"Mom, I'm home!" I shouted as I made my way to the kitchen "you'll never believe the day I had, I was walking to school in the morning and..." I explained to my mom who was washing the dishes, but as I kept explaining I noticed how my mom wasn't responding or even acknowledged what I was saying "... Mom? Are you listening?" I asked softly

"What? Oh yeah, sure you can play with your game today" she said sounding annoyed

"But, that's not what I said"

"Anyways, eat your lunch before you do anything else" she said pointing to the food on the stove, and when I got close I saw a small portion of eggs that wouldn't be enough to fill me

"Um mom, Is there anymore egg? This is a little egg for-"

"Even after making you lunch, you are being ungreatful" she said a bit mad

"What no! I'm very grateful, it's just that-"

"If you don't wanna see me mad then got to your room"

"But-"

"YOUR GROUNDED!"

after she yelled at me, I walked straight to my room, trying to hold the tears that wanted to fall

Once in my room I closed the door, and pulled out a sandwich from my backpack that I had since morning, it wasn't gonna be enough, but it will help with the hunger for a while, and as I ate it I felt the tears that I was trying to hold fall down my face, since I don't have a single memory where me and my mom where happy together, either she's always mad or just doesn't notice I'm there

A short while later, I heard my door open, and my mom came in with her business suit on

"Alright (Y/N) I'll be heading to work, so just behave yourself until I come back" she said, and just like that she left the room, but I ran towards her and grabbed her hand to stop her

"Mom wait, don't go to work today, let's play together instead" I suggested

"Sorry (Y/N), but I have to work to sustain us" she said pulling her arm away and walked to the front door "can you at least cam back early today?" I asked softly, but she kept walking ignoring what I just said "...WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME LIKE A NORMAL MOM!!!" I shouted at her, and before she left through the door she turned around and walked towards me, and she gave out an angered ambient growing more the closer she got, and pulled my ear to her once she was in reach "ow mom that hurts ow" I said wanting to cry from the Pain

"Listen you little good for nothing brat, I waste my back all day to take are us and you raise your voice at me" she said angry while still pulling my ear

"Mom, it hurts"

"You feel the pain, well that's how I also feel ever since you came, because of you your father left me and disappeared, I had hopes and dreams, and you took it all away from me"

"I'm sorry, please let me go now"

"You think sorry will fix everything, well your wrong, accidents can't be fixed, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE!" She yelled pulling me to my room "YOU RUINED MY LIFE  SO GET OUT OF IT BECAUSE I NEVER WANTED YOU AND I NEVER WILL!!!!" She yelled throwing me causing me to fall on the floor and slammed the door leaving

"... she... never loved me?" Was the last thing I said before I felt something drip from my face, and my vision started to fade away, but I didn't care anymore, since I didn't feel like living anymore...

A few days later

Nina's POV

"Hey Nina" one of my coworkers said from behind me

"Oh, hi Joe, what can I help you with?"

"Nothing in particular" he said handing me a small box wrapped up

"Um and this is?"

"It's for your son, since my daughter said she was sick on the day of the spelling bee your son was the one who took her place, and she bought him a gift, but she hasn't seen him in school anywhere, is he alright?"

"Who?"

"(Y/N), your son"

"Oh right, yes he's fine, he's just at home doing...?" I said, but I realized I don't know what's he been up to after I yelled at him

"I guess work has gotten you stressed up, have you ever asked for a day of to hang out with your son"

"I don't think so"

"What? Don't you care about (Y/N)? Look how about I tell the boss to give you a day off tommorow, if you don't hang out with your son he might fall in depression"

"I... I guess your right"

"Great, then I'll go ask him now,  also tell him that Angela says thanks for his help" he said leaving and I was left feeling somewhat bad from my relationship with (Y/N)

'Now that I think about it, the only time I told (Y/N) That I loved him was when he was a baby, but then his father left and I was under some stress and depression' and the more I thought about it the more I realize how terrible of a mother I have been thanks to my problems

'i guess I could take him somewhere he enjoys... But where does he even likes to be... No matter, I'll just ask him once I'm back' I thought as I kept working

Time later

After a long drive from work I was back home with (Y/N)'s gift his classmates made for him, I entered the house and made my way to the kitchen to see what I could eat, but before I could open the fridge I remembered what Joe said about spending time with (Y/N), and thought it be better to talk with him first, so I walked to his room and knocked the door

"(Y/N), are you awake? I have something to ask you?" I said but he didn't answered "...(Y/N) wake up, I know your just upset, so I want to talk to you about it" but still no answer "fine I'm coming in"

I then opened his door slowly, his room was dark and quiet, but when I opened the door completely I saw him laying on the ground, in the exact same position as the last time I saw him with dried blood on his face

My heart stopped at the sight, his eyes where lifeless and it looked like he wasn't breathing, and I ran quickly to pick him up, and everything went by so fast, the trip to the hospital, explaining what happened, waiting for the doctors to operate him, it was like if my instincts acted by itself, and during all of this I felt fear, and dessesperation, my son was on the verge of dying and I took to long to do something

After a a few hours the doctors said that he was ok, and I was able to wait for him to wake up in his room, so I sat next to him holding his hand

And after another few hours I was a bit Drowzee, but before I slept I felt (Y/N)'s hand move, and it got me to wake up a bit

"(Y/N), your awake" I said happily and he looked at me with a dull look, and he pulled his hand away from mine and turned around not facing me "(Y/N)?" I asked but he didn't respond "I'm sorry (Y/N), I know the way I treated you was awful... but if you give me another chance, I'll be an even better mom then I would have originally been" I said, but he still didn't responded back "...(Y/N)?" I said reaching him

"I'm sorry" he said surprising me

"What? No I'm the one-"

"I never wanted to be a burden to you, but no matter what I do to make you happy, I will always be an accident" he said dully

"(Y-Y/N) listen, Its not-" I said trying to not cry, but he interrupted me again

"So don't worry Nina, once I'm all fixed I'll leave the house to get out of your life, and I'll even find my dad to tell him I'll be out of your ways" and after hearing that, I felt my heart break into many pieces, because he called me by my name instead of mom

"No (Y/N), just listen to me"

"I'm afraid he can't from that side ma'm" the doctor said with some x-rays in his hand, and he walked towards me showing me them "as you can see here, a part in his ear was snapped and disjointed, and with that piece broken he won't be able to hear with this ear again"

After hearing the news I felt guilty, it was my fault for pulling his ear without knowing what I could have done to him

I slowly walked to his other side and bend on my knees to be at eye level with him

"(Y/N)" I said and he looked at me "I know I wasn't the best person for you, but please don't leave me, you are the only family I have left, and I don't want to lose you to because of my actions"

"...but you"

"I'm sorry for everything, your not an accident, your my son, I love you so much, so please stay with me, even if you call me Nina, don't... leave..." And I started crying before I could Finnish my sentence, but then I felt (Y/N) rub my hair, and I slowly looked up

"...Fine, I'll stay, but stop crying Nina" he said, and instead I hugged him while I cried in his shoulder felling both happy and sadness

Two years later

"(Y/N) Its time for school" I shouted from the kitchen as I made breakfast, and a short while later (Y/N) came running down

"I'm ready, what are you making?"

"Your favorite, since today is your first day of school I thought why not start of with a nice breakfast" I said, and we both ate wonderfully

"Ok I'm done, I'll be heading to school now, thanks Nina" he said getting up, and even though it's been years, It still stings when he calls me by my name

"No problem (Y/N), have a wonderful day at school"

I said getting up as well, but he didn't leave right away

"(Y/N)?"

"Im sorry, what I meant to say was... I love you... mom" he said and my heart was overflowing with happiness "I guess it's hard to get used to after two yea-" and before he finished I tackled and cuddled him from my excitment

"You called me mom, I was waiting for so long for you to call me that again" I said crying tears of joy

"Ok ok, I know you love me mom, but I have to-"

"Just a moment" I said not wanting to let go yet, and I felt him hug me in return

And this moment made me regret all those years of neglect I gave my son, but now I won't ever do it again, for my sweet (Y/N)
