Francy's p.o.v

I wiped the glass from the outside, getting the finger stains off, so people can see the pastries better.

Remi was enjoying her break, talking with Kai on the phone and making plans for this Saturday.

Which I didn't mind at all because I was planning on going to see Elric myself. I just hope this week will go by fast enough.

I focused my attention on wiping the glass spotlessly clean.

Remi got back inside the bakery, putting her phone away and coming behind the counter. A large smile was plastered on her face and she was humming while scrubbing her hands with soap, over the sink and then approaching me to help her put on gloves.

She put her hands up like she was a surgeon.

"Put your hands down, you're not in a medical drama," I told her, putting the gloves on.

Remi continued humming and then focused on making the pastries look nice in their designed rows.

"What's up with her?" Tim asked leaning over the counter.

"Love." I said and went back to cleaning. Kai was visiting again and she's been like that all morning.

"So um... when is Sole coming over here again?" Tim cleared his throat, looking down and scratching something off the surface of the counter.

"Um.." I struggled. "Soon..?" I said it a bit unsure and he caught that.

"I was hoping to see her today. Maybe you can call her and she can stop by for a short while. I just want to talk to her for a bit, get to know her."

"Um right yeah sure." I smiled.

Freaking mother of cookies.

"About that..Remi!!" I called her.

Remi snapped out of it and raised her head. "Huh?"

"Tim here is asking about Sole and her coming over here. Anything to add to that."

Remi blinked once and then got into her role. She approached him seriously. "Yeah Tim about that. The thing about Sole is that I don't think she..."

Catching on very quickly where this was going he waved his hands in front of Remi interrupting her. "I'll do anything. Please.. I wanna meet her. I'll do anything you need just let me meet her. I'll um.." He was thinking of things to say. "I'll let you take longer breaks.."

"Tim.." I sighed..

"I will help you with the house. If you need me to lift heavy things or umm I have a truck and I can help you carry things.."

"I don't think.." I started and then Remi hit my chest with her hand so I stop talking.

"I see.." Remi raised her finger at him. "Just a moment please, so I can discuss things with my partner."

She pulled me to the side and smiled. "This is perfect."

I shook my head. "But isn't this unfair towards Tim.."

"Oh please, the guy offered to help." Remi waved her hand. "This is what we were waiting for. Finally, we can get what we need for the house without going back and forward for things. You can get that giant mirrors you wanted for the bathrooms. We can even get some vintage things from the second-hand market. We'll stuff his truck with the things we need and we will let him help up with the greenhouse. We're already strapped for time. This is perfect."

"What about Sole?" I asked.

Remi smiled. "I have it figured out. Kai is coming over on Saturday. I already asked him to help out with the greenhouse and he said yes. I'll invite Sole over to meet Kai and help out and then you know.. I'll ask Tim to come. That way Tim can talk to Sole and I can control the situation and give Sole a way out if she needs it."

"And you're sure you can handle stuff alone while I'm gone to see Elric?" I asked suspiciously.

"I'm not alone. Kai's with me. He specializes in crushes. Didn't he win me over?" She grinded.

"Right, you and Kai, the love experts." God, help Sole and Tim. "You brought this on your own. Don't complain later." I tapped her shoulder.

Remi got back to Tim and smiled. "So here's the deal..."

Later that very day Mr. Silvan came out from the kitchen dusting his hands from the flour. He took one look through the window and scowled. "Ay, Ay, Ay... " He clicked the tip of his tongue over the teeth. "Look at this weather. It's going to be a mess."

Both Remi and I leaned over and peeked outside the windows. The weather seemed fine though. Sure, there wasn't any sun and there was a slight breeze but it didn't seem that bad.

"I don't think it's going to rain." I said.

"Didn't you hear on the news? A terrible storm is coming. It's gonna pour like crazy today. " He lifted his apron, wiping off his hands. "You girls should leave earlier today. I have to stay in the bakery so I can't drive you home. You best get home before the rain starts."

Upon his warning, Remi and I changed into our clothes and headed home.

I looked up at the sky. The clouds were all greyish, like dirty mop water, swirling in the sky, a storm was bound to happen sooner rather than later.

The wind started blowing strong, shaking the tree branches and making whistling noises and the leaves ruffled over each other. Even the tiniest of pebbles were rolling on the street from the strength of the wind.

Remi and I cycled back to the house as fast as we could.

The air was still hot but I could feel the wind whooshing away the head and bringing in a powerful rain.

Not long enough, I heard the playful sound of drops of water hitting the road. It was quick to fall onto my skin, trickling down my arm to my hand.

"Oh no.."

We were a few houses away, but the rain was picking up speed.

"Francy! The clothes!" Remi yelled.

We forgot the drying clothes.

We brought our bikes on the porch and ran inside, heading straight to the garden where we put the clothes to dry.

We ran back and forth to get them all to safety.

And as the rain became more intense, it began to soak the bottom of one of the floral dresses.

I grabbed the dress and shoved it into the pile with the rest of the clothes under my arm.

The grass was becoming wet and ticking my bare legs.

A loud thunder stroke in the sky.

I hurried back inside carrying the clothes. After seeing nothing was left on the wire, we closed the veranda door and Remi ran upstairs to close the windows.

And just as I took a breath of relief another thunder stroke in the sky, pouring the fastest strongest rain I've ever seen.

Not long after the storm had started and I had gotten some rest while folding the clothes, I started finding peace in the rain.

Remi called me for lunch. Seeing the intensity of the rain had dropped down, we opened the veranda door and sat down to eat on the dining room table, while a cold breeze entered the house.

"This is nice." Remi poured me a glass of iced tea with the meal.

"Thanks." I clinked my glass with hers and took a long refreshing sip. "Not sure how this goes with our lunch, but it was just what I needed," I said.

Remi had made natural tea from dried herbs and then poured it into glass bottles and cooled them in the fridge. It was the best thing to have in the morning or when you're vaping in the usual heat.

"I think the rain is going to stop soon." I glanced outside as the rain had mostly calmed down after pouring buckets.

Remi glanced outside as well. "You're right. But ugh.. I'm still so lazy. Hey... since I don't really feel like working.." Remi leaned her elbows on the table. " Wanna get some work done in the journal scrapbook thingy."

I nodded"I don't feel like working either. Let's do that."

Even when the rain stopped and the sun started peeking through the murky sky to set in its golden glory, Remi and I kept working on the journal.
