Shopping with Matthew is an adventure. The boy has mad fashion taste to wear black and white...all the time.

"Babe, I was thinking gold and black." I said as he looked into space with no care whatsoever.

"Yeah cool." I groaned at his response. "No, cool? I need words like "love it" or "hell no" come on. Please put on a smile for me." I said grabbing his arm.

"Okay, everybody's going to be wearing gold and black. It's basic, even though you'd look fly as hell in a trash bag. Let's spice it up. Out of the box." He said back and I squeezed his biceps.

"I love it when you talk clothes to me." I said to him and he laughed.

We searched and searched until I laid eyes on perfection put into a dress. I pulled Matthew over hurriedly. I could see the irritation on his face.

"My baby bout to be sexy." He said making me blush. "You have to find a suit that matches this." I told him as I drooled over it.

"Okay, can we go now?" He asked in a rush. "Why?" I asked.

"So I can spoil you like a normal guy does to a pretty pretty girl." He said making me blush again. "What happened to not wasting the money?" I asked and he looked at me.

"I have my own money. That's just a plus." I laughed and shook my head at him. "You amaze me, but what girl gives up a shopping spree."

"A stupid one, apparently." He said to me and I laughed.

"Matthew Su...to the office." The clerk said through the door. I jumped up in a hurry. Ms. Roe is literally the worst teacher ever I'd do anything to get out her class.

I strolled nonchalantly to the office stopping for a sip of the public trash, that they love to call water. The principal was waiting on me.

"Summers, have a seat." He said straightening his jacket. "What's up?" I asked and he sighed. We'd become very used to seeing each other over the years. He'd caught a few blows to his head from me while trying to break up fights.

"I tried calling your parents, do you know where they are or if they can come up here?" He asked and I shook my head.

"That's not a option. They're dead to me." I said as serious as possible. Principal Scott just nodded, knowing not to ask any questions.

"Okay, well uhm I'm afraid you won't be graduating this year." He said to me and I never thought I'd care, but my spit got caught in my throat.

"What?" I said and he explained. "You haven't completed the necessary  assignments. Your trip across the country didn't just get rid of assignments. They just stacked up. Your behavior is off the charts. Your teachers say your rude and even though you somehow pass their classes exceptionally we can't push you out until you complete all 120 assignments in the next week." He said and I slammed my fist down.

"You do understand how fucking stupid that is, right? You're giving me one week to complete 120 assignments and I've been home for weeks. Yeah, that makes absolute sense." I said to him walking out, grabbing my bag and leaving the school building before I bashed his face in. Again.

"Where the hell did you go?" I asked him irritated as he pulled up 45 minutes after I called him.

"Away from here." He said harshly unlocking the door. "What the hell?! You can't just leave me stranded." I said and he sighed.

"I'm not graduating." He said and I laughed. "Yes, you are. I told you I was dragging your stubborn ass across the stage." I said.

"No, I can't unless I complete 120 assignments in the next week." He said back.

"You can do it. I'll help you. Be your tutor." I said and he sighed. "Whatever. I can't do it, but whatever you say." He said as we pulled into his driveway. There was a women. She looked homeless, but I could see it from a mile away. Her beautiful eyes just like Matthew's.

"Stay in the car. Don't get out unless I call you. Understand?" He demanded sternly.

Matthew

I slowly treaded toward the dreadful soul of a person. I knocked her shoulder as I walked past her.

"Matthew. I didn't raise you to be rude." She said snarly. "You didn't raise me at all. To busy being a junky whore like dad." I said. I'm sure she felt it. She stormed behind me.

"I didn't invite you in." I said to my supposed birth giver. "I didn't ask to give birth to you either, but you know." She said trying to be funny.

"Very adult like. Get the fuck out my house before I call the cops." I said to her. "Who is the girl?" She asked ignoring my request.

"Someone you'll never know if I have anything to say about it."

"Matthew, where's the money? I know my mom left it all to you. Thank God the hag is dead. We can bathe in her fortune together, baby. Your dad will be back in no time to enjoy it with us." She said serious. Like I'd actually give her a dime.

"We.....fuck no. I'm not five. He's not my dad and I would never give him any money that came from my grandmother. Theresa, you don't get shit because you don't deserve it. You were an awful daughter who treated my only mother-like figure like shit. You treated me like shit and you deserve to pay for the way you did treat us. It's time for you to go. Sorry, you're leaving empty handed. Do me a favor and forget I exist. It shouldn't be hard." I said moving her along out to the door.

"That girl, in the car. She's your girlfriend, huh?" She asked looking at Blu with her eyes fixated on her. It gave me chills. "That's none of your fucking business. Leave now." I said to her.

"Make me and I'll go." She said and I looked at Blu, fear clear in her eyes.

"You. I wish I could hit you with my car, but that beautiful girl deserves to think I'm a good person despite my up bringing." I said to her. "Theresa, I won't ask again. Leave now." I said as she started walking with a ugly smirk.

"You don't have a car?" I asked after her and she shook her head. "Sucks, I should know since my deadbeat mother left me to scrounge up things for myself. Have a nice walk, Theresa." I said as she flicked me off. She's such a nicer person when she's not on drugs.

I just smiled and locked up the cabin tightly knowing Theresa would be back for sure.

"Everything okay?" Blu asked me as I slid in the drivers seat. "Yeah, just a beggar." I said to her and she sighed.

"Who was that, honestly?" She asked. "Nobody important," I said. "She's your mother, I know it. She had your eyes." Blu said as I slammed on my break.

"She's not my mother. She lost that right as soon as I was able to tell her she was a pathetic, sorry, no good person. She didn't and still doesn't give a fuck about me. She came for the money. It's all about her. Always has been. She's not my mother and never will be." I said and Blu looked like a sad puppy whose dreams had been crushed.

"Don't be sad, baby. I'm fine. I just really can't stand when she comes around me. I'm a different person and if she ever came around you l'd kill her." I said and Blu's eyes got so wide.

"No, Matthew. She can't be that bad. You should never want to kill family. No matter what they do."

"She is. She's bad people and she'll do anything in the state she's in." I said softly.

"On drugs?" Blu replied. "Yes,"

"I'm sorry, baby. I wish I could fix it. You seem so hurt." She wrapped her arms around me. I softly pushed her off.

"I'm not. Let it be." I said firmly and she groaned. "I hate that bitch. Now you're in a pissy mood." She said huffing and I snapped around.

"I don't want to fight with you. We have less than 3 weeks together. Just get off my back and stop trying to fix my damn problems." I shot back.

"Matthew, I never said I was going to visit your mother and ask her to treat her son like she actually gave birth to him and love him like a mother should because he's a moody asshole because he doesn't understand the meaning of love because nobody's ever given a damn about him and that I do and I love him." She said in one breath. "I'm also sorry for calling her a bitch. I just don't want you to lose focus or be upset. Like you said we have less than 3 weeks together. You still need to graduate also."

"Yeah, yeah whatever. And call her whatever you want. She's nothing to me. I'm sorry. I shouldn't let myself get to where I act differently,"

She wrapped her arm around my neck and pulled me close.

"No matter what you say or do. I'll love you with all my being." She said looking up at me in the most loving way. Damn Matthew, you went from heartbreaker to a sweetheart.

"Come on, we need to get to work if you ever want to see me walk the stage." I said and she gasped sarcastically.

"Rare sighting. Matthew Summer's actually agrees with me for once with his stubborn ass." She said back making me smile.

"Ah, there it is. What I live for." She said. "Alright, little miss cheesy. Get to work." I replied smacking her ass.
**********

"Matthew, wake up! I'm not good at this and you actually take the class so get to work!" She yelled all sassy. We've finished the majority only 5 lessons left.

She had made us coffee. I reached for my cup and took a big swig. 45 minutes later I was done. I'm graduating!

Blu jumped over the stack of assignments, hugging me.

"Blu, it's 2 in the morning. Chill." I said as she laughed. "Sorry, it's just my BABY IS GRADUATING!" She yelled making my ears ring.

"Yell again and I'll have to ask you to leave." I said making her laugh again.

"Come on. I have a surprise for you."

"If it doesn't involve you naked. I'm too tired." I said as she took off her shirt.

"I guess you'll never know." She said biting her lip. I jumped off the floor racing after her. The path was familiar. The trees all angled the same. My foot prints indented in the ground.

"My Hiding Place." I said smirking at her as we finally stopped running. She had set out a nice little area to rest.

"To celebrate us and this crazy thing called life we are going to do together. This place will always mean something to me. The place I found the man I love and want to be with forever." She said reaching for my hand pulling me to her. I encased her lips in a sweet kiss. Never breathing, or letting go of her. We were just still. Like we were the only ones on this huge world and in that moment I realized....

I'd also found the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. She was right earlier and I pretended like I didn't hear her, but I had. She's right I don't understand love, but with her everything seems heavenly. The thought of her leaving kills me. I think I'd always known it. Just to afraid to say it or tell anyone at all.

"Blu, I don't have words to tell you. Just know I love you, okay." I said pulling both our bodies to the ground. "I don't want to do anything. I just want to hold you." I told her and she smiled so big.

She's my girl, only mine and nothing can take her away from me.
