Its was six thirty and I was still staring at my closet. All I had was hoodies and yoga pants. Something about Ethan makes me want to try a little harder maybe if I put on a bracelet. I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself I turned to the left and I thought I had some chance of looking nice. I turned to the right and I could've been Harvey Dent's twin. I try to laugh it off but how can someone who looks like me show herself off and exude confidence. Being like this is hell and especially with a boy who has invaded my life and will drop me as soon as be sees how everyone will react to me. I wiped the tear from my eyes when I heard a knock on the door. Ethan was two hours early or maybe I was late. I looked through the peep hole to see a petite white woman with grey hair.

"Um Hello?"

"Hi I'm Melissa. Ethan sent me to help you get ready for your date tonight." Date? What the hell?

I grabbed my hoodie and slowly opened the door. She barged in and threw her bags on my dining room table.

"Alright let me see what I'm working with." I took a step back. And pulled my hood tighter around my face. "Come on sweetie. I already know, Ethan told me." She pulled my hands down to my side and pulled down my hood. Brace yourself Melanie Brace yourself.

"Oh Darling. You have nothing to worry about I've dealt with a woman who has a mole the size of Russia and I contoured and blended that for the Gods. Have a seat. I brought you a couple of sizes I can't really see your size under this god awful hoodie. Take off that hoodie and let me have a look at you." I took it off and only had a hoodie and leggings on.

"Girl you've got some knockers! People pay good money for those. You look like you're about a size ten. You pulled out a long emerald dress with a slit all the way up to the thigh." She grabbed my hand and sat my down. After about twenty minutes of analyzing and reapplying, she was done. I walked over to the mirror and realized I looked beautiful.

"I thought Ethan didn't want my scar to be covered."

"He doesn't. But he knew it would make you happy." So throw on the dress and set me see you. I zipped up the dress and it looked stunning.

"Well what do you think?"

"I think you are going to slay everyone today." We sat and talked a little more about her and watched some Scandal until the doorbell rang again.

"Well it's about that time. Give me a call."

"Thanks Melissa." She opened the door to reveal Ethan in a tux with his hair pulled back into a neat ponytail. He waved to Melissa and zeroed in on me.

"Beautiful."

"Yea. I know the dress looks super expensive. I'll have to pay Melissa back or something." He smiled and playfully rolled his eyes.

"Let's go before we're late."

"Where are we going?"

"That would ruin the surprise wouldn't it."

We sat in the limo in an awkward silence. I was so nervous where could we be going dressed like this. We stopped at a huge building. Ethan handed the guard two tickets and we entered a huge ballroom. All eyes where on us.

"Let's go Ethan please. I can't do this. What if they can see through the makeup?" I could feel my breathing pick up.

"Mel. They're probably staring because you look gorgeous." I shook my head dismissing the idea. We found our seats and were served dinner.

"So what's the occasion?" Everyone else was as elegantly dressed as we were.

"Just a stupid awards ceremony. You enjoying yourself?"

"Um yea. Just a little out of my comfort zone but I'm doing ok. Ethan. What made you talk to me?"

"I don't know really you just caught my eye. The girl always sitting in the back of the coffee shop on her own. Your mystery drew me in?"

"You've been watching me?" The creep alert went from five to at least and eight.

"Well actua-"

"Now introducing tonight's honoree Mr. Ethan James Archer." Ethan stood from his seat and walked up to the podium.

"Thank you all so much for this honor. When I was young all I could think about was being a doctor. Specialising in reconstructive surgery was my calling. Seeing the beauty in others even when they may not see it themselves. Again thank you and good night."

Ok takes a break from updating. Thanks for the amazing feedback y'all! I loved your suggestions and took every idea and tried making a plot with it the doctor one from DoriselysV stood out the most.
