"Marco!"Carter yelled.

I sat on the bed getting into my position.

I heard Marco's footsteps as he bounded up the stairs.

"What do you want?"Marco asked after he unlocked the door.

"We just wanted to know when was dinner?Were pretty hungry"I replied.

Marco shrugged."I didn't make anything yet. "

Not what I was expecting but okay we can work with that.

"Oh well.Hey,is that a stain on your jeans there?"Carter asked.

"Really,where?"He looked down.

"Right there"I pointed.

"I dont see it."

"Let me help"I said,shaking my head.

Carter pretended to trip while I dusted off Marco's jeans.Marco turned to Carter as I slipped into his pocket and reached for the key.

Marco shook his head."Did you get it?"

I nodded,smiling.

"Oh and Marco, if you don't mind keeping the door open so I can throw up.I haven't been feeling good.The food isn't really doing too well for my stomach."Carter said.

I giggled in my head.

"I know what your doing and its not gonna work.I can get you a bucket but I'm not gonna leave the door open."Then he left.

Perfect.

I high-fived Carter.

Step 2
Turn off the power
-The key works for all the doors in the house.
-At night,go to bathroom

Behind the curtain is a little box

-blue=yay

-red=nay

"What does that mean?"I asked.

"We'll just have to see right. "He replied.

I nodded.I really hope nothing bad happens.

It was night time.Were not exactly sure what time it was but it was dark outside.So we opened the door,and tip toed our way to the bathroom.We used the key and opened it.

I turned on the switch.

"Do you see the fuse box anywhere?"I asked.

Carter checked behind the curtain and nodded.

I opened the box.It had blue and red wires going all over the place.

What the hell?I looked at the notebook.Blue=yay.Red=nay.Yay is good.Nay is bad.So blue wire is good wire.Red wire is bad wire.Now how do I use this information to figure out how to turn the power off.

"Just tie it like a shoelace."Carter shrugged.

"This is no time for jokes Carter."I rolled my eyes.I moved to wards the wire,touching the blue ones.I pulled at a blue wire.The light flickered.Hmm.Tie it like a shoelace.There were two blue wires and two red wires.I pulled the blue wires and tied them together.The light turned off.

We rushed down the hallway.Quietly of course heading to Marco's room.

Go to Marco Room
His door is always open
Check if he is sleeping.

We stayed low.I peeped my head in the door.The TV was off and I heard his light breathing.Yes he is asleep.

Make your way to the hallway closet
Electronics should be on the top shelf

Wow this person is so my favorite for leaving this.I reached the end of the hallway with Carter of course.The closet.I opened it.The door squeaked.Crap.I opened it slower.Less squeaking.Okay.Carter reached on the top shelf and felt around for the phones.But just as soon as we heard,footsteps.Oh fuck.Carter quickly grabbed a phone and we ran as quickly and quietly as we can back up the steps.

"Carter?Yasmin?"Marco called out.Shit shit shit shit.Carter opened the room door and we bolted in.Wait we forgot to switch back in the lights.Ugh.Fuck that.I locked the room door and we jumped into bed.

I hugged Carter.My heart was racing and I was scared.I just wanted to go home.I hope he doesn't catch us.

"Turn it on"I whispered.It was morning and Marco just woke us up for shower.

Carter was only able to pick up his phone in time.

"It only has 34%."He looked over at me."I can't believe this.We have to conserve the battery."

I took the phone from him and dialed my boss,George.

"Where the hell are you?"George yelled.

"I know.I can't talk for long but I'm stuck in some house with Carter.Remember Marco well yeah.He has us.Locked up here.I don't know where we are but please come get us.Need to go.Please help."I hung up the phone before he could answer.

I sighed.I used Carters phone and clicked on the GPS app.Unknown Location.Perfect.

Were gonna die.

"Yaz,don't freak out.We'll be fine.Come here."He embraced me in his built arms and I relaxed.He's good at that.Making me forget about all my problems.

"Thanks,Carter. "I smiled.

It was 6pm. Carter's phone rang.

"I know where you are.I can't come get you.But I'll help you get here."

"You mean you'll help us get back home?"I asked,whispering.

"Yes.of course.Okay,so how are you guys planning to get out safely?"

I shrugged but quickly answered realizing that he couldn't see me.

"Were not sure.And this phone is dying so Ill call you back when its a good time to leave.Bye George."

Carter remained silent the whole time I was on the phone.He's been distant lately ever since I found the book.It makes me wonder,why isn't he happy?

"You okay?"I asked him.He shook his head,obviously upset.

"Im gonna miss you,Yazmin."He whispered.

"What?Why?Are you moving?"My heart sank.

"No.Its just Im never gonna see you again once this whole thing is over."

"Yes you are.We could still be friends."I smiled.

"No.I cant.I have to forget about you.But its been fun."Carter replied looking down at his hands.

"What?Your not making any sense."

"I planned this.I planned everything."

What?

What does he mean by that?
