Mau

Once upon a time there was a Princess who lived in a palace, her name is Khepri, one of the most beautiful and kind women. Princess Khepri has a husband, his name is Pharaoh Mau, an unfaithful man. 

Princess Khepri loves her husband so much that even though she knows that he is unfaithful to her, she still accepts her husband especially since she is pregnant. She wants her child's family to be whole and maybe because of this Pharaoh Mau will change.  But, she made a mistake when she told Pharaoh Mau that she is pregnant, he still hasn't changed.

One day she saw her husband with another woman because of the emotions she felt, anger and sadness, she was able to go to them and tell Pharaoh Mau that...

"You know that I am pregnant and you are going to be a father but you are here with some other girl. We women are not a plaything, we have feelings too. I hope the goddesses will punish you and maybe because of that you will change" while she was saying this, suddenly there was lightning and thunder but she didn't wait for Pharaoh Mau to reply and left for the room. 

After Princess Khepri left the room, she felt as if her stomach was cramping, so in fear, she immediately summoned a physician to one of her servants. 

When the doctor came to her room, he immediately checked the Princess's condition and her son's condition will be fine and that she just needs to rest and not to stress herself. Pharaoh Mau found out what happened to his wife so he quickly went to Princess Khepri's room and heard what the doctor said. 

When the doctor was about to leave he saw the Pharaoh and paid respect to him, so Princess Khepri also looked at where Pharaoh Mau was standing. When the doctor left, Pharaoh Mau also sent Princess Khepri's servants out to talk to her. Pharaoh Mau spoke first, he promised that what happened earlier would not happen again, that he would change for them and because of this, Princess Khepri felt happy and hugged her husband. 

In the following days. She saw that her husband had really changed, and he always visited her. 

Little did they know someone is watching them and that is one of the Goddess, her name is Isis. She is the Goddess of marriage. 

She heard and saw the situation of Princess Khepri when she heard Khepri cursed her husband, Isis almost help Princess to cursed Pharaoh, but she give second chance to Pharaoh Mau to changed and the Goddess didn't make a mistake when she heard what the Pharaoh said to the Princess. 

The Goddess hopes that the Pharaoh will make his promise sincere to the Princess.

A few months later, Princess Khepri's servants as well as the doctor were busy preparing for Princess Khepri's giving birth. 

The only thing that could be heard in the room was the screaming. Later a shrill cry of a baby was also heard! And it was a very beautiful boy because of this Princess Khepri was happy when the baby was given to her. She saw his eyes and the baby got the eye of his father. 

Later on, Princess Khepri looked around looking for her husband but when she didn't see him, she asked her servants where her husband was but none of them answered, they avoided her eyes and remained silent. She asked them once again but there was an emphasis on the words, so one of her servants answered her that Pharaoh Mau was seen with another woman because of this words Princess Khepri felt mixed feelings, she thought that things had changed to her husband but it turns out that he is not and it breaks her heart since Pharaoh make a promised to her but choose to broke it. 

She was feeling a mixture of emotions at that time, she sent all of her servants and even the doctors out of her room, when they left her room, tears began to fall and in no time she said the words 

"A promise is a promise, it shouldn't be broken. You broke my trust in you, I hope you will be punished by anyone. I love you but I think that's not enough for you" Because of this, the sky suddenly darkened and the roar of thunder and lightning could be heard. 

Princess Khepri heard her son's cry, she looked at him and smiled at her son. She promised her that he would love her and take care of her and not make her experience what she experienced with her husband. 

She hummed a lullaby for her son when she saw that her son had fallen asleep. She also felt sleepy because of the tiredness. 

While in the room, Pharaoh Mau felt very hot all over his body, he was sweating and his body was aching. He didn't know what was happening to him. Later on he heard something saying 

"I give you a chance to change but you broke your promise to your wife, so I will punish you for being unfaithful to her." 

Pharaoh Mau was looking everywhere to hope that he would find that voice... 

He feel very sick that he called one of his servant but before he called all he could see is light and after that he saw as if the things around him had grown and he was shocked when he saw that his hands had no fingers but hairs and sharp nails not only that, but he also saw a tail behind him!!!

When he heard someone enter his room he hid under his bed. 

The servant saw that the Pharaoh was not in the room so she asked the guards where the pharaoh was and when they say that the pharaoh didn't leave the room, all of them were shocked and looking for the Pharaoh. 

While the Pharaoh is waiting for the servant to leave, he falls asleep.

In the next morning, Princess Khepri woke up and she could hear the people outside her room marching around and later on one of her servants suddenly came in and that's when she found out that the Pharaoh was missing. 

They were looking for him in the palace and outside the palace but still couldn't find him... 

She looked at his son because she felt bad for the Pharaoh because no matter how much she hates him, he is the pharaoh of their country and the father of her son...

Also bad things could happen in the palace if the Pharaoh is missing...

The pharaoh has been missing for some time and they still can't find him and find out what is the reason why he is missing. Princess Khepri went to her husband's room with her baby whom she named Ahmed. 

When they were in the room, she sat on the bed and wondered where Mau was, especially since he hadn't seen their son yet. 

...For a few moments she heard a rustling under the bed...

...because of this, she looked at it...

...and she was very surprised to see a creature with four legs, two pointed ears, and a tail!!!

...not only that surprised her but the eyes that she fell for, like the Pharaoh, as of this she thought she was staring at her husband... 

...she took it and asked her servants what kind of creature it was, no one could answer her since they did not know what it was, but they were amazed at its beauty, especially the eyes are like the eyes of their Pharaoh and of Ahmed. 

The Pharaoh was looking into her eyes and tried to talk to her but the only word that left his mouth was "meow'". 

Everyone in the room was amazed by this creature. Pharaoh Mau knew that this is a curse by the goddess to him for being unfaithful and just accepted it as long as he will stay by his wife and son's side. 

The Princess takes care of this creature and calls it Mau. The Pharaoh Mau was never seen again and there was also a rumor that Pharaoh Mau was the creature that Princess Khepri saw in the Pharaoh's room as the reason it was punished by the goddess Isis while the new Pharaoh in the kingdom was Princess Khepri until her son is in the right age to sit in the throne.
