Katrina's Katana

by Chathlyn S. Erat

Once upon a time, during the Heian period around 700 CE. There was a brave warrior named Akio who fought for the lives of many Japanese people against Kaiju, a giant monster in Hiroshima.

Akio asked his sister Hinata to look after his daughter Katrina while he was at war, ensuring his only daughter's safety and well-being.

"Oneesan, please take care of my daughter while I'm away from her, make sure that you keep her alive and healthy," Akio said to Hinata, his sister.

"Take care of yourself, Akio. I'm going to look after your daughter," Hinata replied to Akio.

While Hinata and Katrina moved to a small village in Hokkaido, Japan, chaos ensued in their old place. As months passed by, Akio didn't make it; he passed away while saving countless lives, killed by the Kaiju, the giant monster.

Akio's daughter, Katrina, grew up as a fine and brave woman. Upon learning that the Kaiju, who killed her father, returned to take more lives of Japanese people, Katrina was determined to execute this giant monster to avenge her dad. She expressed her desire to fight using her father's samurai.

Hinata informed Katrina that she is the only one who can inherit her dad's samurai (katana) since she is the only child of the deceased warrior. She inherited the samurai.

Hinata guided Katrina to the location where she could find her father's katana, and she was destined to be the first woman warrior in Japan.

When the Kaiju attacked Japan, it first took the emperor of their country. The brave woman didn't hesitate to fight against this heinous monster to save the emperor. She stabbed the Kaiju in the heart, and the heinous monster turned into ashes.

Japanese people screamed that Katrina's katana saved their lives. After that, Japanese warriors started creating and using samurai as their weapons in wars.
