We all take our seats as the honour student gives the  speech.

Sarah sits next to me and Edward sits on my other side, followed by Jake and Zac.

When the speech is finish, whistles and claps were heard everywhere.

My dad and Sam is seated somewhere else on the other rows of chairs.

"You going to speak to Zac today?" Sarah asks.

"Yeah," I mumble.

Even though I have absoultly no idea what I'm supposed to say, I'm going to try.

A few minutes later we're all throwing our caps into the air and enveloping one another into a hug.

"We did it guys!" Sarah sqeuls with a hugs smile on her face.

We make our ways to our parent's cars, but before I make my way to my dad's car, I run after Zac.

"Zac!" I shout, seeing his dark hair in the distance.

His head snaps towards me, but no emotion is visible.

He completely turns around and waits patiently for me to approach him.

Once I stand in front of him I sigh.

"You're just going to leave?" I ask.

"Yes, I'm leaving the state the first week of summer vacation," he says

"I thought we were at least going to be honest with one another," I say softly.

"Then what?"

"I leave after beiging honest with you and the chances of us seeing one another again during collage is minimum, we're bound to loose contact and never talk again," he adds humorlessly.

"You don't know that," I say, anger building up.

"Yes I do, I have zero friends left after I left my other school," he states.

"But you've got us now," I say.

"You've got me," I whisper.

"For how long? A year?" He frowns.

"It's like you want to just pack up, leave and disappear," I snap.

"Maybe I do," he says through gritted teeth.

"I just thought our friendship meant at least something to you," I say.

"You're the one that keeps trying to pry into my personal life," he snaps.

"What else was I supposed to do, you came to my doorstep looking like you were about to die," I reply.

"What would you have preferred, me to just fix your face and leave you for it to possibly happen again," I pause.

"How a I supposed to help you if I don't know what's going on?" I ask, raising my voice.

"You can't do shit!" He spits his words out like they're venom.

"Then at least tell me what's going on," I say, feeling the tears rising.

I haven't cried in a long time, but the fear of losing Zac is triggering them to fall.

"You know what, Emma?" He asks.

"I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't understand," he says.

"How could you possibly know that."

"I don't want to drag you into my shit," he sighs, his face softening for a split second before returning to an emotionless one.

"You already did that night when you showed up at my doorstep."

"Your house what the closets and I couldn't go home," he says.

"Is what you're doing really that bad?" I ask.

He stays silent and my eyes flicker between his orbs.

"Just tell me what the hell is going on," I snap.

"Emma," he says my name as if it's poison.

"Stop, prying!" he shouts

I take a step back.

When he sees my lips part and my eyes wide, his expression soften.

Like a child that has been scolded at for breaking something.

"I'm sorry," I hear him whisper.

My gaze drops to the ground, no emotion on my face whatsoever.

When I feel his hand brush my arm, I move away.

I look up, but my gaze doesn't meet his face, instead I turn around and walk.

It felt as if I failed.

Failed for being enough for him, failed for not minding my bussiness and most of all

Failed for falling in love with him
