Francy's p.o.v

Few hours later, the sun had set and Remi and I had done most of the important cleaning. We were too excited to sleep and on a roll to begin the transformation of the house.

I ran the washing machine with all the things that we were planning on packing away for storage and joined Remi in the dining room.

She was drawing out ideas for the kitchen, completely in a daze in her notes.

I sat down next to her and sighed. "I'm hungry. Let's eat."

She didn't hear me. "Hey..." I poked her. "Let's eat."

"Huh.." She finally woke up. " Oh yeah...let's eat."

Remi was mostly stuck in the kitchen all day but it was thoroughly cleaned, fridge and all, and we could pack the food we bought inside.

We made some sandwiches and got back into the dining room.

Mmmmmmm food. Finally. The sandwich tasted better than any sandwich on earth. Remi was back to sketching in her notes.

I pulled out my phone to call Elric.. Oh.. what's this..

I raised my phone left and right..

"Hey do you have a signal?"

"Nope." She answered and took a bite of her sandwich, not taking one second away from her notes.

"You didn't even check."

She shook her head trying not to talk with her mouth food. "I tried calling an hour ago. Even 4g is useless."

"Ahh.." I sighed. Dad didn't say anything about this? "We had a normal signal this morning."

"It comes and goes." Remi answered. "Don't worry. You'll call Elric tomorrow."

I guess.. I finished my sandwich and took the plate back to the kitchen. When I got back Remi hadn't even moved.

"Okay, I have to see what you're doing."

I stood over her to take a look and I gasped. "Eeeh..Remi, this is incredible."

"Thank you." She grinned.

She had sketched her ideas for the kitchen and added notes here and there of her ideas. The bleak kitchen was going to look incredible.

"Is this the theme for the kitchen you're going with?" I asked.

"Yes." Remi answered and pulled the other chair next to her so I could sit.

"This is the general idea. I'll have to work my way around some things, but I definitely know what I want to do with it." She looked at the table, rustled some of the papers and pulled out another one. "This is what I'm planning on doing with the bedroom."

"Ohh I like this detail right here.." I pointed at the paper.

"What are you planning on doing with the bedroom?" She asked.

"I'm going to strip those wallpapers, repaint everything and go with something summery. The bathroom is going to be kind of Parisian white."

"It will fit with the summer tone of the other rooms." Remi pointed out. "I mean just looking at the ideas we have we did go for that summary theme even though our styles are different. I think it will look great."

"Let's go to town tomorrow. We can sightsee and buy everything we need." I suggested.

"Yes. For sure. I want to start buying everything we need."

"Should we go to bed earlier and get up early tomorrow before it gets too hot?"

"Absolutely."

We wrapped everything up and went to bedroom number one. We had decided to share a room until everything was cleaned up.

***

I woke up with a high-pitched buzzing sound around my ear.

Ugh.

I waved my hand in the dark and waved around to chase the stupid mosquito away.

The buzzing stopped. I started drifting in my sleep again when I heard it again. I started waving my hand again.

Suddenly I heard a slap in the dark. Remi pulled her hand out from underneath the cover and scratched her leg.

I tried to chase positions and fall asleep again but there it was again the buzzing.

My arm started itching..

Did it just bite me?

Remi and I tugged the covers off at the same time.

"Damn mosquitoes."

I reached for my phone as it was pitch dark and the screen of the phone blinded me.

"Ugh.. It's 3 am.. " I complained.

"I wanna sleep." Remi wiggled annoyed. She took her phone as well and turned on the flash. " Just look at my legs. These bloodsuckers had a whole feast."

The buzzing came around again.

"Aaaargh!!" I got up and turned on the lights.

I saw at least three of them. "You have to be kidding me."

Remi raised her hands and slapped. "Got one. Ew.ewe..ew... My own blood." Remi ran to the bathroom.

I immediately closed the open window and grabbed one of the notebooks I had next to my bed.

I was gonna kill them all.

Remi walked right back in as I smacked one on the wall. "YES! Okay. That's good. Let's hunt them down and go back to sleep."

We were patrolling for ten minutes until we were sure we killed the third one.

"Finally." I got back under the covers.

Remi turned off the lights and ran back onto the bed. "Ahh dreams, here I come."

Just as we got quiet and started falling asleep there was another bzz..

We both screamed annoyed.

I got up , turned on the lights and tried to spot the little vulture.

"There!" Remi pointed and we both ran for it to kill it but it was just too fast, hopping from wall to wall up and down.

We both jumped after it. After some time real sweat started forming over my lips like a mustache.

Remi was no better either. "I'm dying. I can't. Why is it this hot?" Remi waved her hand on her face and then saw the closed window. "Francy, are you trying to kill us? The fucking window is closed." She headed towards it. "Let some breeze..."

"No!" I screamed but it was too late. The moment she opened it a giant mosquito eater got in.. Those that look like mosquitoes but just aimlessly flew around with those huge legs..

"Aaaaaaaa." She screamed, closing the window and running away.

"It's in! It's in." She grabbed my hand.

I stomped in panic. "I know I see it. I closed the window for a reason."

The giant mosquito suddenly flew from the light towards us.

"AaaaAaAaaAaa" We screamed and leaped over the bed to the other side of the room.

"It's disgusting. I can't." I shivered from head to toe. "You let it in, you kill it."

Remi looked at the slipper who was at the other side of the room. "The slipper it's too far away."

The thingy flew around and sat on the wall exactly where the slippers were.

"Remi this is a sign. Go, kill it."

"I don't wanna." She begged. "Why don't we wait so it can eat the little mosquito and then.."

"I want it dead." I told her. "Do you want me to die instead? I get a panic attack just seeing it."

She took a deep breath and summoned her courage. "Okay. Okay. I'll protect you. Don't worry."

She carefully and gently tiptoed towards it and leaned slightly forward to get the slipper. The moment she leaned down, her shadow on the wall moved and the little shit started flying again.

"Retreat. Retreat." I yelled.

Remi instantly ran back to me without being able to take her slipper. The thingy just flew up and down the wall and then stood there again.

"We need a plan b." Remi said. "I can't take the slippers. She looked at my notebook on the bed. "I have to kill it with this." She picked it up.

I reached for it. "Noo.. it's one thing to kill the small ones with it, and it's another thing to kill these ones. Like I have to take off the cover and burn it."

"We only have one chance." Remi Pushed my hand down and tapped my shoulder. "We must take it down no matter what."

Before I could come up with a comeback she lunged forwards. "Spartaaaaa."

As she got near the wall it started flying so Remi did one big jump and slammed the notebook on the wall. She pressed it and turned it until she was sure she had killed it.

I realized I was holding my breath all the while. I exhaled. It was finally over.

Taking the covers off the notebook Remi left the room and then came back smiling. "It's done."

She gave me back the notebook without the cover. Yep.. it's fine. Sacrifices have to be made for the greater good.

We both sat down on the bed waiting for the last mosquito to show up out of nowhere.

Suddenly I saw it trying to land on Remi's leg.

She raised her hand..

Wait for it...

Wait for it.........

SMACK.

She killed it.

Ugh I hate mosquitos.
