Francy's p.o.v

I waved my phone up and down, stretching my arm as high as I could.

"Just come here and help me out." Remi exhaled as she was trying to move the bed. "There is no network. Leave it alone."

I put my arm down. "But I haven't talked to Elric today. I wanna know how the competition went."

Remi started pushing the bed with her hip while huffing.

"Okay okay." I put my phone down and helped her move the bed to her desired place.

She dusted off her hands and smiled. "Look. Let's finish our work today, shower and then go out to town to see what is happening. Maybe have some fun. There you can call Lucy and I can call Kai. Did I tell you he wants to come here on Saturday?" She was all hyped up. "I can't wait to see him."

I pouted. "Lucky you."

She nudged me. "Come one cheer up. The faster we work the faster you'll get to see him. And you'll feel better after talking to him tonight. And if that doesn't cheer you up I'll buy you a full meal."

"Done." I smiled.

The little town was gorgeous even at dusk. People were walking around enjoying the summer breeze on the hot evening even with the sun gone.

I could feel the humidity in the air and the salty smell of the sea. It felt like I came on vacation by the seaside rather than to work. There were long stretching yellow lights all across the streets and there was smothered chatter noise as we strolled around sightseeing.

The stores that usually were open during the day including the market were all closed down and instead there was a different nightlife here. I could see a lot more young people walking around and having fun.

Remi and I came across this gorgeous park where people had sat down on the grass to watch a movie on a projector screen.

"Let's go there."

"Huh?" Remi asked in daze.

I turned around and saw she was looking at a stall of teddy bears and other toys and the boys that were throwing balls at the target to try to win something.

"That looks like fun. I want to win something." She tugged at me.

The guys there turned and checked us out.

Um let's not put ourselves in problems. I pushed her the other way. "We have to pay for that. Let's go watch the movie."

"Movie?" She turned towards the park and smiled. "Oh that's fun too. Let's go."

We bought two bottles of watermelon juice and sat down to watch the movie.

After the movie ended, we went to go and throw the empty bottles, my stomach grumbling really loud.

"Should we get some food?" Remi asked.

"Yes. I want food and I want to sit down and call Elric."

"Then let's go.." She caught my arm and started walking. "I saw this really cute and aesthetic resta.."

Suddenly the group of guys I saw before trying to win a toy, approached us. A guy went straight for Remi and gave her a teddy bear.

"Here."

The moment she had extended her arm to take it, they they ran off as fast as the light.

Remi and I looked at the bear.

"It's cute." I said. "I think that guy won it for you."

Remi laughed. "Yeah right. He probably didn't know what to do with it and gave it to the first passing girl."

I glanced at the bear. It was really cute. "Are you gonna keep it? " I asked.

"Should I keep it?" She stared at it.

I shrugged." Why not. It's only a toy. I mean it's for free and it's cute."

Remi smiled. "It is something I got for free. But what about Kai?"

"Has this bear ever done anything to him?" I poked the bear. "It's so plushy."

Remi put the bear under her elbow. "Well. I'll keep it for now."

I pulled her hand. "Now let's go eat. I'm starving."

After we sat down and ordered a meal I instantly grabbed my phone to call Elric. It was then when I saw the 10 missed calls.

Shi..

"Babe?." I said as soon as he picked up.

My heart was beating in anticipation to hear his voice.

"Heeey." His deep voice resonated on the other side of the line in a deep slow sound.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you today. I'm in town and finally got the time to call you. I just saw the missed call too. I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." He answered very calmly. "I know you're busy." He sighed. " You went through the same with me when I was busy."

"But I could call you right away." I sighed.

"I.." He started saying something when...

"Heeey." Remi talked on the phone.

I stood from the table to talk in private. "How was the competition? Did you win?"

"Of course. First place at that. We won so easily."

"It's you we're talking about."

"Well this time we have the gamer to thank. She was really fast in understanding how to win the game."

"I'm so happy for you." I smiled. My heart was at peace. They had won.

I waited for his usual chatty tone and teasing but there was none. Hm..

I cleared my throat. "So Remi said Kai might be visiting this weekend. Is there any way you can come visit too?"

He answered in a dry tone.. "I.. ah..I can't. I have to prepare for the next competition and have tons of work to do."

Ah.. the arrow of anticipated disappointment pierced my heart. Well, it was worth the shot.

"Then I will visit as soon as I can," I said. "I miss you and I wanna see you."

He was silent on the phone. I was waiting for the I miss you too but instead, i got.. "I went to check on the cats today. Momo misses you."

But do you miss me?

"I see. Thanks for seeing them. Did you and Momo have fun or you missed me too much? "

Come on.. Say it..

I waited. He was unusually quiet.

My brain was trying to figure out the reason.

He was either mad he couldn't reach me today or didn't want to tell me he missed me because it was too hard to be on the side that waits for the other side to be available.

"Elric, can you do me a favor?" I looked back at the table. Remi was still on the phone.

"Yes." Elric answered, a bit excited.

"Can you tell me you miss me?"

He was quiet again.

"I don't want you to pretend like you're fine when you're not and if you don't want to say it for your sake, do it for mine. I'm really lonely too and I want to hear it."

He took a deep breath and then he said everything that was weighing on his chest. " This is hard. I didn't expect this to be this hard but it is and it's only been a week and a half. I didn't feel like this when I was busy, cause I knew I can just drive to your house or call you and you'd pick up. But not being able to reach you is killing me and how can I allow myself to say anything without being unfair towards you."

I laughed through the pain. "I know right. But you can say you miss me. And that is awful that we can't see each other or talk on the phone anytime we want."

He laughed. "I miss you. This is awful. I said I'll be fine and I'm not and it's killing me. I want to see my girlfriend."

"I wanna see my boyfriend. What should I do?" I whined.

"Then next week. Since you can't this week, take the next Saturday off from your project and come here please. After that I'll plan around everything and come and see you."

"Okay, okay." I smiled. "I'll work really hard and come visit you next Saturday."

Somehow making that plan of seeing each other calmed down my heart.

"This makes me feel better for some reason." I chuckled.

"Me too." He added. "I can't wait to see you."

"Me too."

"Tell me what you got to do today." He asked excitedly.

And just like that things were back to normal.

I posted two chapters back to back, cause you'll have to wait a few days for the next ones. ❤ Thank you for always being so patient.

I'm trying to finish the story and then post all the chapters at once so that's why it's going slower than usual.
