Clayton's POV

"You live here?" Were the first words that tumbled from my mouth when I saw the complex that Jessica called 'home'.

"Yeah, I know it's not much, but it's all I-my family could afford." She offered and led us up the steps and unlocked the door.

When I walked in I half expected a messy, dirty, and smelly apartment. But when I strolled in the room I was pleasantly suprised.

There was a small black couch on top of the dark wood flooring, a white rug was placed in front of it and a small wooden coffee table with some books stacked neatly on it was on top of it.

The walls were a pastel yellow and had some posters of different pieces of art pinned to it. The kitchen was clean and bright, a small herb garden was on the window sill above the sink and all the appliances were a sleek black.

There was a small wooden table with white stands and four chairs place neatly around it that were all different styles and colors. In the center was a vase of flowers and a basket of different pastries.

There was a small washer and dryer stacked on top of each other in the next room and a small ironing board next to it with a stack of clothes neatly folded on top of it.

Then, there was on bedroom that's door was slightly cracked open, I decided to take a peek inside. It had clean white walls with music posters pasted to the wall and a neatly made bed that had white sheets.

On either side of the bed were medium brown bookcases that went up to the ceiling that were filled with hundreds of books.

In between the cases were to strings of bulb lights that were lit and they set a light gold glow to the room. On the side walls were medium sized windows with a planter filled with bright flowers.

"Guys?" a voice called from down the hall.

I quickly shut the door and walked down the corridor and met her and the other guys at the end.

"Hey, how long are you guys planning on staying?" she asked and quirked up an eyebrow.

"Uh, well, we actually were wondering if we could stay the night, make sure that the guys don't come back." Easton akwardly suggested.

"Oh, um, sure." She said and went to a closet, coming out with an arm full of blankets and pillows.

"Um, one of you can sleep on the couch and I have a blow up mat-" she began but Elliot's cries cut her off mid sentence.

"I'll take care of him." I told her, she looked at me for a moment, like she was studying me.

"Um, okay, I'll get out the blow up mattress." She told us and went back in the closet.

I followed the sound of Elliot's whines and it led me to a white door, slightly cracked open.

I nudged the door open and looked in the room.

There was light blue walls with a few shelves filled with kid books were hung. There was a small sofa, a crib, and a changing table along the walls.

I walked over to the crib and gently picked up Elliot.

I cradled his small crying frame in my arms and he soon fell back asleep, making tiny snoring sounds.

I set him back in the crib and went back out to the living room.

I was amused to see the guys sitting on the mattress with Jessica in between them watching an episode of Bob's Burgers on Netflix.

They sang along with the characters on the screen and laughed.

"What are you guys doin?" I asked while smirking.

The guys ignored me but Jessica motioned for me to sit down without looking away from the screen.

After a bunch of episodes, Jessica headed off to bed, sadly taking her MacBook with her.

"Okay guys, we really have to talk." Austin's playful tone turned serious as soon as Jessica's door closed.

"I know, R went to far this time." I added and we positioned ourselves in a circle.

"We can't give him the territory." Easton deadpanned.

"I know, but we can't give him any money either, but if he keeps pulling stunts like this we might not have a choice." I told them and they nodded.

"Are we gonna have to start a war?" Austin questioned and I thought about it for a moment.

"We have more me but they have more weapons." Easton explained.

"We can get more grenades, C4, guns, and ammo, but we need time." I informed them.

"Well, we have time, but R knows about those two." Austin said, sounding concerned and motioned to the hall with Jessica's and Elliot's rooms.

"We need to protect them." he added.

"She seems able to do that herself." Easton mutters and Austin's brows furrowed. "Yeah, how'd she do that?"

Easton shrugged. "Maybe her parents make her take a bunch of like, self defense classes."

"Yeah, where are her parents?" I added.

"Jessica told me they're away on some buisness trip for a few weeks. But we need to get those two some protection." Austin said.

I nodded and we discussed the arrangements for their protection.

"Hey, I'm gonna go see what she has here for food." Easton said and got up from the mattress.

After we discussed the final arrangements Easton calls us to the kitchen.

"Dude, look." He said and opened the fridged, which was comepletely empty except for a re-usable water bottle.

We flung open the pantry which was almost empty except for a box of toddler food, a small jar of peanut butter, and a basket of apples.

We searched the cupboards but didn't find a speck of food, just some plates and silverware.

"I checked the trash, no food containers." Austin said and I ran my hands through my hair.

"We can fix that."

Jessica's POV

That morning I awoke to a familiar smell that hasn't travelled up my nose in a really long while.

Bacon.

I almost went straight out the door but realized the guys were here and that I was just in nike pros and a sports bra. I threw on an over sized shirt and some sweat pants and headed out the door.

I followed the scent and it lead me to my kitchen with a scene I thought I would never see.

Easton was sitting at my table reading the sports section of the newspaper, Austin was frying some bacon, and Clayton was flipping pancakes.

"What's all this?" I asked, I was so confused on how all of this food got here.

"We went on a little shopping spree." Clayton said, then nodded in the direction of the fridge and I eyed him skeptically.

I swung open the fridge door and my jaw fell open.

There was several cartons of juice and a few different kinds of milk in the side of the fridge, fruit filled one of the bottom drawers, and vegetables filled the other, there was a bunch of deli meats on my top shelf and some spreads and cheeses next to them. In the middle shelf was a couple loaves of bread and bagels.

I swung the freezer door open and saw it was filled with four cartons of various ice creams, stacks of cold cuts, bags of bacon, frozen waffles, a few loaves of french bread, and some frozen veggies.

I ran to the pantry and opened the door, there was flour, sugar, snacks, chips, crackers, cookies, salt, a bunch of different spices, some more bread, like six cereal boxes, and loads of toddler food and snack lined the shelves.

I threw my hand over my mouth and gasped.

"Oh my gosh, thank you so much, but I don't know how I could pay you back." I said to the boys and they just smiled.

"You don't have to, just let us stay here for a little while." Easton said and I raised my eyebrow.

"How long is a while?" I asked.

"Um, a few weeks." Easton said and scratched his neck.

My eyes bulged. "A few weeks? Why?"

He nervously chuckled and Austin hopped into the conversation.

"We need a place to stay." he said simply and I could tell he was lying but I decided not to press.

"Okay, just you're in charge of groceries." I said and they laughed while nodding.

"Oh, and here," Clayton said and handed me an envelope." for your troubles." he added with a wink.

I eyed him but opened the paper covering and my eyes bulged.

"Three thousand dollars? Why?" I asked as I stared at the slip of paper in my hand.

"One thousand each, it should cover it." he said and smirked.

"We also got you the weekend off work." Austin added.

"Oh my god I can't-" I began but Clayton interupted.

"You can and you will. How many pancakes." he said and held out a stack of golden brown pancakes.

"Wow, these look amazing." I said and took three.

"I know, I'm hot and I can cook, I'm the total package." he said cockily and smirked, I just rolled my eyes.

This was gona be a very, interesting few weeks.
