Francy's p.o.v

By the time we had finished the deliveries, it was already getting really hot. I waved a hand in front of my face but I could feel drops of sweat forming at my forehead. Even the top of my head was hot to the touch.

The moment we got home Remi crashed on the couch while I ran to the bathroom to dip myself in cold water.

I was still tired from waking up too early, from cycling so much and the sun. But I couldn't deny I was having fun.

The window in the bathroom was open, letting in the breeze as I was showering. Ahh..

Wonderful.

After the refreshing shower, my skin was nice and cool and even walking through the rooms was breezy. Remi and I covered the windows everywhere so the less the sun got in, the cooler we'd remain inside considering there wasn't even a fan in the house.

I walked back down still with the towels on me and saw Remi was laying upside down waving her straw hat in front of her face.

"I made fruit salads and put them in the fridge. Can you bring them out?" She said.

"Sure."

Around the last houses we had gone to, the elderly were so nice they gave us some strawberries, berries and raspberries. I saw the bowls of fruits Remi prepared. She used some of the fruit we brought from home to make it richer.

I handed Remi the bowl. She finally twisted her body back to normal.

"What's on today's agenda?" I asked.

Remi reached for her tablet on which she had the notes on. "I just noted that we should finish all the basics in the house. So that means we have to see what's in the storage room."

Right..I forgot about that.

I got up and ran over to the cute yellow backpack I kept next to the dining room table. I opened it and pulled out the key for the room.

Let's see how crazy it was in there.

I unlocked it ready to be hit with a view of a giant mess instead...

"Aaaaaa." I screamed.

"What what? Is it a dead body?" Remi jumped from the couch and ran over.

"Oh my god!" She pushed me out of the way.

It was unbelievable.

Yes the giant mess was there as expected and specks of dust were present but what I did not expect to see was old floral dresses that were so so beautiful.

"They are lovely." Remi grabbed one off the shelf and twirled around with it. "I can't. They're just perfect."

"Little tweaks here and there we can wear them." I took one that was sky blue with pretty floral details, but it was a bit ripped at the bottom.

"I'm on it." Remi scooped all of them and carried them into the living room.

I followed her, helping her drag the dresses to the couch. "Remi, we don't have time for this today. We have to.."

"Oh relax. We have plenty of time. And come on. How pretty will this look in the journal presentation when we take pictures in it."

"I guess so." I took one of the dresses in my hands. "I want this one."

"And I want this one." She chose one as well.

Thank god we had different tastes.

***

Lucy's p.o.v

The neon lights were prominent even through the door. Ace and I followed Halo inside as she made her way to the signup computer. The place was a typical gamer hang out with chairs and laptops from one side of the room to the other, but people were moving stuff around in preparation for the competition.

Next to the signup computer stood a bulky guy, one of those bodyguard types, holding a glass square box in his hand. I couldn't tell what was in it.

"Which one is the gamer?" He asked.

"I am." Halo stepped forward.

"Name?"

"Halo." She answered and took a step closer. He opened the box and pulled out an external hard drive.

She took it, plugged it in the computer and then sat down as the program rolled.

She entered the required information.

"Hackers." He called us forward and we leaned over the computer to put our information in.

"Done." I told him.

He closed the program and took the hard drive. He now handed us tickets.

"What's this?" Halo asked.

"You'll need those as entry tickets for the first round in two days. After that, we'll give you personalized items we give to the gamers and the hackers based on your sign-up information."

"Got it.." Halo gave Ace and me a ticket.

We left the place in a daze.

"That was um.. Intense.." Ace said.

I broke into a laugh. "They take themselves way too seriously."

Halo laughed. "So true. Hey, let's go get coffee. I need to get to know you guys for this competition."

"Sure." Ace said.

Mmm I guess it's fine then.

While Halo was getting us coffee, I nudged Ace. "Don't tell her that we're in this competition looking for the hacker. I don't want strangers knowing about our plans."

Ace shrugged. "Sure. I don't see how she could spoil our plans if she does find out."

I glared at him.

"Okay. Okay." He stretched back in his seat.

Hallo came back and sat down opposite us.

Ace took a sip from the coffee and then let out a satisfactory sigh.

I pulled out my phone and sent a quick message to Francy. She might not see it today but I sent it just in case.

"Any news from Francy?" Ace asked.

"Nope. The network signal at the house comes and goes and we can't talk on the phone for more than five minutes." I answered.

"And Francy is.." Halo was biting her straw.

"Oh, she's my sister." Ace answered. "And, his girlfriend."

She glanced at me. "You have a girlfriend?"

I gave her a nod.

"Another hacker?" She asked raising her brow.

"No um.." I smiled. Francy, a hacker? She was way too cute for that.

"Gamer?" Halo asked impatiently.

Gamer? Well, she did play with me once, but somehow me helping her play with the console just turned into a whole make-out session..now that I think about it, I need a repeat of that.

"Lucy?" Halo interrupted my thoughts.

I smiled. "No not a gamer. She's more artistic."

"Oh." Halo relaxed and smiled. "I see." She took a sip of her coffee.

Hope you enjoyed that. I things are clearing up...maybe?? xD

There will be another Lucy p.o.v in the next chapter as well.  Due to personal reasons, the next chapter will be posted on Sunday.  22nd of August.
