During the next ten days, the workers made considerable progress. They finished making the foundations for all the buildings and built the frame for the inn. They were currently working on building the back wall of one of the houses. Seymour recommended that I place a quest board by the entrance to the camp for players who were hanging around. Some of the quests included, well digging, tree chopping, and wood engraving.

I directed several players digging a well in the center of the camp while watching other players come back from the forest, carrying large tree trunks. A player with the engraving skill came a few days after I posted the quest on the board. I hired him to engrave the inn's sign on a wood plaque and then direction signs.

I had split the caravan into two groups. One of them would travel back to Djaden City to pick up more building supplies, a cook I knew, along with his two sons, a couple serving girls, and stable boys. They would also contract a smith to come down and make a smithy and a wood worker. The other group would travel to the nearest town, called Antor City, and promote the new commercial road and buy some more building supplies. As they traveled, each caravan was going to plant directional arrows that pointed towards the different trails and towards the ruins.

By the time they had both came back, buildings had finished being built. We had also ran out of materials so I had the workers erect a temporary wooden barrier in front of the entrances. The smith, the inn keeper, and the wood worker were introduced to the architect and I. After dinner, we examined the potential locations and discussed the necessary materials.

By the end of the next month, the walls around the small settlement had been finished, along with the inn and two of ten houses. I left all the worker at the ruins, along with a few orders, and headed back to Djaden City with all the players.

The journey back was proved to be very peaceful. Because of this, I was able to get more people on my friend's list and increase the soldiers' levels by sending them on drills or hunting parties.

When we arrived back at Djaden City, I paid the players and sent a small written report to the Lord. I proceeded to a couple shops and bought supplies for the inn, smithy, wood workshop, and houses. I also bought many aromatic plants, several different types of flowers, seeds, and a couple saplings. I hopped back onto the wagons and left for the ruins once more.

Because this time there were only the ten wagon drivers and I, we were often attacked by small groups of bandits or wolves. Thank to this, my level rose twice on our way. I put all the ten points I had received into vitality. I still had to see Kaden to choose my job, but it could wait until the project was well underway.

By the time I got back to the ruins, another twenty days had passed. Almost all of the structures had been built, only three of the houses needed to built. I directed five of the wagons to enter the village, they were filled with building materials, wool blankets, wood furniture, lumber, ores, and a furnace.  The other five went down the lift. They carried plants, seeds, and the saplings I had purchased, along with other building materials.

I gave out the furniture to the inn, smith, workshop, and the other houses, along with tableware, pots, pans, and woolen blankets. By the end of the second month, all the houses were finished and wood shop and smithy were open for business. The ruins had been cleaned and turned into a giant underground hangar. Wagons would come and go using the platform and could be stored in the renovated stables. Precious items could be stored in old treasure rooms. The dormitories were transformed into guard barracks. Two rooms were set as temporary quarters for passing merchants. For those with more money could stay at the inn. Repairs to wagons could be taken care of by the woodworker and smith.

The last task I gave to the builders was to build a farm in the atrium and plant the trees, aromatic plants, and flowers I had brought from Djaden City. All of the plants I had chosen were medical herbs or could be used as ingredients in cooking. The trees were also fruit trees. The seeds would sprout into vegetables. I had the builders make a small gardening area in the back of each house in the prospect of having the people grow their own food.

The woodworker had been sculpting nonstop since I had last left for Djaden City. He had produced a series of sculptures of wild forest animals. I had him place them around the marble obelisk. When that project was done, I received a notification.

From there on. all the work done in the site were purely decorative. The wooden doors were carved using ancient druid's designs. The underground tunnels were carved with scenes of druid rituals. The clothes worn by the shopkeeper and inn workers were embroidered with druid glyphs.

When the village attraction level reached 150, I prepared to go back to Djaden with the drivers and workers. The night before we left, I decided to hunt. Shapeshifting into a wolf, I tracked rabbits and deers. I had done many times during my stay at the ruins, but today was special. It was a full moon.

After a couple hours, I decided to change back to human but I felt something pulled me towards the ruins. Feeling like it was important, I followed the pull. It lead me up a hill against the ruins. I wanted to post this on my wall of fame, so I turned on the manual recording option. I kept on moving until I found myself peering into a hole in the wall. I scrambled through the hole and found myself on the remains of the ceiling of the atrium. Looking down, I spotted a luminescence being floating above the marble table and obelisk. I jumped down and approached the spirit. As I focused upon the spirit, it took on a translucent feminine shape and leaned down towards me. In my mind, a soft, soothing voice spoke to me.

"Greetings, young shape shifter."

As if impressed by the spirit, I bowed my head in a sign of respect. The spirit continued.

"I am pleased to see a follower of the druids ways, especially after such a long time. I can only guess that you are here for the man that came before. He had just enough affinity with nature to use me as a means to attract you here. My pleas have been heard. I shall free the man from my voices. In return, I want you to do something for me. I want you to go in the deepest part of the sanctuary for it has been overtaken by a dark power. I want for you to retrieve a powerful and ancient artifact."

The obelisk trembled slightly then it glided on its left, revealing a flight of stairs going deep into the dark. At the same time, I received a notification.

"Good luck, young druid."

I felt my four paws leave the ground as my body levitate towards opening. I was deposited on the top step of the stairs. Under the stare of the spirit, I continued my descent and shuddered as I heard the obelisk moving back to place.

Thanks to my night vision, I was able to see where I was going. I continued for another five minutes before the stairs ended. I was now standing in a room with high-vaulted ceilings. Mountains of coins and jewels decorated the room. I went around the room, sniffing around, looking for the ancient artifact. I was worried that I had yet to see any trace of the dark force that had stolen it.

I saw several ancient jewels that looked like they could the artifact in question. I decided not to touch them. After several minutes of exploration, I discovered an open coffin with a mummified body. After staring at him for a minute, I received a notification.

Through your extensive knowledge and high intelligence, you have identified the corpse as the late Brehan the Fourth.

Brehan the Fourth was the monarch of the Pantyr Kingdom more than 500 centuries ago. He ruled his people through tyranny and fear. Overthrown, he was escaped with quite a substantial amount of treasure by his few remaining loyal followers. One of them tried to steal the treasure and poisoned the king. Overtaken by his greed, Brehan's soul refused to leave for the underworld. He hunted down the traitor, took back his treasure, and hid.

Every time someone tries to steal from him, he awakens and hunts the thief down. At the end, no man could not defeat him and the druids had to seal him away. The bandits and their treasure awoke Brehan and resulted in the darkness tainting the sanctuary.

As I finished reading the notification, the mummy's eyes suddenly opened. I jumped back as it sat up and let out a scream.

You have been paralyzed for 30 seconds by Undead Screech.

Not good.

The mummy got out of the coffin and picked up a long rusty sword. It turned, looking for its victim. Its dead eyes passed me, not registering me as a potential thief. I quietly waiting for the paralysis to wear off, thinking of the best way to damage an undead. Although it was dead, I could see its muscles moving under the skin.

The destroying the vertebra at the base of the skull should be enough to incapacitate him. I waited until its back was to me before leaping at him. I bit deep into his throat, using my claw to tighten my grip.

You have dealt a critical strike: Damage x2

Brehan tried to seize me, but I was out of its reach. I twisted the vertebra brutally from side to side until it ripped off.

You have dealt a critical strike: Damage x4

I bit into this throat again when it threw itself against a pillar, smashing me into it. I kept my grip on its throat until I finally got stunned. I only had a third of my health left but had dealt a lot of damage. It could no longer use its legs or right arm. The king was currently laying facedown on the floor, moaning.

The only movement that it could accomplish was to try to grab me with its left hand. I quietly dodged it. I retaliated, slashing the mummy with my claws. From time to time, it would paralyze me using its screech and I would have to wait. The one-sided massacre went on for a couple minutes until its body turned to dust.

Around me, the room's walls started to produce a small light. Phosphorous moss and mushrooms that had been hindered by the dark powers came back to life.

I ended my wolf form, returning to my human form. I started loading my bags and pockets with as much jewelry as I could. I kept examining precious stones, golden bracelets, and old coins and only took the most valuable. I was trying to take as much as possible in case I couldn't come back. I also looked at the looted items from Brehan.
