year 2173

arrival of the Sully family

Sharpening her dagger, Leyra sat in her own little Marui about to go for a hunt for this evenings meal but then she heard the horn, which signals of an arrival of people. She did not give much thought to it. Maybe it's Tonowari coming back from a hunt himself.

Minutes later she felt the uneasiness of people of her clan outside the Marui, walking past it to the place where strangers are gathered in the center.

She looked outside and saw her people forming a circle around six different looking Na'vi and behind them are Ikrans. Forest people. What do they want here?

She could make out two adults and 4 kids from the distance. The smallest child is clinging to her mother afraid of this situation they are in.

Aonung walked past her with his friend Rotxo

"Wait!" She called. "What's going on?" She asked, walking in between the two boys and looking to Aonung.

"Some kind of forest Na'vi arrived here. Don't know what they want." He answered, sneaking his arm around Leyra's waist and pulling her closer to himself. She rolled her eyes at his touchy behavior, but she was used to this.

They made their way to the people and Aonung and his friends went to the front, but Leyra stayed in the back, watching the newcomers curiously.

Aonung and Rotxo started mocking the teenage boys.

"Look at their tail. How are they supposed to swim?" Rotxo laughed with Aonung. Leyra watched them with a frown.

"Enough!" Tsireya hissed after she came out of the water and soon the Olo'eyktan Tonowari arrived. The family greeted him respectfully.

The Tsahik walked past Leyra to her mate Tonowari with a furious expression on her face. They also greeted her. It would be harder to persuade her to whatever the family wanted.

"Why do you come to us, Jake Sully?" Tonowari asked. Jake Sully. Leyra heard many story about the mighty Toruk Makto.

"We seek Uturu." he simply said but the pleading in his eyes did not go unnoticed by Leyra. "A sanctuary for my family."

"But we are reef people and you are forest people. Your skills will not be needed here." Tonowari stated the obvious as Ronal started to examine the forest people and their different features.

"We will learn your ways!" Jake quickly said looking to his mate for approval, who just nodded uncomfortably as Ronal touched her tail.

"Their arms are thin" Ronal said gesturing to the little girls arms. "And their tails are weak." She continued.

"You are going to be very slow in the water." She said, looking at the family.

Grabbing the hands of the oldest girl she told the clan "These children are not real Na'vi!"

"Yes we are!" shouted the girl, earning a harsh look from her mother.

Ronal moved on to the teenage boy, holding his hand up for everyone to see. "They have demon blood!" The whole clan gasped in fear and all took a step back form the family. Leyra sadly looked down at her own hands. Five fingers on each hand.

"Look! Look!" Jake Sully holds his hand up for Ronal to see. Five fingers on the hand. She looked confused for a moment and Leyra let out a small chuckle at her face expression. Leyra turned to a clan member to her left and showed him her hands in a dangerous motion. He gasped anxiously and took a step back from her. Leyra chuckled.

A forest boy noticed the movement of Leyra, which wasn't unlikely, due to her different skin color that stood out in the crowd.

His gaze slid over her body. It wasn't like the typical body the Metkayina had. She was different. Her body is a beautiful blue green color, like the ocean beside them and her stripes are a deep blue, like his own skin color. Her hands had five fingers on each hand and hair tail was thin, but not exactly like his own. Her face was a mix of his kind and of the clan that stood around him. And her eyes. Her eyes were the most beautiful thing he ever had seen. They were a deep shade of green. The color of her eyes reminded him of the forest he used to live in. Her plump lips are a light shade of red.

As he looked into her eyes she caught him looking at her and she winked to him with a smirk on her lips. He blushed and quickly looked away to his brother beside him. He had seen him staring at this mysterious girl at the back of the oceanic people and he smirks to his brother Neteyam.

"Do not say anything about this." Neteyam whispers to Lo'ak. He held his hands up in surrender, promising not to say anything.

"I was born with the sky people and now I am Na'vi, right? You can adapt." Jake Sully exclaimed and gaining the attention from everyone. "We will adapt, okay?" he turns to Tonowari.

"My mate was Toruk Makto!" Neytiri yelled. "He led the people to victory." Jake cringes at her words knowing the they would make it worse.

"This you call victory? Hiding amongst strangers?" Ronal yelled back to Neytiri, facing her with an enraged expression. She turned to Jake and spitted "It seems that Eywa turned her back on you, chosen one."

Neytiri hisses angry at Ronal and she hissed back. Glaring at each other both women seem ready to fight. Both male mates looked at each other clueless what to do.

Jake steps in "I apologize for my mate, she's-"

"Do not apologize for me!" She hissed at his mate.

"-come a long way and she is exhausted." He finished his sentence.

Tonowari now spoke to his clan "Toruk Makto is a great war leader, but we Metkayina are not at war." he turns to Jake. "We cannot let you bring this war to us."

"I don't want war. I just want to keep my family safe." Jake responds weakly as he hold his youngest child in his arms. Leyra's heart ached for this family. The only thing they wanted is to live in peace.

The couple of the Metkayina clan shared a knowing look between each other. They decision is made.

Tonowari turns to his clan. "Toruk  Makto and his family will stay with us, treat them as our brothers and sisters. But they do not know the sea, so they will be like babies taking their first breath."

He looked at the family. "Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless." Leyra cringes at his choice of words. He could not make them feel more unwanted here.

"Thank you." Jake said and turned to his family. "What do we say?" He mutters.

"Thank you." Each member of the forest family said muddled up.

"My son Aonung and my daughter Tsireya, will show your children our ways." Tonowari pointed to his children beside him.

"Father, why do-" Aonung started to protest but was silenced my the warning look of his father. Leyra rolled her eyes annoyed because of Aonung childish behavior.

"It has been decided."

"Leyra!" Ronal yelled and Leyra made her way to the front where she is now eyed by the whole Sully family. She felt the piercing gaze of Neteyam on her skin and of the younger brother Lo'ak too. She briefly looks at them, and then turns her attention to Ronal.

The brothers exchange a knowing look. Saying without words that the unknown girl caught both their attention. Lo'ak now understood why his brother was checking this girl out. She is breathtakingly beautiful.

"Keep an eye on them, Leyra." Ronal whispered to her and looked at her strictly. "Teach them as well, because you would understand the misery of being an outcast." The venom of her tongue is clearly heard by Leyra. She just nodded as a response.

She swallows hard at those hurtful words, but she is used to them, so she ate them up and turned to the family with an unreadable expression. She goes to stand beside Aonung and Tsireya.

"Come! I will show you the village!" Tsireya exclaimed happily.
