~Flashback~~

~~Gon’s P.O.V.~~

“Huh? A Hunter License?” Killua and I stared at the License handed out to me

"It belongs to Ging-san.”

I looked at him with wide eyes as he continued speaking “Do you remember the last test Ging-san gave me?”

I nodded “To find him.”

He smiled as he placed the license on my hands “He told me to give that back to him after I find him. But I completely forgot that I had it.” He chuckled

“You’re going to find Ging-san right?”

I nodded and he replied “Then you have to do it. And return that to him for me would you?”

I held the card to my chest and nodded “But first, I need to finish this job with you and get stronger!”

Kite smiled genuinely and said

“I’m counting on you.”

“Run!”

Our eyebrows rose in confusion “Huh?”

What is he saying?

He turned to us with a troubled expression “Hurry up! Get out of here!”

Why?

He pushed us out “Get away from me!!”

Suddenly we felt a very swift gust of wind and before we could register what was happening….

Kite’s right arm flew to the sky.

Shock and sudden fear found its way to our veins as everything looked like in slow motion

Blood.

We finally noticed the Chimera Ant that was responsible for what just happened

We just stood in silence as I heard Kite’s arm fall to the ground behind us as my body tensed and felt anger

Killua and I looked back at the Chimera and it stared at us

We couldn’t move.

The enemy released an aura and it was the worst aura that we had ever encountered

Worse than Illumi's.

Worse than Hisoka's.

The stare was piercing through our bones as the Chimera Ant’s aura surrounded us making us clench our jaws and stand our ground

The enemy is strong.

Very strong...

I looked at Kite’s figure...

I look at his separated arm..

I’m trembling…

Of anger.

I screamed in fury as my own aura came out with a hostile intent

KITE!!

I suddenly got knocked out by Killua

Kite muttered these last words

“Take Gon and run.”

If Kite were alone, this would’ve not happened. Killua thought.

We were fools.

~~Minji’s P.O.V.~~

Gon quickly brightened up with determination "I swear I'll bring him back."

"No matter what."

~~Gon's P.O.V.~~

K-Kite...?

We are inside a room lit with only candles placed on shelves attached to the wall

Shoot managed to keep him under control but...

What.... Is this...?

There stood his unrecognizable form with stitches everywhere on his body

It's as if his body had been ripped to shreds and got stitched back together.

Like a puppet.

He won't speak.

He's hostile.

He's violent.

I widened my eyes as I processed the scene infront of me

I gulped "K-Kite?"

Growl.

Grumble.

"Is that you?"

Growl.

Grumble.

I bit my lip and scrunched my eyebrows

He's not himself right now.

I walked towards him only to be hit to the face also by himself, making me fall to the ground

"Oi Gon! It's not safe!"

I wiped my busted lip and stood up despite the protests of others

I walked towards him.

I stood back up.

The sequence repeated and I noticed that he was getting frustrated as time goes by

And hugged him.

All of his movement ceased by my action as I felt hot tears threatening to fall on my cheeks

I hugged him tighter "I'm sorry. It's my fault you're like this..."

Silence.

"I'm going to bring you back."

~~Minji's P.O.V.~~

"He's alive."

Everyone present in the room looked at me, shocked by my choice of words and I continued

"I promise."

Gon smiled at me and nodded determined "Mm!"

"Now that that's settled, we have a job to do" Shoot announced

Those who doesn't know what Shoot is talking about tilted his head

And so, we went.

I looked around in awe

The room is all white with black lines to make a tile pattern. So High-Tec!

I continued to look around in awe as the other's inside heaved out a relieved sigh

There was a corpse of an enemy on the floor and Ikalgo can posses and control corpses and it'll be a good deception to our other enemies. But man the odor was xss kicking, so I coated the corpse with my air, containing it's odor within my air boundary

I heard conversations like 'When do we get out?' And 'Will this really work?' Or 'Is Palm okay?'

Oh yeah. Palm. She lools really scary but she's an ally. She actually went to a date with Gon and he agreed! Can you imagine it? Anyways, she went undercover to the mission area earlier than us to gather information and set up some other things and then contact us 2 days before the mission starts. But she hasn't contacted us so Gon must've been worried...

Meleoron and Ikalgo are both Chimera Ants. But they believed and decided to fight for the good.

The plan was set and Meleoron suddenly asked out of the blue "Oh by the way, you haven't mentioned your name miss."

Seeing as I am the only female around, I turned around and pointed at myself questioning if they were talking about me and they nodded

I gulped

This is Hisoka's fault for tarnishing our last name.... Curse you evil clown!!

I smiled nervously "I-Is that so...? Well then my name is Minji Morrow."

Some gasped hearing my last name. I just smirked and bowed with an arm infront of me and another arm folded on my back

Killua and Ski facepalmed at the same time "Here she goes again..."

Knuckle narrowed his eyes

Hisoka... He thought.

"Hisoka." I stated

They rose their eyebrows in confusion

"I know you're thinking about him. Hisoka this, a murderer that, evil shxt (Sorry Gon), I don't care about any of that so don't think differently of me." I said seriously

"Because I'm not him." I glared a bit for cool effects

Knov-san then asked "What's your relation to him?"

I knew this would come

"My cousin."

Knov. He has an abiliy that can set up portals on any area he had personally been and the portals are connected to other portal/s or to this room. Awesome!!!

I rolled my eyes "Heck that fxcker (Sorry Gon), even thinks of me as his fruit now. I bet he wants to fight me for his 'own pleasure' damn bloody clown..."

They sweatdropped

She's trash talking her own relative..? They thought.

Knuckle is really wary of me which is unusual of him and it's making me worried...

And he decided to speak up "Since you know a lot about us and stuff for some reasons, I assume you would have some useful informations to share with us?"

Gon, Killua, Ski and I flinched at his words knowing my background

That's right. Minji knows the future. She knows this would happen. Her information could indeed be very useful but it'll probably pay a very big price... It's too risky... But also helpful... Killua thought.

Minji knows what will happen and she said that Kite is alive. Then there's no need to worry right...? Gon thought.

Meanwhile...

"That's what you get for running your mouth earlier brat! Thinking you're so cool and all! Back then even saying something cliché like 'I still haven't told you that I like you damn it!!' What an idiot..." Ski rambled

Though to others, it just looked like he was just pointing at me and squeaking

Me, being the only one who can understand Ski was red from what he reminded me of "T-That was..."

My eyes slowly darted to Killua and he stared back with a cute, confused face "What?"

He suddenly turned around and covered his own blushing face and stuttered "B-Baka!!"

There's definitely something going on between those two... They deadpanned.

Morel-san sighed "Come on Minji. Are you really the one Minako told me about?"

Oh right. Morel-san knows Mom.
