It was a bright Monday morning and I was on my way to school. as i walked i saw a lot of kids going to school as well, most of them we're going with a friend or in groups, but I was going alone.

I always had trouble making friends due to my lack of social skills, but even with that there is one person who always is with me, that being...

"Marie wait!!"

(Y/N), ever since 3rd grade we have been friends and he never leaves my side, he's nice but i wish i had more friend's, i actually want to be popular but that's something i discovered to be hard.

"(Y/N)? Why where you running, we still have half an hour till school start's"

"*pant*But when i was looking out the window *pant* i saw you were already heading *pant* to school"

"I told you tons of times now to not rush, we always see each other in school"

"I know, but your my best friend, i would never let a second go to waist"

"Well now that your here lets go, first day of us being in high school is the day ill be popular"

"Sure it will, just don't get your hopes up"

"Shut up, maybe it will happen"

As we made it to school we went to find my locker first to get stuff ready.

"You know (Y/N), i wish i had breakfast before i left"

"I though you might say that, so i came prepared"

(Y/N) got out a small milk carton and gave it to me

"Thanks (Y/N) your a life savor"

I was going to put the straw in the box but someone closed there locker so loud it made my grip tighter and accidentaly soaked (Y/N) in milk.

"(Y/N) IM SORRY, I DIDN'T!..."

"Its ok marie, accidents happen"

"Your not mad then?"

"Why would i, we're friends since forever, so a little milk won't break our friendship, but i do have to clean myself so ill see you later"

"Ok, bye (Y/N)"

I still feel guilty about the milk but (Y/N) never gets mad for little things like this, its no surprise why we where friends for so long now.

As i closed my locker some one talked to me from afar.

"Hey"

I saw it was Jazmin spears, the most popular girl in school, she was a person (Y/N) doesn't look up to and i wonder why, she's everything i wish i could be.

"I saw you spilled milk at that guy and it was hilarious, and the way he just walked away, was he proposing to you or something"

"WHAT!!!"

"Yeah i thought so, who would date a guy like that"

"Wait but i only"

"Its ok girl i know how it is having every guy wanting you cuz of your status"

"Umm... by that you mean im pretty?"

"Maybe but hey, wanna hang out with me, anyone who rejects that way is always allowed to hang with me"

As i heard this i was getting exited in my head 'Jazmin, the most popular girl wants me to hang out with her'

"YES!...um i mean sure"

"Ok girl lets go to class"

"My name is Marie"

"Sure now come on the best seats will be taken"

We walked to class and we talked on the way, i knew today would be the day.

(Y/N) POV

Milk stains weren't always my friend, but its a good thing i carry a spare shirt.

Once i was done i headed to class, once i got there i was looking for Marie since we always have the same class, i found her but she was with her, i was a little confused as to why was Jaz next to Marie, i walked to a seat next to marie but...

"Hey buddy, she said no to you a while ago, why are you still going on"

This got me more confused .

"Um...is there a problem jaz"

"Like you need to ask, why don't you just go to the back seat"

"But i always sit next to Marie"

"Well she already showed you what she thinks of you right Marie"

I looked at Marie wanting to know what's going on.

"Umm well...uhh"

"Mr. (L/N) can you take a seat please" the teacher said.

"I trying but"

"Why not take the back seat if you want" jaz suggested.

"Thanks Ms.Spears, take the back seat please Mr.(L/N)"

I was shocked at this due to me being far from Marie for this year, but i had no choice so i took the back seat, and from hear i saw Marie giving me a 'sorry' look.

"Well this year started fine"

Time skip

During the whole time at school Jaz and Marie where hanging out, and seeing Marie laughing without me made me sad.

School ended and i was waiting for Marie so we can walk home together at least for today but as she got out of the building she was still with Jaz,I tried to get Marie's attention but she ignored me and went home with her.

I was speachless seeing my best friend just leave like that, i walked home hoping the we can hangout later.

3 months later

After the day Marie and jaz became friends, we never did anything together again, i was getting depressed at this fact and just wished her back.

While i was at home busy with my homework i saw the mail arrive, i picked it up and saw that one was from Marie, i imidietly opened it and it revealed it was an invitation to a birthday party shes having, i jumped happily knowing that my best friend didn't forget me.

I started planing what to give her, it didn't take long knowing what she would want, its kinda pricey but it's worth it for her.

I got my coat and my savings and went to buy her gift.

Time skip

Today was the day, Marie was 1 year older now, as i was getting closer to her house i saw it was crowded, i guess she wasn't lying about her being popular, I'll apologize for that later.

I got in her house and searched for Marie but it was hard when the whole school was here in her house, i could feel everyone staring at me like if i was a foreign, i took forever and no sign of her, i sat down in a chair and as it was fate i heard Marie behind me, she had a blue dress that made her look beautiful.

"(Y/N)? Your here" Marie said cheerfully.

I was unable to answer cuz she literally paralyzed me with her beauty.

"Hello? Earth to (Y/N)" she said as she knocked my head

"Sorry, i was surprised, you look really nice in that dress" i saw her cheeks turn a little red after i said that.

"Oh...thanks, but now that your here, i was hoping you could do the honers of giving a speech"

"WHAT?!" me, talking to a bunch of people i don't know, that seemed imposible " why me"

"Cuz your my best friend" she said with a smile.

It was the first time she actually said that,i wad thrilled that i accepted

"Ok ill do it"

"Thanks (Y/N), ill see you later"

"Wait i forgot to..."

And just like that she dissapeared, i was a bit sad but not a lot since she trusted me on something important.

After a while it was already time for me to give a speech about Marie, i went to the balcony and I was nervous but i got everyone's attention.

"Um...excuse me everyone" all eyes where on me now " i just wanted to say that..."

I was cut of by a bunch of milk soaking me, and i heard everyone laugh at me, i was beyond confused at what happened until i heard her.

"Oh what happened here, looks like lover boy needed more then just a small box to understand, nice planing Marie"

When i opened my eyes i saw that jaz and marie started laughing at me, and i felt something i never thought i'd feel again, i wasn't sure what hurt more now, the humiliation or being betrayed by my best friend.

My eyes started to get wet so i left as fast as i can dropping the gift i had for marie, the pain was so much that i wanted to die, i got to my house and ran to my room locking it in the procese, i started crying thinking about the time marie called me her 'best friend', it was all a lie, i wish i could have seen it before.

Marie's POV

I had a blast in the party, i was finally one of the most popular kids in school.

After time the party was over and everyone was leaving, i was searching for Jazmin and saw she was leaving to.

"Jazmin, where you going?"

"To my BFF's house why"

"I though you would like to stay for a little while"

"Sorry girl but i can't, maybe next time"

"But you always said that"

"Ugh, look i gave you a party like no other so stop insisting me"

I was shocked ay her answer, a was never spoken liked that before.

She left and i was left at home alone, even tho i was popular no one stayed here to help me clean the place...

After time i was almost done cleaning, i walked out to throw the last trash bag and i saw a wet box, thinking it was also trash i was going to throw it away as well when i saw a note, it was from (Y/N), oh yeah i remembered he had this box with him.

I opened it to see what it was and was surprised, it was a necklace that i always wanted, there was a note in it as well saying
'To the bestest friend in the world
i saw that you always looked at the neckelass when we always go to the mall, so i saved to buy it for you, i hope our friendship would last forever.

I could feel a tear fall from my cheek, (Y/N) bought the thing i always wanted and i treated him like an annoyance, he was always there for me and never left my side, i started to regret showering him with milk and embarrassing him in front of everyone, what kind of friend was i, i needed to apologize but i didn't know where he lived exactly, i guess i should have been the one to give him the invitation.

I went to my room with the necklace and went to sleep waiting for school to start, dou to that its the only way i can apologize now, i hope he forgives me.

Time skip

I was waiting in front of the school waiting for (Y/N) but he hasn't showed up yet , i started to worry and the bell ring.

I got to class and saw that (Y/N) was already in the classroom, but he looked different he wasn't smiling neither was his vibe happy eather, when he saw me he just looked at me as if i was nothing to him then he looked away, it hurt that he just saw me as a random person.

I walked to his desk and started to get nervous.

"(Y/N), are you ok?..."

"..."he didnt even looked at me.

"I know what i did was unforgivable and im sorry for it, but i hope we can still be friends"

He then lookes at me "why do you need me, clearly you have what you wanted that is being popular"

"Because your my best friend"

"Dont start with that again marie"

"What do you mean?"

"I gave my trust, my attention and my time to you, you where the only friend i had, but i guess i was stupid enough to see that you wern't intrested in our friendship"

"But i thought..."

"What, that just by saying 'im sorry for what i did your my best friend ' is gonna fix everything, well im sorry to break it to you but no, that dosnt fix everything, yesterday when you told me that i was your best friend, i was happy because that was the first time you called me that, but it was just a lie so just leave me alone cuz ill never be your best friend"

I started to cry and (Y/N) as well, i felt like giving up but i rememberd all the times he never left me behind, he was always there for me, and i needed to return the favor.

"No, im not leaving you"

"Why, you have friends around you, you are literaly the 3rd most popular person in school now"

"They are not my friends, they just know my name and thats it, you are my only friend and i will do anything to get you back"

The bell ring and we all had to go to our seats, i had to leave (Y/N) for a while untail school ended, and during the time (Y/N) avoided me most of the time, i guess i really did break his trust.

It was time to go home and i saw (Y/N) walking to his house, i ran towards him and actually cought up.

"(Y/N) wait" he stoped and turned around.

"What now marie"

"Please forgive me, i dont want anything more then you to forgive me so ill do anything you want"

"Anything?"

"Yes"

"Hold my hand"

I blushed it his request and was hesitant but i got his hand.

"Ok now what"

"Now i want you to look into my eyes and apoligize"

I looked into his eyes and started to say sorry but i could feel my face heating up from this.

"I sorry for what i did (Y/N), please forgive me"

"Ok now one last thing, close your eyes"

"Why?"

"Fine, if thats how it is ill leave"

He tried to leave but i hold his hand tight so he couldnt go.

"No ill close them just dont fool me"

I closed my eyes and held his hand tighter, i felt his hand under my chin and felf a pair of lips touch mine, i opened my eyes to see (Y/N) kissing me, he stoped the kiss and i was shocked.

"You dont know how long i wanted to do that"

"Dose this mean we are more then friends?"

"Dose this answer your question"

And we kissed again but this time i melted in to it and kissed back, after a while we let go to get some air.

"Well marie, you are now forgiven, you can let go of my hand now"

I didnt want to let go.

" can we stay like this till we get home"

"Fine, anything for you"

We walked to my house holding hands and i could feel like if all the happyness in me get bigger and bigger, i let go of his hand and kissed him before going to my house.

"Marie"

"Yes (Y/N)"

"I love you"

"I love you to, ill see you tomorow"

"Ill see you too"

I ran to my room and huged my pillow, my best friend is now my boyfriend, i hope nothing ever breakes this friendship.
