(Y/N) POV

"Why Hello there (Y/N)" a lady said to me nicely with a girl my age in her arms

" (Y/N), this is mommy's old friend, and she brought her daughter to play with you" my mom said to me, the lady put the girl down and we both looked at eachother

"Lyra, he is (Y/N), he will play with you from now on" the lady said and the girl walked and hugged laughing while jumping

"Awwwwww" our moms said

Time later

i was now 8 years old and I heard my mom's friend come and visit again but I was busy playing with my toy car in my room to go see them, and while I was playing Lyra entered my room and sat down in front of me

"Hi (Y/N)" she said smiling

"Hello ly-" i was cut off by Lyra kissing me, I was surprised and i backed up from her with a red face "haha, i saw mommy and daddy do this and I wanted to do it with you"

"But... I don't think we-" i was cut off again by Lyra who jumped on me and started snuggling my cheek with hers

Time later

Now I was 10 years old, Lyra and I are now basically best friends even tho she's very clingy with me, but I still couldn't ask for a better friend

I heard the door knock while I was doing my homework, so I got up and saw who it was, and it was my neighbors

"Hello (Y/N), I know your mother is not home now but can Lyra stay with you while I'm gone" mom's friend asked me

"Sure, I'll take care of her" Lyra then grew a big smile

"Thanks, I'll be back soon Lyra" and she left the house, I let lyra in and closed the door

"Hey (Y/N)" lyra said making me look at her "wanna play pokey" she asked with a small box in her hand

"Ok, how do you play?" She opened the box and it was filled with chocolate sticks

"Here, put this in your mouth but don't eat it" I grabbed the pokey stick and put it in my mouth

"Now close your eyes, we're both gonna eat it and first one to let go losses"

"Shouns esy enoaf" i said with the stick in my teeth

"Go" and I started nibbling the stick and before I knew it I felt something soft on my lips, so I open my eyes and saw that I was kissing lyra and I broke the kiss

"L-l-l-lyra" i said with my face heating up

"Haha, looks like we tide, wanna play again"

Time later

The second day of middle school, I sure am nervous still

I entered school and looked for my locker and on my way I saw a crowd of boys and I wanted to see what are hey looking at and when I saw what was happening i saw Lyra in the middle of the crowd

"Please go out with me"

"Ive been in love with you since 3rd grade"

"Be my girlfriend"

Was what everyone was saying to Lyra, she was kinda looking scared wanting to get out "I'm sorry everyone but..." she said nervously until she saw me in the crowd "(Y/N)!"

Everyone where confused for a moment and looked at the direction lyra was looking at, she then ran towards me hugging me in the process "are you ok ly-"

Lyra then kissed me... again... and everyone sighed in defeat  and walked away, Lyra let go me the kiss once everyone was gone

"Thank you (Y/N), you really saved me back there " she said as she leaned her head in my chest

"O-of course, that's what friends are for"

Present

"Wake up (Y/N)~" i heard and I slowly started opening my eyes, and in front of me was lyra in her pajamas which was just a small black shirt and shorts

"Good morning lyra" i said tired, Lyra then got on top of me and stared into my eyes

"You know what time it is right~" she said kissing me at the end of her sentence, and we stayed like that for a minute before separating for air

"You know lyra... you can't keep kissing me... because I'm not your boyfriend" i said

"i know, but I can't wait for you to ask me out" she said making me blush

"And why me... there's better people then me" i said not looking at her, Lyra giggled at me after what I said

"Because your the one who took my first kiss" she said, I blushed some more remembering our first kiss "besides, we've been friends since forever now and I really enjoy being with you" she said hugging my arm, and her statement made me look at her to which she responded with a cute smile "plus, I've always been in love with you ever since our first kiss"

"And, you think I'm going to ask you out?" I asked

"Well I'm not sure, but I haven't lost hope, and I'll keep waiting no matter how long it takes" she let go and kissed me one more time before leaving my room

"...right, our parents are out and we decided to have a sleep over" I got up and changed to my clothes, and when I got down i saw lyra now dressed preparing breakfast

"Hi (Y/N), I made your favorite" she said with a plate of pancakes shaped like hearts with our initials written in syrup

"*sigh* thanks lyra, you truly are my best friend" i said

"Oh it's no-"i cut lyra off by kissing her, she was surprised but she put the plate down on the table and put her arms around my neck and we stayed like that again until we needed air

"i guess I surprised you now hmm" she had a blush on her face with a smile and I kissed her again taking her by surprise, once we seperated she started cuddling me

"i love you (Y/N)" she said and I put my arms around her not wanting to let her go
