Melanie's Point of View

After speaking with my last customer I grabbed my hoodie and made my way to Ethan's. As I made my way to his apartment three well dressed men were making their way out.

"Ethan, is this the girl we've heard so much about?" He nodded and wrapped his arm around my waist. "We've seen Ethan's plans for you. We're excited to see the results Melanie. Ethan we'll be expecting an answer by tomorrow. Nice meeting you!" The other men nodded and made their way to they expensive looking car.

"What was that about?" I asked while we made our way inside.

"Nothing important. Just some research." He said while shrugging his shoulders. His house always smelled so manly and clean at the same time. "So how can I help you today Melly?"

"You ask me that all the time. And its always the same."

"Oh yea it's because you like me?" He said with his face deathly close to mine.

"I have no why you're this close when you and I both know that night was a mistake. I'll make sure that won't happen again." He scoffed. And continued to close the distance between us. Before I knew it his lips were on my neck and we were both in a horizontal position. Before things got to hot and steamy his phone rang.

"I'm sorry. I've got to take this, I'll promise to make it up to you." He said while wiggling his eyebrows and smirking at me. He went to the other room and closed the door. I sat patiently for five minutes until my eyes began to wander around his apartment. Of course his walls were adorned with all of his accomplishments, not bare and boring like my walls. I stumbled into his kitchen that was piled upon his dining room table.

I had to have read that letter over a million times.

"Hey babe, sorry about that it was important." I hung my head and slowly handed him the letter.

"The deadline was yesterday Ethan. I hope you took it." I said smiling.

"I did. I took it yesterday." My eyes betrayed me and a single tear rolled down my cheek. "Why are you crying?"

"Why am I crying? You promised me things. Like happiness, commitment. And I can't tell you to stay because it's selfish. But everyone that I love leaves me. That's why I stay alone, I can't trust anyone. I hate this and I hate you for making me feel this way. But your leaving me for a better opportunity and I can't blame you for it. But why did you give me false hope, when you knew what you were going to do?" I ran my finger threw my hair and sat on his couch.

"Melly, I never made you false promises. I want to give your every part of me. I want to give you happiness, I want to give you commitment. And I love you too!" He said while chuckling.

"I don't understand how this is funny."

"It's hilarious, really." I grabbed my purse and made my way towards the door. If I could look like a fool, I do it at home with a snuggie, ice cream, Netflix and Tumblr.

"It's hilarious because you're so worked up. I want you to come with me."

Fucking Shit.
