Francy's p.o.v

"Francy.." Remi nudged me again. I opened my eyes and saw the darkness in the room. "What time is it?"

"Five." Remi told me.

"Oh come on." I whined.

"We need to go to work earlier. Didn't we say we were going to help Tim bring everything out of the kitchen today? You know, make a good impression."

"Oh right.,." I had completely forgotten about it.

I had told Remi to set the alarm but now that I was up this early, the bed was comfy and my position was perfect, I was contemplating if I was really that altruistic.

"Tim can manage," I told her.

She pulled the covers off and pulled the curtains from the window. "Come on.." She sulked. "Get up."

Lazily I crawled out and then headed for the bathroom.

"Fine. But I'll complain the whole day."

An hour later, we were pushing our bikes towards the bakery. The sun had just climbed high up in the sky.

The town was empty except the ones who opened their stores really early. The rest are probably still sleeping.

As we approached the bakery, we passed by the fountain next to the coffee place Remi and I loved. And for the first time I saw a sight that confused me.

A gorgeous woman was sitting down by the fountain, with beautiful golden hair and long legs, barefoot upon the table. She was wearing shorts and a large white oversized shirt and was carelessly reading a newspaper.

"Oh my god." Remi stopped in her tracks. "She looks like a magazine cover."

"Tell me about it."

Nudging Remi to keep going, we parked our bikes by the side of the bakery and got inside.

"Good morning." We told Tim who was leaning on the counter pointlessly wiping one spot.

Then I saw him looking out of the window straight at the girl.

"Earth to Tim." I laughed but he was disconnected from the world.

"Someone has a crush." Remi approached him and he finally snapped out of it.

"No..no.."

"Yeah sure." I laughed. "Deny all you want."

"Who is she?" Remi asked.

Tim smiled and looked out the window. "A goddess."

"She's crazy, that's what she is. Pointlessly walking around every morning like that." Mr. Silvan walked out from the kitchen, hands covered in flour and bit on his chin. "Nice girl, but something not right in the head. "

Tim was still staring at her hopelessly.

Mr. Silvan shook his head with a smile on his face. He turned towards us. "You girls go and get dressed and help me bring out the pastries. I don't think Tim is capable of doing so."

"Aye." Remi saluted him and we went to get dressed.

After work, Remi and I needed to do some shopping for food and we decided to hit the open market. The weather was sunny and the market was abundant with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Remi had taken upon herself to bargain on every stall for a discount. I took out my phone and took a few snaps of the atmosphere. This was going to make a great addition to the journal.

"Oh no no..." I heard a cry out and brought my phone down to see where it was coming from.

I saw a really old lady running after a bunch of lemons who seemed to have rolled down from her market stall.

I ran after them to help her pick them up. Remi saw me and instantly ran over with the bags and dropped down to help.

"Oh thank you. Thank you so much." She staggered as she got up with the lemons in her lap and she winced at the pain in her back.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

"Yes, just old age." She smiled and took the lemons in a basket in the back.

Remi and I carried the rest.

"I'm sorry to ask this.." Remi cleared her throat. "But should you be working when you're hurting like this?"

She laughed out loud. "When you're my age it's more painful sitting at home doing nothing than selling lemons."

"But..." Remi sighed.

"I agree," I added. "You should be more careful with your health."

"If you're that worried you should help me out."

Remi and I looked at each other.

She waved her hand beckoning us to get closer. "Come to my house and help me pick some lemons. It's the going up and down the ladder when I'm picking them, which gives me the problem. Don't worry. I'll give you some lemons for free."

Lemons were really not a necessity and I wanted to help the old lady, but we were strapped for time and..

"We'll help you." Remi's tongue was faster than me. "We have some free time.." She turned towards me. "It's gonna be aesthetic right? We can take pictures and add it to the journal."

"Perfect. Come around nine tomorrow too .." She told us her address and then waved us goodbye.

After we were in distance i glared at her.

"Really Remi? It's not like we don't already have enough things to do."

She bit her lower lip nervously. "Sorry I got excited trying to help her."

"We are really strapped for time and you are adding one more distraction."

"I'm sorry." She brought her head down. "I did something unnecessary that could cost us the competition."

I felt bad considering I also wanted to help the old lady.

I sighed. "It's fine. I know you wanted to help. Look, we can go and help tomorrow and get something aesthetic out of it as you said. And we'll still win the competition. But from now on let's just focus on our work."

She smiled. "I promise."
